Abstract

UPN “Veteran” of East Java, Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia is a state university with State Defense characteristic which have its own vision, mission and reputation both on the national and international level. The reputation proven by the A rank in university accreditation scale (AIPT A). At this phase, infrastructure had become essential factor and therefore also become an important background of physical image. One of the physical image development effort is by optimizing the sign system on the campus building. On such basis, this study aims to fix the infrastructure through an integrated sign system. The sign system meticulously designed based on research to communicate the values of State Defense as well as the characteristics of UPN “Veteran” of East Java. The data collection in this research uses quantitative research methodology and supported by qualitative method. This research is conducted at UPN “Veteran” of East Java involving active campus residents. The research is also supported by design-related journals and books.

Abstract

Coastal areas have the potential to thrive in today's era, there are some sectors in the development of coastal areas, because the coastal areas have a very large turnover. At this time the government has been implementing development Surabaya coast. Starting with the construction of the longest bridge in 2004, to date Suramadu bridge provides a very significant impact. Through government Bappeko Surabaya Surabaya developing coastal infrastructure for Surabaya as a public space, with the development of this public space Surabaya government to change the negative image into a positive. Surabaya coastal areas as the initial development of the city of Surabaya as a development step, the coastal area of Surabaya city is divided by some regions of sub-districts and subdistricts Kenjeran Bulak, this region will be developed by the government through Bappeko Surabaya Surabaya. The development of this region is expected to be able to provide a balance to the economy of the coastal area of Surabaya society. This balance is expected to be able to run all the elements that exist in coastal communities Surabaya. At this time the coastal area of Surabaya do not have the image to get an impression of the relevant economics that can be sold to an investor or business owner who can develop the coastal area of Surabaya. It can be seen from the lack of functioning infrastructure such as public facilities and less well-organized travel path elements in the coastal district of Surabaya.

Abstract

Batik is one of the superior products in Indonesia, Batik products stretching from Sabang to Merauke. The famous batik product in Indonesia is Madura Batik, which has special characteristics in Indonesia. CV Bintang Abadi which houses several batik makers in Batik Klampar Village, Kec. Proppo, Kab. Pamekasan has advantages in terms of color and batik design. As revealed in previous studies, if the advantage is believed to be hereditary from families who had previously pursued Batik. Besides Batik Klampar has the advantage of products that can be proud of in the District. Pamekasan because it is quite well known in Madura. The problem of CV Bintang Abadi which houses several Batik Klampar crafters is that they do not yet know the brand, and do not know how to reach markets outside the city of Pamekasan. As a result, in CV Bintang Abadi in particular, and Batik centers in Klampar Village in general are mostly marketed by other parties with different names, besides that Batik Klampar center products become less developed because they only become producers that sell in the Pamekasan region with competitors in the Klampar batik alone and are less well schemed with managerial product marketing. Through the service of the RISMI scheme, it is hoped that there will be a tactical scheme to support and improve the rule model of the communication strategy of the CV Bintang Abadi promotion which houses several Batik Klampar Villages through applied technology production in the form of Android Applications, and Online Marketing as a result of previous research. Applied service with the RISMI scheme will be carried out in Klampar Village, Proppo District, and Pamekasan Regency. This service will not only implement technology, but there will be an approach related to the business assistance of Batik Klampar products involving DKV and Architecture Study Programs and Students in both study programs

Abstract

Photography in today's era is a device that is always there and used by every human being. Before the emergence of photography techniques, the media was dominated by illustration techniques used for story media with graphic novels or comics. However, over time, photography was also able to perform digital engineering schemes to create visual models and illustration techniques, but it was not popular. To support the development of photography techniques in various fields, a continuous discussion is needed so that each research can define photography as a technique to convey messages, especially in media that require pictorial stories. This research stage will reveal the initial stages and the factors that can be applied in further research. Therefore, this research is classified as a descriptive study as the initial discussion of the research. This study will use a qualitative approach by collecting literature observation data and comparing selected visual samples.

Abstract

Cleanliness and waste management were common problems in city planning. The factors of the city's problems have been a varieticalistic discovery, ranging from flooding to a health factor from an unclean environment. The waste management in Surabaya is good enough but not all equally equal, especially in suburbs. This overcrowding undermines waste management, whereas Surabaya has already created a clear path to organizing the waste until mode of bus transportation that the payment based in exchange waste. It is considering it has not been able to enable people in suburbs to understand and implement the discipline on waste management. To bring the people in diciplines requires interesting methods, and motivate the people to do so. In the scholarly of design visual communication this method is called a social campaign, the objective in this research of this social campaign, to make the most nonessential organic and unorganic waste to be usefull. Data are taken from coastal area in Surabaya specifically in Tambak Wedi, Kenjeran. The population density and unclean enviroment in this area become a proper place to study. The methods used in this study are qualitative, with observational approaches to people, social experiment trials and socialization activities. This research is an applied public study, whose hope through this research that people are able to change their habits and understand about waste management

Abstract

Fotografi adalah teknik yang selalu ada dalam kehidupan kita, tidak jarang dalam teknik fotografi selalu menampilkan sisi yang realistik pada setiap visual. Korporat dan UMKM tidak jarang selalu menggunakan teknik fotografi pada medianya, namun selama ini strategi dan model visualnya selalu menggunakan teknik fotografi pada media. Urgensi pada penelitian ini yang menarik untuk dikaji dan di paparkan dalam artikel penelitian ini. Penelitian dengan judul “Strategi Visual Untuk Menyampaikan Citra Korporat Dan UMKM Ke Stakehokder Melalui Teknik Fotografi” mengambil studi kasus pada visual fotografi PT Swabina Gatra (anak perusahaan Semen Indonesia) dan UMKM Batik, CV Bintang Abadi. Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif, dan mendukung pola merancang dengan teknik fotografi pada media. Pengumpulan data menggunakan metode pengumpulan portofolio dari kedua sampe diatas, selain itu penelitian ini melakukan wawancara, observasi dan literatur ilmiah.

