Abstract

This research was motivated by the challenges of parents in taking care of their children when facing the coronavirus pandemic happening globally. This makes conditions change in various sectors. The implementation of “Work from Home” and “School from Home” is a government policy to break the chain of the coronavirus. The purpose of this research was to determine the relationship between parenting self-efficacy and parenting stress on parents to support early children playing at home. The research design was quantitative simple correlation. The population in this research were parents having young children in Bandar Lampung City. The sample of this research was selected by simple random sampling technique. The results showed that there was a significant negative relationship between parenting self-efficacy and parenting stress on parents in accompanying early childhood playing at home. So, if the parenting self-efficacy of parents is high, it can reduce the parenting stress when accompanying children to play at home. Based on these findings, this study suggests (1) further research should be done on a larger subject, (2) further research can compare between parents inservice and preservice training parenting, (3) Researchers can look for other factors as stressors for parents in parenting early childhood at home.

Abstract

This study aims to see how the application of STEAM-based learning in the learning process. Knowing the description of the process of implementing STEAM-based learning. This research method uses descriptive research in the form of a survey method. This research uses data collection techniques through non-test techniques conducted at RA Perwanida Praya. The results of the study were analyzed through the Editing, Coding, and Scoring stages, which describe STEAM-based learning activities. The simple result is that the application of STEAM has appeared in the learning activities that have been applied but the teacher still does not fully understand STEAM learning related to its elements and aspects.

Abstract

Introducing local culture to the younger generation, which is carried out on children from an early age, is one way to protect Indonesian culture. It is not eroded by the times. This study aims to determine how parents introduce their local culture to children aged 4-6 years. The method is using qualitative. The research subject is determined using purposive sampling in which subjects are selected based on criteria families with children aged 4-6 years, living in RT 08 RW 08 and willing to become respondents. Based on criteria is obtained subject as many as 10 people. Data collection was carried out by an in-depth interview method using a questionnaire distributed to parents. This is done because physical and social distancing is still being applied. Data analysis was performed using the Miles and Huberman model, including data reduction, data display, and data verification. Presentation of data is by displaying tables, diagrams, and narratives to strengthen understanding. The results showed that parents introduced local culture to their children in the form of regional food, folk songs, and regional games using any media. Recommendations are given to the stakeholders that should improve the number of related local cultural reference books.

Abstract

The background of this research is the Sundanese Straits tsunami disaster in 2018 which caused casualties, death, serious injuries, minor injuries, loss of shelter, transportation, and materials. Survivors of the tsunami tragedy impacted psychological disorders in the form of post-disaster trauma. The purpose of this scientific research is to look at the psychological impact of post-disaster trauma experienced by children and the handling methods used through traumatic counseling. This is because children have weak mental or psychological conditions compared to adults in the face of trauma. The method used is a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques are interviews, documentation studies, and audio-visual information. The research location is in the area of ​​Labuan Pandeglang, Banten. Respondents numbered 50 children, research conducted on December 24 2018 - January 30 2019 by two counselors from two universities in Banten. Data analysis is done by reviewing all primary data and forming interpretation data or propositions in the form of meaning. The findings of the research are survivors conducting traumatic counseling in children consisting of 4 stages, namely (1) physical health examination; (2) counseling using the traumatic healing method; (3) play therapy; (4) psychological assistance in the form of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) therapy. This research can provide recommendations to researchers in the future, especially those relating to the psychological handling of victims of natural disasters. This research is recommended to all survivors, volunteers, and counselors who are concerned with handling post-disaster trauma victims, not only for the tsunami disaster.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the strengthening of the professionalism of Aisyiah Early Childhood Education (PAUD) teachers in Wirogunan Village through humanist communication in the Covid 19 pandemic era. : qualitative descriptive research. Data collection methods: interviews with applications; Whatshaap, google form and documentation. The data analysis technique uses qualitative analysis techniques consisting of 3 stages, namely: data reduction, data display and data verification. Research result ; The results of interviews with 8 teachers and 1 principal conducted on 4-10 June 2020 obtained information: teachers are less familiar with their students, teachers have difficulty managing classes, teaching styles are monotonous, less interactive, less able to provide motivation, difficult to give examples of behavioral attitudes to students, it is difficult to educate character, less able to develop the material actually. The impact of all this is that students do not maximize their potential, interests and talents. This condition must be found a solution. One solution is to strengthen the professionalism of the Early Childhood Education (PAUD) teacher Aisyiah, Wirogunan Village, through humanist communication.

