Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of lifestyle on the personal financial conditions of Generation Z, individuals born between 1997 and 2012. The research employs a quantitative method by distributing questionnaires to 34 respondents aged 18–27 years, and the data are analyzed using simple linear regression. The results indicate that lifestyle has a significant effect on personal financial conditions, as demonstrated by the t-calculated value (3.047) > t-table (2.037) and a significance level of 0.005 < 0.05. The higher the level of a consumptive lifestyle, the greater the likelihood of disturbances in personal financial conditions. These findings emphasize the importance of financial literacy education to help Generation Z manage their finances wisely.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the survival strategies and forms of adaptation carried out by Pertashop Mini business actors in Bungku Regency, Morowali in facing internal and external challenges. Pertashop Mini businesses, as part of the micro energy distribution program by PT Pertamina, have an important role in expanding energy access in rural areas. However, business actors face various challenges, such as limited fuel supplies, high operational costs, competition with illegal retailers, and minimal technical support and training. Using a descriptive qualitative approach and data collection techniques in the form of semi-structured interviews, field observations, and documentation studies, this study found that common survival strategies applied include operational efficiency, strict stock management, and focus on loyal customers. Meanwhile, adaptation is carried out through the use of simple technology, service innovation, and strengthening social relations with the surrounding community. Local social capital, such as community trust and support from village officials, is a key factor in maintaining business continuity. This study concludes that the success of business actors in surviving and adapting is greatly influenced by the ability to manage social resources and respond to local market dynamics. Recommendations are given to business actors, local governments, and BUMDes to strengthen technical support, entrepreneurship training, and institutional collaboration for the sustainability of businesses in the micro energy distribution sector.

Abstract

This study explores the financial behavior of Generation Z students in using e-wallets as a form of adaptation to a cashless society. The study employed a descriptive qualitative method with data collected through in-depth interviews involving five students from Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar who actively use e-wallets. The findings show that students are attracted to e-wallets due to convenience, fast transactions, and promotional rewards such as cashback. However, many of them display impulsive buying behavior, lack financial planning, and do not keep records of their expenses. Furthermore, digital security awareness is still low, as most respondents do not apply preventive measures such as two-factor authentication. The cashless-supportive environment on campus also contributes to their daily digital payment habits. This research recommends implementing digital financial literacy programs and raising awareness on digital security risks to encourage wiser and safer e-wallet usage among Gen Z students.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze financial record-keeping practices among independent oil palm farmers in North Kalimantan, using a case study of Pak Muktar, a farmer managing a 3.6-hectare oil palm plantation. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method through in-depth interviews and documentation. The results show that the farmer does not maintain written financial records; all income and expenses are only remembered mentally. This condition leads to uncertainty in knowing operational costs and business profitability, difficulty in financial planning, and vulnerability to fluctuations in fresh fruit bunch (FFB) prices and harvest yields. The study concludes that simple financial record-keeping is essential to help farmers separate business and household finances, improve cost efficiency, and strengthen family economic resilience. Practical assistance is needed to help farmers develop the habit of recording finances in a simple and consistent manner.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the experiences of broiler chicken farmers in running a business with a partnership and independent system in Bulukumba Regency. The method used in this study is a qualitative approach with a case study design, which involves in-depth interviews with broiler chicken farmers who apply both systems. The results of the study indicate that farmers who use a partnership system tend to feel greater support from partners, including in terms of access to capital, training, and product marketing. However, they also face challenges related to dependence on partners and profit sharing that is not always fair. On the other hand, farmers who run their businesses independently have the freedom to make decisions and manage their businesses, but often face difficulties in terms of access to resources and markets. These findings provide important insights into the dynamics faced by broiler chicken farmers in Bulukumba Regency, as well as implications for the development of policies and practices in the livestock sector. This study is expected to be a reference for farmers, academics, and stakeholders in improving the sustainability of broiler chicken farming businesses in the area.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the profit-sharing system between landowners and tenant farmers in Pancaitana sub-district. The research uses a descriptive qualitative method through interviews, observation, and documentation involving four informants. The findings show that the profit-sharing system is based on mutual agreement and trust, often carried out orally without a written contract. Two profit-sharing patterns were found: 1:1 when costs are shared, and 1:2 in favor of the cultivator when they bear all costs. The system aligns with Islamic economic principles, emphasizing justice, voluntarism, and mutual benefit. However, the absence of written agreements poses potential legal risks.

Abstract

This study addresses the limited fiscal awareness among high school students and explores how a participatory approach can foster a better understanding of public budgeting concepts. A one-day community service program was conducted on May 17, 2025, at Sangkhom Islam Wittaya School, Hatyai, Thailand, involving 27 students and several teachers. The program was facilitated by four lecturers and four students from three universities in South Sulawesi, Indonesia: Hasanuddin University, West Sulawesi University, and Muhammadiyah University of Makassar. Using a modified Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach as the educational method, the activity was structured into planning, action, and reflection stages, incorporating interactive workshops, group discussions, and simulated budget allocation exercises. Data were collected through facilitator observations, student responses, and feedback. Findings indicate that students demonstrated an increased understanding of how public resources are managed and the importance of fiscal transparency. This article concludes that experiential and collaborative methods such as PAR are effective in fostering fiscal awareness among youth.
