Abstract

Artikel ini merupakan hasil kajian pustaka dan membahas tentang aplikasi geografi dalam penanganan  kebencanaan lingkungan di daerah Indonesia. Indonesia merupakan negara kepulauan dan terdapat dua jalur gunung berapi (sirkum Meditterrania dan sirkum Pasifik) serta dikelilingi dua samudra dan dua benua, dengan demikian negara Indonesia rentan terhadap berbagai bencana alam. Fokus kajian dalam aplikasi geografi dalam penanganan  kebencanaan lingkungan ditekankan pada kebencanaan dalam arti bencana alami dan bencana artificial. Untuk bencana alami menekankan pada bencana seismic, bencana vulkanik, dan bencana tropic. Sedangkan bencana artificial diakibatkan oleh manusia dan perilakunya serta aplikasi teknologi yang berdampak langsung atau tak langsung pada lingkungan Kata-kata kunci: Bencana alami, Bencana artificial, Kebencanaan Lingkungan

Abstract

A survey was carried out to determine the behavior of bali cattle breeders in Bali, as well as finding an effective extension system in implementing technic and management production. The research design was a survey, using a questionnaire as a data collection tool. Research was conducted in all eight regencies and one city in Bali. In total 198 breeders were surveyed by purposive sampling method, 99 of which were members of groups and 99 were not members of groups. Data was analyze using  descriptive, t-test, and Structural Equation Model (SEM). Results of the research showed that: 1) The level behavior, bali cattle breeders in implementing technical and production management classified in the middle category; 2) The extension system in Bali for bali cattle breeders to improve the behavior was not effective; and 3) Effective extension system to improve bali cattle breeders behavior is extension conducted by a professional extension workers, with an innovative extension materials, reliable extension institution, and adequate extension financing, through a group approach. Based on the research results, it is suggested that: 1) the Government should to improve the professionalism of extension workers, innovative extension materials, forming reliable extension institution, and provide adequate extension financing; 2) Breeders is to become an active member of groups breeder.

Abstract

Database of Bali heifer particularly on their nutrient digestibility, energy and nitrogen balance of various ration formulas on their growth performance were limited.  A randomized block design with four types rations of metabolizable energy (ME) and crude protein ratios, i.e. of 2,045.38 kcal ME/kg:12.06% (Treatment A), 2,103.57 kcal ME/kg:13.11% (Treatment B), 2,201.85 kcal ME/kg:13.97% (Treatment C) and 2297.60 kcal ME/kg:15.05% (Treatment D) were conducted to evaluate nutrient digestibility, energy and nitrogen retention of Bali heifers.  The rations consisted of concentrate, urea, molasses, king grass, coconut oil and vitamin-mineral mix.  Results showed that Treatment D improved significantly of the 7,814.34 kcal/d digestible energy, 49.87 g/d digestible nitrogen, 11,015.06 kcal/d energy intake, 423.53 g/d nitrogen intake, 67.76 kcal/d energy retention, 7.91 g/d nitrogen retention, 0.33 kg/d daily weight gain (ADG), (P<0.05).  In summary, ration for Bali heifer should contain at least 2,297.60 kcal ME/kg:15.05% crude protein for better average daily weight gain.

