Abstract

Language development is one of the important aspects of early childhood, language development, in essence, is a child can accept (receptive) and express (expressive). This study aims to describe the expressive language of children in Siwi Unggul Kindergarten with the media of the images he made and to analyze and describe the results of children's drawings in terms of their nature and type. This type of research is qualitative research. This research was conducted in Siwi Unggul Kindergarten, Plantungan District, Kendal Regency. The subjects of the research were Siwi Unggul Kindergarten students. The informants consisted of children, teachers, and school principals. Data collection is done by observation, interviews, and documents. The data validity technique uses triangulation. While the data analysis is done using Marshall and Rossman's interactive model, which consists of organizing data, grouping by categories, themes, and answer patterns, testing assumptions or problems that exist with the data, finding alternative explanations for the data, writing research results. The results showed that the media images created by children based on their ideas and thoughts can provoke vocabulary and expression of children's symbols (pictures and writing) in kindergarten children. Parents and teachers are expected to accompany drawing activities to stimulate children's knowledge and expressive language.

Abstract

Semarang Night Carnival (SNC) is a yearly costume design show from the creativity of the youth of Semarang and its surrounding areas which brings unique and interesting themes and has an aesthetic value. There are four themes that has enliven the 7th SNC in 2018 in Semarang City, they are, defile, Masquerede Gold (Batik Semarangan), Masquerede silver (Art Deco) taking the theme of Lawang Sewu, Masquerede Red (Pelangi village) and Masquirade Blue (Coast). This study aims to reveal the aesthetic values contained in the Semarang Night Carnival (SNC) costume design in Semarangan culture used in the Semarang City Anniversary activities in 2018. The benefits of research can give contributions to all parties regarding the existence of SNC both theoretically and practically. The research method used descriptive qualitative methods. Data collection techniques were obtained by observation, interview and documentation study. Data analysis used data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the costume design worn by the participants of the Semarang Night Carnival had an aesthetic value according to the property of something being valued, according to himself or according to other sources of value in accordance with the theme carried. The Semarang Night Carnival costume design worn by the participants included asem arang costume, butterfly costume, lawang sewu costume and beach costume.

Abstract

The art of rebana traditional music Gendukan Jawan is one of religious-ethnic music styles used as communication media of Kelompok Informasi Masyarakat (KIM). The observed problem was how the process and function of rebana music Gendukan Jawan as a communication media of Kelompok Informasi Masyarakat (KIM) to the community of Kraton Kidul Pekalongan. The purpose of this research is to describe the process and function of rebana music of Gendukan Jawan as a communication media. The benefit of this research is to give contribution to all parties about rebana music Gendukan Jawan theoretically and practically. This study used qualitative method with interdisciplinary approach. The data collecting technique was observation, interview, and document study. The data validity used data triangulation technique. The data analysis used data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the communication process of rebana music Gendukan Jawan of Kelompok Informasi Masyarakat (KIM) with Kraton Kidul community includes five elements as a respond from the five questions: ·1) Who : communicator 2) Say What : sent messages 3) In Which Channel : channel or media used to deliver the communication messages. 4) To Whom : receiver of the messages 5) With what Effect : the changes happened. The communication process involves primary communication process using verbal symbols namely messages that sent through song lyrics. Then, the secondary communication process using tools as the second media after using symbols as the first media. The function of rebana music Gendukan Jawan in Kelompok Informasi Masyarakat includes the function of telling, educating, changing the perception, and entertaining.

Abstract

Heo is a traditional musical instrument typical of the people of Timor, especially the Dawan Tribe, Insana District, East Nusa Tenggara, which is used as an accompaniment to dances, songs, and poems.One of the studio that still maintains this instrument specifically in its composition and function is the Feotnai Insana Studio. This study examines and analyzes the composition of the Heo musical instrument in Sanggar Feotnai Insana and its functions in society. The method used in this research is qualitative method. The technique of collecting data using observation, interview, document study techniques. The data validity technique uses triangulation methods / techniques. Data analysis techniques use the theory of music composition and the function of music in society. The results of this study obtained facts in the composition of the heo musical instrument playing: Allegretto Tempo: 106 bpm, the time signature using a 2/4 beat,the rhythmplayed using a Tamburwith a Timorese rhyme, the melody played by the Heo and Fekoo and harmony played by the Leko Boko by using the C chord. The benefits of this study can expand the reader's perspective on the traditional music of the Dawan Tribe, Heo and provide information about the composition of the Heo musical instrument in the community which also supports Heo's existence.

Abstract

In the midst of technological advances, changes in mindset, behavior and habits of the people of Denpasar City did not cause Gending Rare to experience extinction even though its existence was not as before. Gending rare has the potential as a media for character education that can be analyzed in terms of the form and value contained therein. The method used in this research is qualitative method. Data collection techniques using observation, interview and document study techniques. The data validity technique uses source triangulation. Data analysis techniques using song form theory and character value theory. The results of this study found that the barrel used in Gending Rare is the pelog barrel and selendro barrel, with a slow, moderate, gangsar (deft), and fast tempo. The time bar or the time signature used is time bars 2/4 and time bars 4/4. The language used is Fine Balinese Language and Casual Balinese Language. The character values ​​contained are religious, honest, tolerance, discipline, hard work, creative, independent, curiosity, love of the motherland, communicative, caring for the environment, and responsibility. This research can broaden the perspective of readers about the existence of Gending Rare and provide information about the form and value of the characters contained in Gending Rare. Abstract

