Abstract

Penelitian ini menilai pengaruh media pembelajaran big book terhadap kemampuan membaca permulaan pada siswa kelas II SD, mengingat rendahnya minat baca dan kurangnya antusiasme siswa. Menggunakan desain pra-eksperimen Pre-Test Post-Test Design tanpa kelompok kontrol, penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi efek media Big book pada kemampuan membaca siswa. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes membaca dan soal pilihan berganda, dan hasil analisis deskriptif menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media Big book meningkatkan hasil belajar membaca siswa. Analisis inferensial dengan uji t menghasilkan t_Hitung = 11,30, melebihi t_Tabel = 1,72 pada taraf signifikansi 5%, sehingga hipotesis nol ditolak dan hipotesis alternatif diterima, membuktikan adanya pengaruh positif media Big book terhadap kemampuan membaca permulaan.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of literacy culture in improving students’ composing ability in Indonesian subjects in secondary schools with a qualitative approach to case studies. The subject of this study is a group of students in one of the secondary schools who have applied literacy activities regularly in learning Indonesian. Data was collected through classroom observations, in-depth interviews, and analysis of student writing products. The findings of the study show that the application of literacy culture in the classroom is able to improve students’ composing skills in terms of organizing ideas, creative expression, and using more appropriate and varied language. In addition, teacher support factors and a conducive school environment also accelerate the development of students’ writing skills. Literacy culture can play a significant role in improving students’ composing skills, although its application requires careful planning and consistency in its implementation.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low ability of students at MA Muhammadiyah 01 Medan to write anecdotal texts, which requires innovative learning media to make the learning process more engaging and effective. The primary objective of this research was to develop a character video learning media that is valid, practical, and effective in improving the anecdotal text writing skills of tenth-grade students. The study employed a Research and Development (RD) approach using the ADDIE model, which includes analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The research subjects consisted of tenth-grade students and experts who validated the content, media, and language aspects. Data collection techniques included observation, expert validation questionnaires, practicality questionnaires for teachers and students, and post-tests to measure students’ learning outcomes. Expert validation results indicated that the character video media is highly feasible for use, with high validity scores. Practicality tests from teacher questionnaires scored 97%, student questionnaires scored 89%, and learning implementation scored 91, all categorized as very good, indicating that the media is highly suitable and easy to apply in the learning process. Moreover, post-test results showed a significant improvement in students’ ability to write anecdotal texts after using the character video media. These findings confirm that the use of character video media provides a more interactive and contextual learning experience compared to conventional methods such as lectures. This study contributes significantly to the development of digital learning media, particularly for Indonesian language subjects, and can serve as a reference for educators in creating learning materials that align with students’ needs and interests.

Abstract

An in-depth analysis of the reading challenges encountered by kids in second grade, the factors that amplify these challenges, and the strategies used by second grade teachers to address these concerns are the primary goals of this research. A qualitative research technique is used in this study. The method used is qualitative descriptive analysis. The research included both the students and teachers of Class II. Methods of data collection for this research include recording, observing, and interviewing participants. Based on the findings of this research, second graders often struggle with reading because they either do not know the letters yet, have trouble stringing them into words, leave out letters when reading, stutter when reading, or pronounce them backwards. replace "u" with "n" or "b" with "d". Students' poor memorization skills and a lack of parental instruction at home are the limiting variables that contribute to their reading challenges. Teachers adopt the method of giving students who struggle with reading and learning media more time to read at break periods on a rotating basis.

Abstract

Kajian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan menyediakan media pembelajaran berbasis blog berupa link akses yang valid, efektif, dan praktis bagi pelajar yang duduk di bangku SMP Negeri 3 Halongonan Timur kelas VII pada materi pantun. Lagu ini dibuat dengan platform blogger dan mengikuti pola desain analysis, design, development, implementation, dan evaluation (ADDIE). Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik research and development dengan instrumental kajian berupa lembar validasi dari ahli bahasa, ahli materi, ahli, media, kuisioner respon guru, dan nilai pretest serta post test dari hasil pembelajaran siswa. Hasil dari penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa media berbasis blog telah memenuhi kriteria valid, efektif, dan praktis untuk dijadikan sarana pembelajaran dalam rangka meningkatkan keterampilan membuat pantun para pelajar di kelas VII SMP Negeri 3 Halongonan Timur. Validasi dari ahli materi senilai 84%, ahli media senilai 89% yang artinya memenuhi standarisasi sangat layak, dan validasi ahli bahasa sebesar 97%. Penerapan media blog Meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa rata-rata 45,88% menjadi 86 yang menunjukkan keaktifannya. Selain itu hasil analisis kuisioner kepraktisan instruktur menunjukkan 98% yakni kualifikasi sangat praktis. Sesuai dengan penjelasan tersebut maka kesimpulan yang didapatkan ialah media berbasis blog memiliki kelayakan untuk dimanfaatkan sebagai sarana belajar dikarenakan memenuhi kriteria validitas, edukasi, dan kepraktisan serta mampu meningkatkan hasil pembelajaran.