Abstract

Tumbuhan pakan ternak (TPT) memiliki peran yang sangat strategis dengan semakin meningkatnya kebutuhanhijauan untuk peningkatan produktivitas ternak ruminansia. Berbagai jenis TPT lokal dan introduksi memilikikualitas yang sangat baik dan berpotensi sebagai konsentrat hijau. Berdasarkan hal tersebut sangat diperlukansebuah penelitian yang bertujuan untuk memetakan dan menghitung produksi biomasa TPT lokal di ProvinsiBali. Penelitian menggunakan metode survei di 190 unit lahan. Unit lahan disusun dengan metode tumpangtindih dari peta jenis tanah, peta tata guna lahan, dan peta iklim. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapatperbedaan potensi dan karakteristik tumbuhan pakan pada berbagai kondisi iklim, tataguna lahan dan jenis tanah.Kawasan dengan tipe iklim D, E, dan F banyak didominasi oleh rumput-rumputan jenis Heteropogon contortus,Botriochloa, Themeda, Polytrias, dan rumput Hyparhenia rupa. Produksi hijauan rata-rata dari tumbuhan yangtergolong pastura alami adalah 214,11 kg DM ha-1 dengan kontribusi utama adalah rumput Paspalum conyugatumdan Cynodon dactilon masing-masing sebesar 20,99% dan 8,60%. Rata-rata produksi pada kebun hijauan, semak,pohon, dan tumpang sari berturut-turut adalah: 871,11 kg DM ha-1, 0,88 kg DM pohon-1, 2,10 kg DM pohon-1 151,2kg DM ha-1. Untuk hijauan pohon kontribusi terbesar dan daya adaptasinya paling baik adalah tanaman gamal(Gliricidia sepium). Produksi biomassa hijauan pakan di Bali mencapai 476.057,27 ton dan simpanan karbonnyamencapai 223.746.92 ton. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa TPT lokal memiliki keberagaman dan perbedaan yang spesifikpada berbagai kawasan di Provinsi Bali, serta produksi biomasa yang tinggi berperan penting dalam mitigasiperubahan iklim.

Abstract

In order to fulfill the domestic meat requirements and reduce imports so government continually develop localbeef cattle based on their quantity and quality of meat. Among the local cattle in Indonesia, Bali cattle is the mostfavourite cattle (32.31%) considering on its meat quality. There were 12 calves used in this research with 100 kgof average body weight. The treatments were diet with 40% concentrate and 60% king grass (A); 45% concentrateand 55% king grass (B); 50% concentrate and 50% king grass (C); 55% concentrate and 45% king grass (D). Theexperiment was design in a completely randomized block design with four treatments and three replicates. Thevariables measured were rumen fermentation as of pH, NH3, total and pastial of VFA (acetic acid, propionic acidand butyric acid), microbial protein synthesis and protozoa populations. It showed that treatment D produce thehighest NH3 and total VFA, 14.66 mMol, and 165.38 mMol respectively compared to other treatments. Propionicacid was 27.87 mMol the highest in treatment D and 368.62 g/h/d microbial protein synthesis. It can be concludedthe higher proportion of concentrate in the bali heifer calves so the more energy supply, in this case, SPM availabilityfor the host animal is higher.

Abstract

Penyediaan pakan berkesinambungan dan berkualitas sangat penting untuk meningkatkan produktivitasternak. Batang pisang yang tersedia melimpah dan murah dapat ditingkatkan daya gunanya sebagai sumberpakan berkualitas melalui teknologi silase dengan penambahan hijauan Clitoria ternatea. Penelitian inimengkombinasikan batang pisang dengan hijauan C. ternatea dibuat dalam bentuk selase complete feedmelalui penambahan pollar, molasis dan EM4 ke dalam empat perlakuan. Kontrol (perlakuan A): 65%batang pisang + 30% pollar + 5% (molasis + EM4); perlakuan B: 55% batang pisang + 10% C. ternatea+ 30% pollar + 5% (molasis + EM4); perlakuan C: 45% batang pisang + 20% C. ternatea + 30% pollar +5% (molasis + EM4); dan perlakuan D: 35% batang pisang + 30% C. ternatea + 30% pollar + 5% (molasis+ EM4). Masing-masing perlakuan terdiri atas tiga ulangan. Penelitian dilaksanakan untuk mendapatkankombinasi silase batang pisang dan hijauan C. ternatea yang terbaik melalui pengamatan kualitas fisik,sifat pisik, kandungan nutrien dan kecernaan secara in vitro. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakanAnova. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terjadi peningkatan kandungan nutrisi, kecernaan bahan kering danbahan organik serta penurunan komponen penghambat kecernaan secara in vitro. Kesimpulan penelitian iniadalah, penambahan C. ternatea dalam silase batang pisang sampai 30% menghasilkan kandungan bahanorganik, protein kasar, energi, kecernaan bahan kering dan bahan organik tertinggi dan kandungan seratkasar terendah. Abstract

