Abstract

The story of the Prophet Yusuf (a.s.) in the Qur'an contains psychological values that are suitable to be studied from the perspective of preventive psychology. This study aims to analyze the dynamics of the relationship between Prophet Yusuf and his father, brothers, and Zulaikha as an illustration of the process of personality formation, emotional management, and self-control in the face of psychological pressure. The method used is a qualitative study with a literature study approach, namely studying the verses of Surah Yusuf. The results of the study show that the Prophet Ya'qub's affection and trust played an important role in building the moral fortitude of the Prophet Yusuf, while the conflict with his brothers reflected the negative impact of unmanaged envy. In addition, the temptation that came from Zulaikha showed the importance of piety and self-control as a form of prevention against deviant behavior. In conclusion, the story of the Prophet Joseph provides a preventive lesson about the importance of fostering moral values, managing emotions, and a healthy environment in maintaining an individual's psychological balance.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of digital visual media in improving the prayer practice skills of second-grade elementary school students. The research was conducted, involving 28 second-grade students. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach adapted from the model proposed by Borg and Gall, consisting of needs analysis, product design, validation, revision, limited trials, and field trials. The developed product was an interactive digital visual learning media containing animated movements, audio guidance, and step-by-step instructions for performing prayer (shalat). Data were collected through observation sheets, performance assessment rubrics, questionnaires, and documentation. The results showed that the digital visual media was categorized as highly feasible based on expert validation (92% media feasibility and 94% material feasibility). Furthermore, students’ prayer practice skills significantly improved, with the average score increasing from 68 (pre-test) to 87 (post-test). The findings indicate that digital visual media effectively enhances students’ practical prayer skills and increases learning engagement.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the process and mechanisms of constructing students' humanistic character, including empathy, tolerance, and social concern, thru the extracurricular program of the Muhammadiyah Student Association (IPM) at SMA Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta. The research uses a qualitative approach with a case study design to gain an in-depth understanding of the dynamics of value internalization within the context of student organizations. Data were collected thru participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana. The research results show that the construction of humanistic character occurs thru the integration of authentic social experiences, organizational deliberation mechanisms, participatory habituation, and the exemplary behavior of mentors and administrators. Empathy is constructed thru direct involvement in social activities; tolerance is formed thru deliberative practices and collective conflict resolution, while social concern is reinforced thru the equitable distribution of roles and responsibilities. These findings affirm that IPM functions as a space for the construction of contextual and sustainable humanistic values within the framework of progressive Islamic education.
