Abstract

Petani peternak di Desa Kesiut, Kecamatan Tabanan, Kabupaten Tabanan memelihara kelinci secaratradisional dengan memberikan rumput sebagai pakan dasar dan sedikit konsentrat sebagai pakantambahan. Pelatihan singkat tentang teknik pembuatan pakan dalam bentuk pellet ini telahdilaksanakan pada bulan Juni 2014, bertujuan untuk memperkenalkan pakan pellet, menurut standarkebutuhan nutrisi kelinci. Pelatihan singkat ini didukung oleh Dinas Peternakan Tabanan dan ProgramPasca Sarjana Universitas Udayana. Pelatihan ini memperkenalkan luas lantai kandang optimum danformulasi ransum kelinci dalam bentuk pakan pellet. Terdapat 18 peternak lokal dan 9 istripeternak,dan 5 ketua kelompok peternak desa kesiut. Team mempresentasikan tentang , (1) KebutuhanNutrisi Kelinci, (2) Prospek kelinci, (3) Imbangan energi dan protein,(4) Penyakit kelinci dan (5)teknik pembuatan pakan dalam bentuk pellet. Petani peternak bisa mengerti tentang materi yangdisampaikan dan tertarik dalam pembuatan pakan pellet. Pada akhir diskusi, kita bisa melihatpartisipasi dan antusiasme dalam menjalankan kegiatan. Mereka menggunakan kesempatan ini untukmembuat diskusi dengan team dari Universitas Udayana.

Abstract

This community service was conducted in a livestock groups of Bali cattle, one of the livestock groups is locatedat Pengotan village. Their members are peoples of Pengotan village, Bangli Regency. They are mostly farmers whoare still having productive farm lands with very limited extensions. Nowadays, along with the care for their cattle,they usually give their cattle green forage from natural grasses. Usually, the farmers offered the cattle by ricestraws from their waste of rice harvest which is plentiful enough along the year. They are only do it if they are indifficulties of getting enough fresh natural forages. Due to this condition, therefore socialization and demonstrationhow to place of planting high forages feedstuff (leguminoseae and nonleguminoseae) by Three Forages StratumSystem (STS) for planting high quality of forages and practice of biofermentation technology for increasing the ricestraw which helps to raise digestion for the livestocks. With this community service program, the expected resultis the members of group have knowledge and comprehension that rice straw could be used as source of forageswhich could be stored within 3 to 4 months with a Microorganisms culture (EM-4) fermentation method. Fromthis program, the participants have got appropriate knowledge to increase 90% about Three Forages StratumSystem (STS) for planting high quality forages and leguminoseae threes. It is concluded that by using both thefermented rice straw and plantation of high quality of forages by Three Forages Stratum System (STS) the farmerwould not be in difficulties to obtain green forages sources for their cattle.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The public service activity at Banjar Cengkok, Baha village, Mengwi district, Badung regency has been held on August 25 th 2007. This activity was aimed to surmount all barriers in raising ducks extensively (by herding), specifically in terms of low egg production and in high bereft of them. The target of this activity was Kembang Sari duck breeder group which consists of 10 breeders. The methods that has been used were extension in connection with nutrition needs of ducks and to give information regarding the additional food that can be given to increase their productivity. Besides extension and discussion, another support as nylon net and rope have also been given to the breeders in order to help to create more security when the ducks are in herding.

Abstract

Pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan pada kelompok ternak sapi bali, yaitu salah satu kelompok ternakyang berlokasi di Desa Pengotan, Bangli. Anggota kelompok ternak merupakan masyarakat Pengotan,Bangli. Umumnya mereka adalah petani peternak dengan kepemilikan lahan yang rendah. Selama ini,pengetahuan tentang manajemen pemeliharaan ternak yang efisien dan produktif anggota kelompok masihrendah. Berdasarkan masalah tersebut, kegiatan sosialisasi dan pelatihan penerapan manajemen perencanaanyang efisien dan produktif pada kelompok ternak sapi di Desa Pengotan, Bangli. Hasil kegiatanmenunjukkan bahwa setelah dilaksanakan kegiatan sosialisasi dan pelatihan, ternyata pengetahuan danketrampilan peserta tentang manajemen yang efisien meningkat sebesar 30,25% lebih tinggi dibandingkandengan sebelum kegiatan dilaksanakan.

