Abstract

This study aims to explore the experiences of broiler chicken farmers in running a business with a partnership and independent system in Bulukumba Regency. The method used in this study is a qualitative approach with a case study design, which involves in-depth interviews with broiler chicken farmers who apply both systems. The results of the study indicate that farmers who use a partnership system tend to feel greater support from partners, including in terms of access to capital, training, and product marketing. However, they also face challenges related to dependence on partners and profit sharing that is not always fair. On the other hand, farmers who run their businesses independently have the freedom to make decisions and manage their businesses, but often face difficulties in terms of access to resources and markets. These findings provide important insights into the dynamics faced by broiler chicken farmers in Bulukumba Regency, as well as implications for the development of policies and practices in the livestock sector. This study is expected to be a reference for farmers, academics, and stakeholders in improving the sustainability of broiler chicken farming businesses in the area.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the profit-sharing system between landowners and tenant farmers in Pancaitana sub-district. The research uses a descriptive qualitative method through interviews, observation, and documentation involving four informants. The findings show that the profit-sharing system is based on mutual agreement and trust, often carried out orally without a written contract. Two profit-sharing patterns were found: 1:1 when costs are shared, and 1:2 in favor of the cultivator when they bear all costs. The system aligns with Islamic economic principles, emphasizing justice, voluntarism, and mutual benefit. However, the absence of written agreements poses potential legal risks.

Abstract

This study addresses the limited fiscal awareness among high school students and explores how a participatory approach can foster a better understanding of public budgeting concepts. A one-day community service program was conducted on May 17, 2025, at Sangkhom Islam Wittaya School, Hatyai, Thailand, involving 27 students and several teachers. The program was facilitated by four lecturers and four students from three universities in South Sulawesi, Indonesia: Hasanuddin University, West Sulawesi University, and Muhammadiyah University of Makassar. Using a modified Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach as the educational method, the activity was structured into planning, action, and reflection stages, incorporating interactive workshops, group discussions, and simulated budget allocation exercises. Data were collected through facilitator observations, student responses, and feedback. Findings indicate that students demonstrated an increased understanding of how public resources are managed and the importance of fiscal transparency. This article concludes that experiential and collaborative methods such as PAR are effective in fostering fiscal awareness among youth.

Abstract

Banks under Islamic principles seem to affect the probability of problematic managerial behavior in determining earnings. This study determines whether Islamic banking managers' discretion in reporting earnings is efficient or opportunistic. The sample of this study was Islamic commercial banks in Indonesia. The data was obtained from Bank Indonesia and Financial Services Authority. Their financial statements from 2010 to 2016 were analyzed using Moderated Regression Analysis. Abstract

This research aims to predict financial distress at PT Surya Pangan Indonesia using the Grover model and analyze the results using the Springate model. The study employs quantitative data sourced from the financial reports of PT Surya Pangan Indonesia for the years 2018, 2019, and 2020. The data analysis technique involves calculating financial ratios and applying the Grover and Springate models to determine the company's financial health. According to the Springate model, a score above 1.062 indicates a healthy financial condition, while a score below 0.862 suggests a serious threat of bankruptcy. The results reveal that in 2018 and 2019, PT Surya Pangan Indonesia was in a healthy financial state with Springate scores of 3.748 and 1.174, respectively. However, in 2020, the score dropped to 0.564, indicating severe financial distress. The decline is attributed to decreased profitability and sales amid the pandemic and fluctuating corn prices. This study underscores the importance of early financial distress detection using predictive models, enabling companies to implement corrective measures before reaching a crisis. The findings suggest that PT Surya Pangan Indonesia must enhance its financial management strategies to prevent future distress. Additionally, future researchers are encouraged to compare different financial distress prediction models, such as the Ohlson and Altman models, to develop a more comprehensive understanding of financial health in the Indonesian business context.