Abstract

This study was conducted on first-grade students at State Elementary School 101873 with the aim of identifying the strategies implemented by the school to improve students’ reading skills. The research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method designed through a Pre-test-Post-test Control Group Design. In this design, the students were divided into two groups: the experimental group, which received instruction using picture flashcards, and the control group, which received instruction through conventional teaching methods. Sampling was carried out using a random sampling technique. Standardized research instruments, such as reading tests and direct observation, were utilized. To assess changes or improvements in reading ability, both pre-test and post-test were administered. The data from the pre-test and post-test were analysed to evaluate the effectiveness of using picture flashcards in reading instruction. The results of the paired sample correlation test showed a significant relationship between pre-test and post-test scores in both the experimental and control groups, with significance values of 0.26 and 0.00, respectively. A significance value greater than 0.00 indicates a meaningful correlation between the pre-test and post-test results in both groups. Furthermore, a normality test was conducted on the pre-test and post-test data to ensure that the data followed a normal distribution. In the experimental group, the significance values were 0.638 for the pre-test and 0.320 for the post-test, indicating that the data were normally distributed. Similarly, in the control group, the significance values were 0.072 for the pre-test and 0.129 for the post-test, also confirming a normal distribution of the data. Thus, this study provides empirical evidence that the use of picture flashcards has the potential to serve as an effective strategy for improving reading skills among elementary school students.

Abstract

The research and development of this 3D motion diorama media is pushed by the low critical thinking ability of grade VI students at SD Negeri 010140 Perkebunan Gunung Melayu. The purpose of this study is to develop teaching materials in the form of 3D motion diorama media about the subject of the solar and lunar eclipse to improve the critical thinking skills of sixth grade students. This research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADDIE) model developed by Robert Maribe Brach. The results of the study show that; first, the dioramic media developed was declared very valid by experts, with a media feasibility percentage of 93% along with material feasibility of 94%, while the feasibility of the question instrument was 93%. Assessment by teachers obtained an average of 97% while student assessment obtained an average of 99%. Second, classroom trials showed a significant improvement in students' critical thinking skills, with an average pretest score of 52.7 and post-test score of 91.7 (a difference of 39 points), and an N-Gain of 0.82, indicating a high category. The implications of the use of 3D motion diorama media are also able to improve critical thinking skills. The use of this media in understanding the concept of celestial eclipses also very clearly shows the active involvement of students. This study recommends the application of similar media in sciences subject learning to support the development of students' critical thinking skills in primary school.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian untuk melihat pengaruh penggunaan metode estafet writing dengan kemampuan menulis teks narasi peserta didik. Kegiatan di laksanakan dengan mengimplementasikan jenis pendekatan eksperimen pada jenis penelitian kuantitatif. Langkah pertama pada pendekatan ini yakni menentukan dua variabel yang di gunakan pada penelitian. Variabel pertama di tempatkan sebagai kelas kontrol menggunakan metode pembelajaran konvensional dan variabel lainnya di tempatkan sebagai pengukur perbedaan yakni kelas eksperimen. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang di terapkan yaitu probability sampling dengan menetapkan dua sampel penelitian. dari jumlah populasi 101 siswa kelas VII 33 siswa didapatkan kemampuan peserta didik dalam menulis teks narasi terlihat perbedaan yang signifikan karena telah menggunakan metode menulis bergilir (estafet writing). Hal ini dibuktikan dengan hasil uji-t yang menunjukkan nilai signifikansi (Sig.) sebesar 0,000 (< 0,05). Maka dapat disimpulkan metode estafet writing berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan peserta didik dalam menulis teks narasi.

Abstract

Kemampuan menggunakan bahasa Indonesia dengan baik dan benar merupakan keterampilan penting yang perlu dibina sejak dini. Meski demikian, masih banyak anak-anak yang belum mampu menerapkan kaidah kebahasaan secara tepat dalam komunikasi lisan sehari-hari. Kegiatan pelatihan ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan untuk mengembangkan keterampilan berbicara anak-anak di Desa Bandar Senembah, Lingkungan 1, agar sesuai dengan kaidah bahasa berdasarkan Pedoman Umum Ejaan Bahasa Indonesia (PUEBI) dan Kamus Besar Bahasa Indonesia (KBBI). Pelatihan dilakukan menggunakan metode interaktif seperti permainan bahasa, simulasi percakapan, dan evaluasi praktik berbicara. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan dalam menyusun kalimat, memilih kosakata yang sesuai, serta memperbaiki intonasi dan pelafalan. Diharapkan, pelatihan ini dapat menjadi fondasi untuk membentuk anak-anak yang fasih dan tepat dalam berbahasa Indonesia sesuai kaidah.
