Abstract

Masked performance depicting various characters in Panji stories from Java is called Mask Puppet Dance-Drama (Dramatari Wayang Topeng or DWT for short). Panji stories consist of a collection of stories from the Kediri Kingdom themed heroism and love with Panji Asmarabangun and Dewi Sekartaji as the main characters. As the nation's cultural successor, many younger generations have not known the DWT performance. This can threaten the preservation of DWT as one of the nation's cultural heritages to be preserved. This study aimed to examine the process of the DWT inheritance in Asmarabangun Mask Art Gallery (Padepokan Seni Topeng Asmarabangun) through oral tradition. This research was based on the theory of social construction in which a process of meaning done by each individual to himself consists of the process of externalization, internalization, and objectivization. This study used a qualitative method. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentary studies. The data were analyzed using Milles & Huberman's theory of data reduction, presentation and verification. The result of data analysis shows that oral tradition in DWT inheritance process occurs institutionally which requires a process of meaning making by every individual to himself which consists of externalization, internalization and objectivization process. In the process, people can learn about the material either directly or indirectly. People get information and interact to achieve certain goals. The tradition is inherited through the process of seeing, listening, and doing.

Abstract

Kecapi is one of the nation's cultural products that is very popular in almost all communities in Indonesia. As a region that has various types of traditional harp (kecapi), South Sulawesi should be able to maintain the instrument in order to remain exist in the community. The government has made policies on local cultural arts in the form of curriculum by raising the local culture as one of the teaching materials that must be offered to the students. The process of traditional kecapi instruction in South Sulawesi is still using modern methods of music theory as a supporter of traditional kecapi instruction. The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze the development of kitoka as a form of innovation in order to answer the challenges related to the limitations of traditional string instruments especially in the learning process of music in South Sulawesi. In this research there are two types of data, i.e. primary data obtained from observation and direct interview with informants and secondary data as the supplement of the primary data obtained through literature study and documentation. The data that have been obtained through literature study, observation, interview and documentation are divided into categories and analyzed in order to be able to classify them and relate one class of data and the others. The result of this study is that the kitoka musical instrument is developed through innovation by looking at some weaknesses both in the procurement and the visual design of the traditional kecapi. This is certainly able to solve the problem of teaching kecapi in school without having to leave the traditional harp as a cultural product that must be preserved. Kitoka is part of a traditional harp developed on the basis of the needs of the people especially the popular community as it is today.

The results show that (1) the character values taught in PAUD KB Al-Irsyad Al-Islamiyah Cirebon City adopt the kinship system which is one of the local cultural centers in Cirebon City. The local wisdom of the communities in Cirebon is derived from SGJ, especially the sayings of SGJ which imply piety, belief, discipline, wisdom, policy, decency, manners and social life; (2) the character education management that is based on the local wisdom includes planning, implementation, and supervision; (3) the supporting factors in the implementaton of the character education management include the government support, human resources, facilities, programmed activities, support of school residents, parents, and surrounding communities. Abstract

In modern times, technology is always used in all activities in life including guidance and counseling as part of public services. A public service is a service that is based on customer satisfaction so it is important to pay attention to the achievement level of customer satisfaction. The sample of this research is 115 students of Vocational School (SMK) Semarang City, as recipient of the service. This is a quantitative study employing a Path Analysis technique. The result of normality test of the data indicates that all data are normally distributed, free from heteroscedasticity, and avoiding multicollinearity. This research finds facts about what is desired and needed by the recipients of the services to meet the satisfaction of the service they receive. The result of the T-test shows that partially the service quality gives a significant effect on service satisfaction (0.00 <0.05); the service demand gives no significant effect on service satisfaction (0.601> 0.05); as an intervening variable, the service value has no significant effect on service satisfaction (0.917> 0.05). The F-test result proves that simultaneously the service quality, the service demand, and the service value influence service satisfaction. The conclusion is that service quality, service demand, and service value contribute 99.6% to service satisfaction; the rest is a contribution of variables that are not taken into account in this study. It is recommended that the most important service satisfaction is enhanced through service quality with indicators including tangibility, reliability, responsibility, assurance, and empathy.

Abstract

This paper aims to explain the creative process of Masampere music post Zending Tukang from Germany in Sangihe in the late 20th century which influenced the singing culture of the Sangihe community. Using the concept of qualitative research based on a multidisciplinary approach complemented by the concepts of history, anthropology, sociology, and ethnomusicology, this study was used to solve problems through observation, interviews, and literature review and Masampere singing analysis in the community. The arrival of Zending Tukang in Sangihe aims to carry out evangelism through planting a lifestyle in the style of Pietism Calvinism so that the people of Sangihe can get out of traditional lifestyles into creative communities. Evangelism began with the establishment of a school (working stendent) called the Gunung school in Manganitu. Learning at the school was free, all students were trained to farm, work, sew, raise livestock, and trade by selling their work. Music is also the main subject in this school. Meistersinger German-style vocal music is applied by E.T. Steller with the concept of the rhythm pattern of proonos prootos in accapela singing. In addition, church schools also train students to sing. After that, a singing competition with awards and prizes was offered in the race. As a result, a form of singing art emerged with a new style in Sangihe, which was singing a choir in an acclaimed manner with the style of matunjuke, masampere, and mebawalase which the community called Masampere music.

Abstract

The main purpose of this study is to evaluate inclusive-based elementary schools in Indonesia by measuring the technical efficiency of these schools. Data envelopment analysis (DEA) was used to obtain the efficiency scores where there were two popular models; CRS and VRS model. As many as 38 primary schools in Central Jakarta in Indonesia in the period 2014/2015 were determined as decision making units (DMUs) with six inputs and four outputs. The results revealed that CRS (constant returns to scale) model produced as many as 9 schools with efficient performances while VRS (variable returns to scale) model produced as many as 25 schools that performed efficiently whereas there were 12 schools (31.58 percent) had the efficiency scores below the average scores for both CRS and VRS models. Further, the average scores of CRS and VRS models were 0.819 and 0.869, respectively. Overall, elementary schools which implemented inclusive education in Central Jakarta are suggested to improve their performances.
