Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of constructivist strategies in enhancing the speaking skills of students at Al-Kamal Kunir Integrated Islamic Boarding School, Blitar, and Darul Hikmah Modern Boarding School, Tulungagung. The study employed a quantitative approach with an experimental method. The research design used was a quasi-experimental design with a pretest–posttest model. The subjects of the study were intermediate-level students divided into experimental and control groups. Data were collected through questionnaires, observations, and documentation. The obtained data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical tests, including normality tests, homogeneity tests, and t-tests to determine differences in the improvement of speaking skills before and after the implementation of constructivist strategies. The results indicate that the application of constructivist learning strategies significantly impacts the enhancement of students’ speaking skills. This is demonstrated by differences in the mean scores of speaking skills between the experimental and control groups, as well as higher posttest scores compared to pretest scores. Constructivist strategies encourage students to be more active, confident, and directly engaged in the speaking learning process through experience, interaction, and discussion. Therefore, constructivist learning strategies are effective for improving students’ speaking skills in the boarding school context.

Abstract

Teachers' cultural identities in educational practice often do not fully reflect their original ideologies, but rather merge with local identities through complex social interactions. This study aims to examine how teachers with Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) backgrounds negotiate their cultural identities in the context of Muhammadiyah schools through a process of blurring boundaries. This study aims to understand the representation of teachers' identities within the work culture of schools with mismatched beliefs. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study approach. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. The collected data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman's data analysis techniques, which consist of data reduction, data display, and verification. The results indicate that the representation of teachers' identities within the work culture of NU teachers in Muhammadiyah schools involves the negotiation of teachers' cultural identities in religious practices, the flexibility of language and symbols in learning communication, and the teachers' spiritual professionalism and social intelligence in a pluralistic environment. Thus, identity negotiation occurs harmoniously without conflict, as teachers adapt their worship practices, symbols, and communication styles to Muhammadiyah institutional standards while maintaining their personal identities in the private sphere. This negates the notion that teacher identity within the teacher work culture is a form of religious identity negotiation, a form of harmoniously negotiated religious identity within a pluralistic Islamic institution through symbolic practices, communication, and value development.

Abstract

Inclusive education is an effort to fulfill the right to education for all children, including children with special needs. However, its implementation still faces various challenges, particularly in the learning process at Special Schools (SLB). Therefore, increasing teacher productivity is an important factor in improving the quality of special education services. This study aims to analyze the influence of growth mindset, transformational leadership, cooperation, work motivation, and creativity on the work productivity of SLB teachers through the POP-SDM approach with Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) analysis. This study uses a quantitative method with multi-stage random sampling techniques on 140 SLB teachers with civil servant status in the Province of Jakarta. Data collection was conducted through a survey using a questionnaire instrument for each research variable. The research model consisted of three exogenous variables, namely growth mindset, transformational leadership, and cooperation, two intervening variables, namely work motivation and creativity, and one endogenous variable, namely teacher productivity. The results showed that the model met the SEM-PLS model feasibility criteria, had good predictive relevance, and showed strong predictive power based on PLS Predict analysis. The coefficient of determination value indicated that work motivation contributed significantly to teacher productivity

Abstract

The transformation of learning in higher education places digital libraries beyond simply providing information access, but rather as strategic instruments that determine the quality of student performance and learning outcomes. This study aims to comprehensively examine the influence of digital library use and the quality of digital collections on student performance and learning outcomes, with information literacy as a moderating variable. The study used a quantitative approach with an explanatory design using the Structural Equation Modeling method on 200 students of the Graduate School of PGRI Adi Buana University Surabaya, intakes of 2023 to 2025. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using measurement and structural models to test the direct and indirect effects between variables. The results showed that the quality of digital collections significantly influenced student learning outcomes and information literacy, while the use of digital libraries had no direct effect on student performance. Information literacy was shown to have a very strong influence on student performance and played a significant role in mediating the influence of the quality of digital collections and the use of digital libraries on performance and learning outcomes. These findings provocatively emphasize that access and intensity of digital library use will be meaningless without adequate information literacy, thus information literacy emerges as a determining factor that transforms the quality of digital library resources and utilization into tangible academic achievements. This research provides theoretical contributions in strengthening the integrative model of digital library-based learning as well as practical implications for higher education administrators to shift the policy focus from merely technology development to strengthening the quality of collections and student information literacy in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