This research to be carried out in the dryland area at Karangasem Regency with the aim of increasing forage productivity quantitavely and in quality and also can be available sustainably. Feed plants are one of the potentials that can be developed on critical land as an effort to increase land productivity so that over land conversion or over exploitation of land that has a negative impact on the enviroment can be minimized. As well as the sand quarry area, which the community mines as wide as posible for reasons of less productive even though the mining doesn’t get permission by the local goverment because it it a protected area and wear absorption. The experiment will use 2 types superior grass, namely Paspalum atratum and Panicum maximum cv Trichogume, and one type of local legume that has been adaptive to the local enviroment, namely Centrocema pubescens. The purpose of research is to get information about Productivity of Paspalum atratum and Panicum maximum Cv Trichoglume Mixed Cropping with Centrocema pubescense, both from the argonomic and nutritional aspect. The experimental design that will be used is block design that consists of 3 groups as replication and 6 treatment, so that there will bw 18 plots (18 research unit). The results of study showed that the growth of grass in the Passpalum atratum monoculturally was better then Panicum maximum grass, as well as the nutrient content. Better growth also occurs in mixed Paspalum maximum grass planting with Centrocema pubescens compare to Panicum atratum with Centrocema pubescens. In the planting of the mixture of both types of grass with legume Centrocema pubescens it was concluded that, the types of grass of Paspalum atratum is more dominant than the Panicum maximum. Abstract

This research is aimed to know the growth and yield of butterfly pea (Clitoria ternatea L.) at various level of water content and bio-slurry fertilizers. This research was conducted for 4 months at Tropical Forage Science Laboratory, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University. The experiment design used a completely randomized design (CRD) in split plot pattern. Main factor or main plot is various level of water content: water content 60% (K1), 80% (K2), and 100% (K3) of field capacity, while sub factor or sub plot is level of fertilizer dosage: 0 ton ha-1 (D0), 10 ton ha-1 (D1), 20 ton ha-1 (D2), 30 ton ha-1(D3). The treatment repeated as much as 4 times. The variables observed in this study are growth and forage yield. The result of this research showed that giving various level of water content with different dosage bio-slurry fertilizer give significant effect (P<0,05) to growth and forage yield of butterfly pea (C. ternatea). There is no interaction between the treatment of level water content with the dosage of fertilizer to growth and the forage yield of butterfly pea (C. ternatea). Based on the result of the research, it can be concluded that the 80% (K2) level water content and 20 ton ha-1 (D2) fertilizer resulted in the best growth and forage yield of butterfly pea (C. ternatea). Abstract

Forage is one of the supporting factors in planning animal production. Climate condition is one factor which influence forage production. This research attempted to map the class suitability of climate for seven forage species in Bali province and to analysis the level of vulnerability toward climate changes by using Geography Information System (GIS). The results showed that four from seven species observed have class suitability with climate S1. Rain climate factor was the important factor which was influence the climate unsuitability of forage in Bali province. The effect of climate change, such as La Nina 1998 caused positive and negative impacts towards the distribution of class suitability of climate at that year. The incident of La Nina caused the reduction of area of class suitability of S1, S2, and N climate, meanwhile increase the area of class suitability of S3 climate. On the other hand, some location of climate suitability class also changed due to climate change.

Abstract

The side-effect of sand mining was disappearing of biomass which caused of land degradation. A study has been carried out to obtain the model legume association with superior grass plants that are adaptive to repair post-mining land on dry land. This research was desgined in association patern between grasses and legumes with manure application, using 8 combination of grasses herbaceous and tree legumse with 3 replications. This research was conducted at Sebudi village, Karangasem district. Panicum maximum var. Trichoglum, Paspalum atratum, Centrocema pubescens, and Clitoria ternatea were used for grasses and legumes respectively. Observed variables were quality and forage production. The results of this research showed that almost all association can be implemented at dryland, and association patern between Panicum and Paspalum with Clitoria gave extra biomass. This association also showed great potential to improve land quality. The quality and production of grasses were greatly influenced by the association of legumes. Panicum and Paspalum associated with both Clitoria or Centrocema gave highest yield. Various of manure showed a non significant difference on quality and production of grass associated with tree legumes, although it tend to increase both of growth and production of grasses.