Abstract

Farmers in Riang Gede village, Tabanan District, Tabanan regency generally raise rabbits traditionally by providing grass field as basic feed and concentrate supplementation very minimum. Short course on diet manufacturing techniques in the form of pellets was performed in Juni 2014, aims to introduce the feed pellets, according to the rabbit nutrient requirements standard. Short course was suported by Tabanan Departement of Animal Production and Animal Sciense Post Gradute Program, Udayana University. This training introduces fermented of coffee leather as rabbit diet formulation in pellet form. There were 18 local famers and 9 farmer’s wife and 5 Riang Gede community leaders. The teams presented about (1) Rabbit nutrient requirment, (2) Prospect of rabbit, (3) energy and protein balance, (4) rabbit desease dan (4) diet manufacturing techniques in the form of pellets. Farmers can understand the course material and interested in creating a diet in the form of pellets. Based on the limited discussion, it could be seen that participants were very enthusiastic in joining this activity. They used this occasion for making discussion with the concerned team from Udayana University.Keywords: fermented coffee pulp, rabbit nutrien requirement standard, diet manufacturing techniques in the form of pellets.

Abstract

This activity on the service to people in Medahan Village, Blahbatuh Sub District, Gianyar District Aimed to improveded soft skill of farmers in applied of probiotic matter used and feed formulation for improveded of feed convertion for to increased of feed conversion on ruminant animal on Week, 7th October 2007 with following twenty fife farmers. The method of were lecture and training about applied probiotic matter and feed formation for non ruminant animal. Evaluated method to do on praction phase, action phase, and understand to realize phase. The result of the activity showed that praction phas eto get people response was 75 percentage, people response on action phase about applied of proiotic matter and feed formulation for non ruminant animal were 85% on understand phase that with lecture and apply about its happened undestand response to increased from 50 until 80 pecentage. It was concluded that the response of farmres to applied of probiotic matter used and feed formation for improveded of feed conversion for to increased of feed conversion on non ruminant animal were higher (70-85 percentage).

Abstract

Penelitian telah dilaksanakan di Gianyar-Bali, untuk mengoptimalkan pemanfaatan jerami padi sebagai pakandasar sapi bali penggemukan melalui perlakuan amoniasi dan biofermentasi dengan Starbio dan Trichodermavirideae. Rancangan acak kelompok digunakan dalam percobaan ini yang terdiri atas empat perlakuan dan tigablok sebagai ulangan dengan 1 unit percobaan adalah 1 ekor sapi bali jantan. Perlakuan pertama adalah ransumkontrol yang terdiri atas jerami padi tanpa perlakuan diberikan secara ad libitum + complete feed sebanyak 1.5%dari bobot hidup sapi. Perlakuan kedua, ketiga, dan keempat adalah sama dengan ransum kontrol tetapi jerami padidiberi perlakuan berturut-turut amoniasi urea, biofermentasi dengan starbio, dan Trichoderma virideae. Peubahyang diamati meliputi konsumsi ransum, deposisi nutrien, retensi energi, pertambahan bobot hidup sapi danfeed conversion ratio (FCR). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsumsi bahan kering ransum kontrol nyatalebih tinggi daripada ransum dengan jerami padi yang diberi perlakuan biofermentasi mikroba. Namun demikian,deposisi nutrien (lemak dan protein), retensi energi dan pertambahan bobot hidup sapi lebih tinggi pada ransumberbasis jerami padi yang diberi perlakuan amoniasi urea dan biofermentasi dengan starbio maupun denganTrichoderma virideae. Dari keempat perlakuan tersebut, ternyata jerami padi yang diberi perlakuan amoniasiurea memberikan hasil paling baik dengan pertambahan bobot hidup sapi paling tinggi (0,53 vs 0,47, 0,46, dan0,41 kg/ekor/hari). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa jerami padi dengan amoniasi ureamemberikan pemanfaatan secara optimal sebagai pakan dasar sapi bali penggemukan.

Abstract

The research was carried out to study the effect of kayu apu (Pistia Stratiotes L) in diets of cholesterol concentration in the blood and mea on the chickn local. The experiment was designed using completely randomized design (CRD) with four treatments which were ration without” kayu apu”(Pistia stratiotes L) as control (P0), ration with 10% kayu apu (P1), ration with 20% kayu apu (P2) and ration with 30% kayu apu (P3). Each treatment group had three replicates with five birds in each replicates. Data observation are total choresterol, low density lipoprotein (LDL), high density lipoprotein (HDL) in the blood and meat cholesterol. The result showed that the offered 10%-30% kayu in diets could be decrease of cholesterol total and Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL) were significanty (P<0,05), but not affected of High Density Lipoprotein (HDL) (P>0,05). The same incident of the offered kayu apu could be decrease of cholesterol concentration total in the  meat. It was included that of kayu apu (Pistia Stratiotes L) 10%-30% in the ration could be increase on feed efficiency, decrease of carcass fat and cholesterol concentration in the blood and meat of the chicken local.   Keywords: The expedient of decrease cholesterol, kayu apu (Pistia Stratiotes L) and Chicken local