Abstract

Indonesia is a unique country, which has thousands of customs and traditions. The mystical encounter has become an interesting reality in the customs and traditions of Indonesia. The film Satan Jawa, which was initiated by filmmaker Garin Nugroho, looks at the paradigm and mystical encounter that exists in the reality of Indonesian society. That film is “Satan Jawa”, which is a colossal mystical film set in the Gamelan Orchestra. Interestingly, this film is not shown in every cinema, YouTube or paid film portals. Therefore, the reviewer's perspective will give a different reaction in each perspective. The aim of this research in the film Satan Jawa is to study a female figure, namely Asih as Setio's wife in the film Satan Jawa. Asih's central role in the film determines the plot of the film. The research method approach in the film Satan Jawa is through observation in the field, during the screening of the film Satan Jawa at the Theater Besar of the Indonesian Art Institute, Surakarta.

Abstract

The role of micro, small and medium enterprises is very important in the effort to build the economy in Indonesia in the era of disruption because of its significant contribution to job creation and improving people's welfare. Problems that often arise in micro, small and medium enterprises include limited capital, lack of innovation, inaccurate distribution/distribution (conventional marketing, inadequate innovation, inefficient in managing finances, technology ignorance so that online marketing is not optimal). The objectives of this research are (a) to describe the product branding innovation of micro, small and medium enterprises of Kampoeng batik Jetis Sidoarjo Regency; (b) describe the supporting factors and the inhibiting factors for the branding innovation of the micro, small and medium enterprises of Kampoeng Batik Jetis Sidoarjo Regency. The research, which is located in Kampoeng Batik Jetis Sidoarjo, uses qualitative research methods. The reason for choosing this topic is that the micro, small and medium enterprises of Kampoeng Batik Jetis Sidoarjo Regency are limited in the management of their business branding so that their marketing is limited. The conclusions of the present research are 1) The innovation of product branding for micro, small and medium enterprises of Kampoeng Batik Jetis Sidoarjo Regency has not been carried out optimally. Jetis batik craftsmen in Sidoarjo Regency tend to follow their predecessors. Branding is built by providing logos, opening galleries, opening batik training, giving good service, giving craftsmen business cards. 2) The factors that support the product branding innovation of Kampoeng Batik Jetis Sidoarjo Regency are (a) very high market potential; (a) The selling price is relatively affordable to the public; (c) is a unique product; (d) Has unique characteristics; (e) The government is committed to developing micro, small and medium enterprises; (f) the not yet mushrooming of batik handicrafts in Indonesia; and (g) Opened market share.

Abstract

Exploitation of children under the age of 13 in Indonesia is a serious social problem, covering economic, sexual and social exploitation. This research aims to design an educational video titled "Emergency Child Exploitation" that uses visual media, particularly videography, as an effective communication tool to raise public awareness. The approach used in this research is a semiotic analysis of the visual and narrative elements in the video. Through Roland Barthes' semiotic theory, the video is analyzed to reveal the denotative and connotative meanings contained in symbols, colors, gestures, sounds, and other visual elements. The results of the analysis show that the semiotic elements in this video, such as children playing, scavengers, and crowded streets, provide deep meanings about freedom, economic inequality, and the pressures of urban life. This research not only produces a video as a social campaign tool, but also enriches academic studies in visual communication studies. This educational video is expected to be an effective tool in building public awareness and reducing child exploitation through a meaningful visual approach.

Abstract

The development of AI has fundamentally transformed the professional ecosystem, creating a series of contemporary challenges for Generation Z preparing to enter the work arena. This study focuses on the development of motion graphic storyboards as an educational instrument to enhance Generation Z's employability capabilities for the AI era. Implementing a hybrid research methodology, data collection was conducted through digital surveys and in-depth dialog with experts to explore perceptions on the implications of AI on employment and the strategic competencies needed to adapt. The research findings indicate that Generation Z shows substantial awareness of the urgency of skills upgrading and transfer, although there is still a lack of clarity in understanding the concrete consequences of AI on future employment prospects. The motion graphic design developed presents an adaptive approach through an engaging storyline, narrative visualization, and interactive character elements, with an emphasis on the concepts of T-Shaped Skills and Transferable Skills. The research concludes that professional readiness in the era of AI digitalization requires not only technological understanding, but also adaptive flexibility, creativity, and synergy between human capacity and digital systems. Motion graphics were identified as the optimal medium to convey knowledge and strengthen Generation Z's position in anticipating future professional dynamics.