The dimension and power of the arts reviewed from an artistic and aesthetic aspect of this article are assessed by its empowerment in the educational process as a teaching and creating medium in The Floating School (TFS) to the discourse toward the arts education problematic holistically. This primary subject constitutes a base of the study to analyze the idea of TFS founders and facilitators to the artistic and aesthetic aspect in its learning object and model, in the study of Ki Hadjar Dewantara’s Pendidikan Kesenian (arts education). The research on this article uses a qualitative-interpretative approach with a study case model to the TFS 2017 program. The viewpoint and understanding of founders and facilitators become a primary data collection through a review of the study document, an applied of a deep interview, and a base of participative observation. The validity of the data collection result is tested by the commensurability test of the data and data resources. By focusing the data on an account and transcript of the interview, data analysis uses an illustrative method through five stages: (1) appreciating the account and transcript of interview; (2) giving a note; (3) formulating a theme; (4) conceptualizing a topic; and (5) adjusting a problem topic, to narrating the result of interpretation with the critical discourse analysis. Thereby, this article shows that the TFS art workshops have a position and role in accompanying and fostering the students to express a story or their understanding of object material and create a message or their processing into the artwork. Those processes and progress finally develop the TFS student’s curiosity and confidence in cultivating their skills and knowledge. This study case is expected to be a power and contribution towards a discipline of arts education.

Abstract

Music learning at the Bosowa Natural School Makassar (SABM) uses the Beyond Center and Circle Time (BCCT) learning model as a strategy for achieving the expected learning objectives of music. Besides learning music in SABM is an intra-curricular subject that must be taught to students because SABM refers to one of multiple intelligences, namely musical intelligence. Therefore, this study aims to analyze music learning through the BCCT approach. The method used in this research is interpretative qualitative with an interdisciplinary approach. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation studies with interactive model analysis. The results showed (1) the environmental footing gave rise to learning activities in the making of learning media which were implemented by the demonstration method, (2) the footing before learning, singing could build the mood of students, and embed the value of knowledge through song lyrics, (3) the footing during learning, the lecture method, question and answer, and drill practice are very effective for students to better understand theory and practice, (4) footing after learning, train students to speak according to what has been passed from the beginning to the end of learning while practicing memory, patience, and respect.

Abstract

Saman dance is a traditional dance of the Gayo community which developed in Blangkejeren Gayo Lues danced by men. Saman dance was originally used as a means of propaganda media in the spread of Islam. In Saman dance there are many educational values ​​that are beneficial to the community. This study aims to examine the educational values ​​of Saman dance performance. The research was located in Blangkejeren Gayo lues, Aceh Province. Data collection techniques are observation, interviews, and documentation. Data validation techniques used triangulation. Data analysis techniques used descriptive analysis. The results of this study are that the Saman Dance has educational values, namely the religious values ​​found in poetry, movements and clothing used by Saman dancers. The value of friendship lies in the enthusiasm of the audience and the dancers who are made as a unifier of the Gayo community, the value of tolerance can also be seen in the poems sung by the Penangkat. The togetherness value in the saman dance is clearly seen in the cohesiveness among dancers and in the variety of movements being danced, and the value of confidence is seen in the movements danced heroically by dancers.

Abstract

Autistic children are children who experience impaired brain function development which is characterized by difficulties in the ability of social interaction, communication with the environment, behavior and a delay in the academic field. Imaginative expressions in children with autism can be done through the media of painting. The media of painting can help as a therapy and to develop the painting skills of autistic children. This study aims to review and analyze (1) The form of autistic children's painting in the Autistic Advanced School (SLA) Fredofios. (2) Environmental elements visualized in paintings as a result of the imagination of children with autism. The method used in this research is qualitative. Data is collected through controlled observations, interviews, and document studies. The data validity technique uses triangulation and interactive data analysis techniques. The results of this study First, the form of autistic children's painting shows artistic painting in terms of subjects, color elements and shapes. Second, visualized environmental elements describe the school environment and family environment. Expressions of imagination of autistic children are always inspired by the environment every day.

Abstract

Gending Sriwijaya Dance is a traditional dance in the South Sumatra region that has potential forms and values ​​that need to be preserved and inherited, art education at the studio is an effort to inherit traditional dance as practiced by the Putri Rambut Selako Art Studio. The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze the inheritance of the Gending Sriwijaya Dance through traditional dance education at the Putri Rambut Selako Art Studio. This research method uses a qualitative approach, with case study design, data validity technique with triangulation and data analysis procedures carried out through the stages of reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that dance learning in the studio becomes an effort to inherit the Gending Sriwijaya Dance which includes two aspects of inheritance, namely the learning process as enculturation and staging as a socialization activity and supported by potential environmental aspects of students, aspects of the teacher (trainer) method and evaluation of learning to achieve goals education as a process of inheritance, then there are values ​​inherited from students through traditional arts education at the Putri Rambut Selako Art Studio which researchers classified into three, among others: 1) Knowledge Value; 2) Attitude Value; 3) Skill Value. The benefit and contribution of this research is that the existence of dance education at the Putri Rambut Selako Art Studio can be a reference for other traditional art inheritance efforts through art education.
