Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology has transformed higher education, particularly through the implementation of Learning Management Systems (LMS) in online learning. LMS functions not only as a technological tool but also as a psychological environment that influences how students regulate their learning, interpret academic experiences, and manage emotional responses. Therefore, this study aims to explore students’ psychological dynamics in LMS-based learning, focusing on psychological adaptation, learning motivation, and emotional well-being within digital learning environments. This study employed a qualitative approach using Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) to understand how students subjectively construct meaning from their lived experiences in online learning. Data were collected through in-depth semi-structured interviews with students who actively used LMS and analyzed through iterative reading, coding, and thematic development to identify core psychological themes. The findings revealed three major themes: psychological adaptation and self-regulation, student motivation and engagement, and emotional experience and psychological well-being. Initially, students experienced confusion and difficulty managing independent learning; however, over time, they developed greater autonomy, self-discipline, and academic confidence. LMS enhanced motivation through flexible access, interactive features, and feedback, although technical challenges occasionally caused frustration and reduced engagement. Additionally, LMS provided emotional comfort and flexibility but also introduced risks of isolation and digital fatigue. The implications of this study suggest that LMS should be understood not only as an instructional technology but also as a psychological learning environment that shapes students’ cognitive, emotional, and motivational development.

Abstract

The rapid expansion of digital technologies has transformed civic engagement by enabling digital activism as a powerful medium for public participation, social advocacy, and democratic expression. While these developments strengthen citizen engagement, they also create significant legal challenges in balancing freedom of expression with the need to maintain public order and prevent digital misconduct. This study reconstructs the legal enforcement framework governing digital activism in the era of technological disruption by identifying regulatory deficiencies, evaluating current enforcement practices, and proposing a more adaptive and rights-based legal model. The research employs a qualitative normative legal methodology complemented by a socio-legal perspective. It analyzes statutory regulations, legal doctrines, judicial decisions, and policy frameworks concerning digital expression and online activism. Data were collected through a systematic review of legal documents, scholarly literature, and policy reports, then examined using conceptual and comparative legal analysis to identify structural weaknesses within existing enforcement mechanisms. The findings demonstrate that current enforcement remains largely rooted in conventional regulatory paradigms that inadequately address the complexity of digital activism. Ambiguous legal provisions, overlapping institutional authorities, and inconsistent enforcement practices generate legal uncertainty and increase the risk of over-criminalizing legitimate civic expression. Furthermore, the absence of clear legal standards governing digital advocacy, online mobilization, and algorithm-driven information dissemination complicates effective enforcement and weakens legal certainty. This study proposes a reconstructed enforcement framework grounded in the principles of proportionality, transparency, accountability, and digital rights protection. The framework emphasizes adaptive regulation, integrated digital governance, institutional capacity building, and clearer legal standards for technology-mediated civic participation. By bridging technological realities with constitutional safeguards, the proposed model contributes to contemporary legal scholarship on digital governance while offering practical policy recommendations for developing a more balanced, accountable, and responsive legal system capable of addressing the evolving challenges of the digital era.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of Learning Management System (LMS) management on learning outcomes and Islamic character development among students of Madrasah Aliyah through an explanatory quantitative research design. The study conceptualises Islamic character development not as a subject-specific religious outcome, but as an institutional and managerial outcome of systematically managed digital learning environments. LMS management is operationalised as the structured use of digital platforms to support planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of learning processes within madrasahs. The research analyses the relationship between LMS usage and two key dependent variables: cognitive learning outcomes and Islamic character development, encompassing honesty, discipline, responsibility, digital ethics, and empathy. Data were collected using a structured Likert-scale questionnaire administered to 120 students who had been actively using the LMS for at least 1 academic semester. The collected data were analysed using multiple regression techniques to examine the magnitude and significance of the relationships between variables. The results indicate that LMS management has a statistically significant and positive influence on both learning outcomes and Islamic character development. The effect of LMS management on learning outcomes was found to be stronger (β = 0.562, p < 0.01) than its effect on Islamic character development (β = 0.494, p < 0.01), suggesting that LMS is more effective in supporting cognitive achievement than in fostering character development. Further analysis shows that LMS usage explains 41.6% of the variance in students’ learning outcomes and 36.5% of the variance in Islamic character development. Despite these positive findings, the study reveals that the integration of Islamic values into LMS platforms remains limited, with only 50% of the surveyed madrasahs reporting the effective implementation of Islamic value-based digital learning content. This limitation indicates that character development through LMS has not yet been systematically planned or institutionally governed, but remains largely incidental. The findings highlight the need for stronger pedagogical planning, institutional coordination, and strategic content development to optimise the LMS's role in supporting holistic student development.

Abstract

This study analyzes the communication strategies of the Komisi Pemilihan Umum (KPU Rembang) in enhancing public participation during the Regional Head Election. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through interviews, field observations, and document analysis, then examined using thematic analysis to identify key patterns in KPU’s communication practices. The findings reveal that KPU Rembang’s communication strategy is integrated, adaptive, and participatory. The institution combines traditional communication channels such as face-to-face meetings, local radio, and community gatherings with digital media through active use of Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube platforms. The messages are tailored to different audience segments, including young voters, women, rural communities, and persons with disabilities, supported by local opinion leaders and volunteer networks who act as trusted intermediaries between the commission and the public. Despite these successes, several challenges persist, including limited digital infrastructure in rural areas, low digital literacy among older populations, and the spread of misinformation during the election period. KPU Rembang responded by implementing community-based communication resilience, strengthening internal coordination, and maintaining strategic message consistency. The study concludes that public communication serves not only as an informational tool but also as a democratic infrastructure that fosters trust, political literacy, and civic ownership of the electoral process. The results contribute to the broader discourse on political communication in Indonesia and offer practical insights for election management bodies seeking to design inclusive and trust-based public communication strategies.