Abstract

The study aims to see the comparisons and differences in motor skills of breastfed and formula-fed children aged 4-6 years both in fine and gross motor. The approach used is descriptive quantitative by looking at comparisons or differences in children's motoric development. The subjects in this study are 40 children consuming breast milk aged 4-6 years and 40 children consuming formula milk aged 4-6 years, so a total of participants are 80 children with parents as respondents and the results are significant. The findings show that children consuming breast milk are better and faster in fine motor and gross motor development than children consuming formula milk.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how the process of online training methods to improve early childhood pedagogical competence of teachers, early childhood teachers pedagogical competence results after following the online training methods as well as the responses obtained by the participants after attending online training methods. Pedagogic competence of teachers is the ability to manage learning, which includes planning, implementation, and evaluation of learning outcomes of students. Pedagogical competence developed through training in collaboration between knowledge and practice so easily applied in learning. One method of training was initiated by the government is an online training method implemented in basic training. This study uses qualitative research methods with the data source 24 early childhood teachers who are in the district of Bogor. Data collection technique used interview, observation and field notes with the data analysis using data reduction, data presentation, and verification of data. The results of this study mention the pedagogical competence of the 24 teachers who have been following the online training methods 21 people are at a high category and three are in the moderate category. Similarly with the results of interviews at every teacher stated that the results were very good and positive after following the online training to improve the quality of learning in the classroom.

Abstract

The introduction of number symbols in early childhood is the basis of learning mathematics. One form of educational services provided to early childhood is adjusted to the principle of learning while playing. Playing is one method that can be used in introducing the concept of symbol numbers. This study aims to provide an overview of the introduction of number symbols in children aged 4-5 years through playing mathematics. The method used in this research is a qualitative descriptive research method with literature study or literature study. This research is focused on the introduction of number symbols in children 4-5 years based on the stages of number symbol recognition. In addition, it also provides an overview of the introduction of the symbol of numbers by playing math activities that can be done at school or at home. The recognition of number symbols is an important part of learning mathematics because the introduction of number symbols at an early age will have an effect on future children's mathematics achievement. Mathematics playing activities are effectively used in the introduction of number symbols both at school and at home. Playing mathematics activities provides benefits for early childhood in learning mathematics, especially the introduction of number symbols. This is evident from the results of previous studies and other literature relating to the introduction of number symbols in early childhood through playing mathematics.

Abstract

The improving of children's cognitive ability through demonstration method of origami crease in wulele sanggula at group B state of kindergarten 2. This study aims to improving of children's cognitive ability through demonstration method of origami crease in wulele sanggula at group B state of kindergarten 2. This type of the research is Classroom Action Research. This research was conducted in two cycles. The stages in this study follows the classroom action research procedures, namely: (1) planning, (2) implementation the action, (3) observation and (4) reflection. The subjects in this study were teachers and childrens in Wulele Sanggula at Group B State of Kindergarten 2, totaling 15 children consist of 6 girls and 9 boys. Based on the analysis of data from teacher teaching activities at the first cycle in amounting 15 aspects getting percentage of achievement in the amount of 86,66% or 13 aspect that achieved, the children's learning activityat the first cyclefrom 15 aspect getting percentage of achievement in the amount of 80% or 12 aspect that achieved and from the children's learning in improving of children's cognitive ability through demonstration method of origami crease getting percentage of achievement in the amount of 66,67% or10 students. The result of teacher teaching activities at the second cycle increasing by getting percentage of achievement in the amount of 93,33% or 14 aspect that achieved, and the result of children's learning to improving of children's cognitive ability through demonstration method of origami crease getting percentage of achievement in the amount of 86,66%. Thus it can be concluded that children's cognitive abilitycan be improving through demonstration method of origami crease in wulele sanggula at group B state of kindergarten 2.

Abstract

The formulation of the problem is whether the intelligence of verbal-linguistic ability can be improved on singing method at the group B pantai indah kindergarten north regency, southeast sulawesi? The purpose of this study was to improve verbal of linguistic ability on singing method in B group pantai indah kindergarten north buton regency, southeast sulawesi. This type of the research is Classroom Action Research. This research was conducted in two cycles. The stages in this study follow the classroom action research procedures, namely: (1) planning, (2) implementation, (3) observation, (4) reflection. The subjects in this study were teachers and students in group B pantai indah kindergarten, amounting to 22 children consist of 7 girls and 15 boys. Based on the results of data analysis of teachers teaching activities in the first cycle as many as 15 aspects obtained a percentage of 86.7% or 13 aspects achieved, the students learning activities in the first cycle as many as 15 aspects obtained a percentage of 80% or 12 aspects achieved and from the results of children’s learning obtained a percentage of 63.6%. The results of the analysis of data teacher teaching activity in the second cycle have increased with the percentage obtained 93.3% in the learning activities of students in the second cycle obtained a percentage of 93.3% and children learning outcomens in improving verbal abilities on singing method in the second cycle was achieved with a percentage amounted to 86.4%. Thus it can be concluded that intelligence of verbal-linguistic ability can be improved on singing methods at the group B pantai indah kindergarten north regency southeast sulawesi.
