Abstract

Resilience is the ability of a community to adapt, survive, and recover from various challenges and pressures faced, whether from environmental, social, or economic factors. This study aims to identify the forms of resilience and adaptation strategies carried out by the pa'perre-perre fishing community in Maccini Sombala Village, as well as to determine the supporting and inhibiting factors of resilience in the pa'perre-perre fishing community in Maccini Sombala Village. This study was conducted in December 2024-January 2025. This study uses a qualitative descriptive analysis method, and the determination of informants uses a purposive sampling method with data collection through in-depth interviews, observations, and literature studies, and documentation. The results of the study show resilience to modernization through ecological, social, and economic adaptation. Adaptation strategies include adjusting fishing patterns, strengthening community solidarity based on Siri' na Pacce values, and utilizing technology such as GPS and LED lights. This innovation increases the efficiency of anchovy fishing, although fishermen still face challenges such as limited capital and digital literacy.

Abstract

This community service activity aimed to enhance the capacity of tilapia farmers at the UPR Kampung Tengah, Gowa Regency, in producing locally based, self-formulated feed. The main problem faced by farmers was the high cost of commercial feed, which accounted for 60–70% of total production expenses. To address this issue, a training program was conducted consisting of socialization on tilapia nutritional requirements, selection of local feed ingredients (such as rice bran, fish meal, snail meal, and vitamin mix), and direct demonstrations of the pellet feed production process. The implementation methods included a pre-test, material presentation, post-test, and hands-on feed-making practice assisted by internship students. The results showed a significant improvement in participants’ understanding, with the average score increasing from 3.6 (pre-test) to 9.1 (post-test), indicating a gain of 5.5 points. Participants were also able to practice the feed processing stages, including grinding, mixing, molding, and drying. This training not only provided theoretical knowledge but also equipped farmers with practical skills in independent feed production, thereby reducing dependence on factory-made feed, lowering production costs, and promoting greater self-reliance and sustainability in tilapia aquaculture enterprises.

This study aims to determine the form and role of local institutions in fishing activities in Pundata Baji Village, Labakkang District, Pangkep Regency. This study was conducted from October 2024 to January 2025. This study used qualitative descriptive analysis and informant perception analysis using a Likert scale with data collection through interviews, observation, documentation, and literature study. The informants for this study were people whose livelihoods were in the fisheries sector, including fishermen, seaweed farmers, and fish farmers. During the field research, the researcher obtained 26 informants, and using the guidelines for determining informants, a total of 19 main informants were selected as references for providing information. The results of the study show that the existence of local community institutions such as punggawa sawi, sipakatongeng, nakasa, pappalele, and mabbulo sibatang in fishing activities plays an important role in the sustainability of the fishing industry.