Corruption remains a crucial issue in Indonesia that requires preventive measures through education, starting with elementary school. Although many studies discuss the inclusion of anti-corruption values, analysis of the pedagogical process of internalizing these values in daily practice is still limited. This qualitative case study aims to analyze the mechanisms of internalizing the values of honesty (shiddiq), justice ('adalah), responsibility (amanah), and caring through Al-Islam learning at Muhammadiyah Kayen Condongcatur Elementary School, Yogyakarta. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation of the principal, teachers, and students, then analyzed using an interactive model. The results show that the internalization of values takes place in an integrated educational ecosystem, not through a single strategy. The process includes integration into learning and school culture, role modeling, habituation, verbal persuasive approaches (advice, ibrah, and amtsal), and strengthening discipline through supervision, educational sanctions, and rewards. These findings confirm that a religious school environment supports the contextual and sustainable internalization of anti-corruption values. The novelty of this research lies in its holistic analysis of the mechanism of internalizing Islamic social ethical values that are fully integrated with the school ecosystem, contributing to the development of anti-corruption education and character education models in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of personality, servant leadership, cultural values, and interpersonal communication on the Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) of private Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) teachers in Tangerang City. The research used the POP-SDM method with a mixed method approach, which began with a qualitative study through interviews, FGDs, and preliminary surveys to identify the dominant variables, then continued with quantitative research using questionnaires on 150 respondents from 17 MIs in three sub-districts. Data analysis was performed using path analysis with the help of SPSS. The results showed that personality, servant leadership, and cultural values had a positive and significant effect on OCB. Servant leadership also had a significant effect on cultural values and interpersonal communication. Personality had a significant effect on interpersonal communication but did not have a significant effect on cultural values. Several indirect effects indicate that interpersonal communication acts as an intervening variable in the relationship between personality and OCB as well as between servant leadership and OCB. The differences in results from previous studies are influenced by the research context in the madrasah educational environment. This study confirms that teachers' OCB can be improved through personality strengthening, the application of servant leadership, the reinforcement of organizational cultural values, and the optimization of interpersonal communication as intervening variables.

Abstract

Sustainable Human Resource Management (Sustainable HRM) has become a critical strategic concern as organizations seek to balance performance demands with long-term sustainability. While reward systems are widely recognized as essential HR mechanisms, empirical evidence explaining how they contribute to Sustainable HRM remains limited and inconclusive. This study examines the role of reward systems in fostering Sustainable HRM through the mediating mechanisms of employee commitment, employee culture, situational leadership, and employee performance. Using a quantitative explanatory design, data were collected from 360 managerial-level employees across five companies in West Java, Indonesia. Structural Equation Modeling with Partial Least Squares (PLS-SEM) was employed to test the proposed relationships and mediation effects. The results reveal that reward systems significantly strengthen employee commitment, employee culture, and situational leadership, but do not directly influence employee performance or Sustainable HRM. Among the organizational factors examined, situational leadership emerged as the only significant predictor of employee performance. Furthermore, employee performance was found to have a strong and direct effect on Sustainable HRM, while other variables showed no direct impact. Mediation analysis confirms that employee performance partially mediates the relationship between situational leadership and Sustainable HRM. These findings suggest that reward systems function as foundational enablers rather than direct drivers of sustainability-oriented HR outcomes. Sustainable HRM is achieved primarily through leadership-driven performance mechanisms rather than through reward allocation alone. This study contributes to Sustainable HRM literature by clarifying the internal pathways through which HR practices translate into sustainable outcomes, particularly within emerging economy contexts.

Abstract

The development of Integrated Islamic Elementary Schools (SDIT) in Banda Aceh reflects the diverse dynamics of efforts to integrate national education, Islamic values, and local wisdom in Aceh. However, studies specifically examining the process of strengthening local wisdom through extracurricular activities in integrated Islamic education remain limited. This study aims to deeply examine the transformation of strengthening Acehnese local wisdom through extracurricular activities and reveal the characteristics and advantages of implementing integrated Islamic education in SDITs in Banda Aceh. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach using a case study method at three Integrated Islamic Elementary Schools (SDIT); SD Islam Al-Azhar Cairo Banda Aceh, SDIT Nurul Ishlah Banda Aceh, and SDIT Quantum School Aceh. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis, and were then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model with triangulation techniques to ensure validity. The results of the study demonstrate that extracurricular activities play a pivotal role in reinforcing and enhancing the values of Aceh's Islamic-based local wisdom. These values include Islamic manners, discipline, unity, responsibility, social awareness, and a love for Aceh's Islamic culture. This transformation occurs contextually through habituation, educators' examples, and direct learning experiences. Additionally, integrated Islamic education in Banda Aceh has developed adaptively and is not homogeneous. Each SDIT has different characteristics and strengths, ranging from integrating technology and memorizing the Qur'an to adopting the multiple intelligences approach. These findings confirm that strengthening local wisdom through extracurricular activities is an effective, sustainable strategy for shaping students' religious and cultural identities. This strategy can be adapted and applied in different contexts without losing the fundamental values of Islam and local wisdom. This makes it relevant for addressing the challenges of basic education in the modern era.

Abstract

Violence in schools, whether physical, verbal, psychological, or social, remains a serious problem that threatens a safe and character-building educational climate. Bullying, intimidation, and social exclusion not only impact students' academic achievement but also impact their mental health, self-confidence, and personality development. One approach considered effective and contextual in preventing violence in schools is the implementation of the Buddy Program, a peer mentoring program that systematically connects students in supportive, egalitarian, and socially conscious relationships. The purpose of this study was to analyze the strengthening of the Buddy Program as a preventive strategy to suppress and prevent acts of violence in schools. This research used a qualitative approach with a case study design, focusing on educational units that have implemented the Buddy Program as part of their character-building and violence prevention policies. The results showed that strengthening the Buddy Program was able to build more positive social relationships among students, increase empathy, and strengthen social support networks within the school environment. The presence of buddies provides a safe space for students vulnerable to violence to express their feelings, share problems, and receive emotional support