Abstract

This experiment was conducted to find out performance of broiler was given turmeric, tamarind, and mixed turmeric and tamarind on drinking water used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments dan 5 replications. The treatments are given without turmeric and tamarind (A), 2% turmeric (B), 2% tamarind (C), and mixed 1% turmeric and 1% tamarind (D). The observed variables are initial body weight, final body weight, daily body weight, feed consumption, water comsuption, and FCR. The results indicated that was given 2% turmeric (B), 2% tamarind (C) and mixed 1% turmeric and 1% tamarind (D) significantly increased (P<0,05) of final body weigth, daily body weight, water comsuption, and FCR but different significantly (P>0,05) of feed comsuption compared to the control (A). Based on concluded that was given 2% turmeric (B), 2% tamarind (C) and mixed of 1% turmeric and 1% tamarind (D) on water drinking able to provide the same ration consumption, but can increased of final body weight, daily body weight and efficient in untilizing rations while broiler was given mixed 1% turmeric and 1% tamarind (D) can increased water comsuption.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh tipe lantai dan kepadatan ternak yang berbeda terhadap tabiat makan ayam pedaging telah dilaksanakan di Tabanan, Bali. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak kelompok dengan pola faktorial 3×3 dalam 3 blok. Faktor pertama adalah tipe lantai kandang yang terdiri dari litter sekam di tanah (L1), lantai slat bambu (L2) dan lantai litter panggung (L3). Faktor kedua adalah kepadatan ternak yang terdiri dari 10 ekor/m2 (P1), 12 ekor/m2 (P2), dan 14 ekor/m2 (P3). Hasil penelitian tabiat makan menunjukkan bahwa frekuensi makan, frekuensi minum, frekuensi istirahat pada L1 nyata lebih tinggi (P<0,05) dari L2. Lama makan pada L2 lebih lama dari L1 dan L3 tetapi tidak berbeda nyata (P>0,05). Lama minum pada L3 nyata lebih lama (P<0,05) dari L1 dan L2. Lama istirahat pada L1 nyata lebih lama (P<0,05) dari L2. Lama panting pada L2 nyata lebih sedikit (P<0,05) dari L1 dan L3. Frekuensi makan pada P1 nyata lebih tinggi (P<0,05) dari P2 dan P3. Frekuensi minum, frekuensi istirahat pada P1 lebih tinggi dari P2 dan P3 tetapi tidak berbeda nyata (P>0,05). Lama makan pada P1 nyata lebih lama (P<0,05) dari P2 dan P3. Lama minum pada P2 nyata lebih lama (P<0,05) dari P1 dan P3. Lama istirahat dan lama panting pada P3 lebih lama dari P1 dan P2 tetapi tidak berbeda nyata (P>0,05). Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa tidak terjadi interaksi antara tipe lantai dan kepadatan ternak terhadap tabiat makan, lantai slat bambu dan litter panggung menghasilkan tabiat makan yan lebih baik dibandingkan litter sekam di tanah. Kepadatan ternak 10 ekor/m2 menghasilkan tabiat makan lebih baik daripada 12 ekor/m2 dan 14 ekor/m2. THE EFFECT OF FLOOR TYPE AND BIRDS DENSITY ON FEEDING BEHAVIOUR OF BROILER AGED 2-6 WEEKS ABSTRACT The experiment aimed to study the effect of floor type and birds density on feeding behaviour of broilers. This experiment was carried out at Tabanan, Bali. The experiment used a completely randomized block design (CRBD) with factorial arrangement (3x3) in tree blocks. The first factor was floor type consisted of deep litter in the ground (L1), bamboo slat floor (L2) and litter podium floor (L3). The second factor was birds density consisted of 10 birds/m¬2 (P1), 12 birds/m2 (P2), and 14 birds/m2 (P3). The results of the experiment showed that the frequency of the eating, the drinking, and the resting at L1 were significantly higher (P<0.05) than L2. Time of feeding at L¬2 was longer than L1 and L3 but there were no significant differences (P>0.05). The time for drinking at L3 was significantly longer (P<0.05) than L1 and L¬2 and the time for resting at L1 was significantly longer (P<0.05) than L2 and also time for painting at L2 was significantly shorter (P<0.05) than L1 and L3. The frequencies of feeding at P1 was significantly higher (P<0.05) than P2 and P3. However, there were no significant differences on drinking and resting frequencies (P>0.05). The time feeding of P1 were significantly longer (P<0.05) than P2 and P3 and time for drinking at P2 were significantly longer than P1 and P3. Time for resting and panting at P3 were longer (P<0.05) than P1 and P2, but no significant differences (P>0.05). It was concluded that bamboo slat floor and litter podium make feeding behaviour better than chaff litter in the ground. There were no differences between density of 10 birds/m2, and 14 birds/m2 at bamboo slat floor and litter podium in feeding behaviour of broilers.
