Abstract

One of the main obstacles in the teaching and learning process at MA Darul Ulum is the low student interest in learning due to the use of conventional and abstract media, such as textbooks. This study aims to determine the validity and student responses toward learning media developed using the Prezi application with an elaboration approach. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) design based on the 4D model, which consists of four stages: define, design, develop, and disseminate. Data analysis was conducted descriptively based on expert validation and student response questionnaires. The results of the media validation showed scores of 87.96% from media experts, 85% from material experts, and 91.67% from language experts, all of which fall into the “very valid” category. Field test results indicated that the elaboration-based Prezi media effectively enhanced students’ learning outcomes. Student response questionnaires obtained percentages of 91.91% in the small-scale trial and 89.89% in the large-scale trial, both categorized as “very good.” Based on these findings, the elaboration-based Prezi media is considered valid, practical, and effective for use in teaching the human respiratory system topic in senior high school biology.

Abstract

The gill-pattern woven fabric is a traditional textile originating from Pontianak City. However, the use of chemical dyes in the dyeing process has negative impacts on the environment. As a result, natural dyes have regained popularity due to their environmentally friendly properties. Natural dyes are generally derived from various plant parts, such as wood, bark, roots, root bark, seeds, seed coats, leaves, and flowers.  This study employed a descriptive research design with an exploratory approach, aiming to collect data on the types of plants used in producing natural dyes for gill-pattern woven fabrics. Data were collected through interviews with traditional weaving artisans in Batulayang Village, Gang Sambas. The research also included the documentation and inventory of natural dye sources used in the past. The findings showed that the gill-pattern woven fabric has great potential as a local learning resource, with a feasibility percentage of 93.5%. Furthermore, eight plant species were identified as traditional sources of natural dyes historically used in the weaving process. These results highlight the cultural and educational value of gill-pattern weaving and the potential of natural dyes in supporting sustainable textile production.

Abstract

Musa campestris is a unique banana, has erect inflorescence with beautiful bracts and mature fruit colors so that it can be used as an ornamental plant. this study's objective is to analyze the morphological inflorescences and anther anatomical characteristics of the Musa campestris var. sarawakensis. Plant materials were collected in Sanggau regency. Morphological characterizations were conducted using International Plant Genetic Resources Institute for Musa spp. Sampel of anther was prepared using paraffin method, stained with 2% safranin and 1% fast green. Main features observed for Musa campestris var. sarawakensis inflorescence has erect rachis position and color external bract are helpful to characterize the male bud. Additionally, the main characteristics of anther include the presence helical ribs in endothecium. As expected, tetrasporangiate anthers with single vascular bundle in male flowers was observed. The main morphology characteristics of inflorescence and anther anatomy of Musa campestris var. sarawakensis are highlighted in this study, contributing to provide more information about the characterization of this species in West Kalimantan.

Abstract

Codiaeum variegatum (L.) Rumph. ex a. Juss is a common ornamental plant with a high variation of leaves shape and colour. This study aimed to analyze the leaves’ anatomy and the phenetic relationship between eight cultivars of C. variegatum which were defined by the differences in leaf morphology. The paraffin method prepared the transversal section of leaves, and anatomical characters were converted into binary data to calculate the similarity coefficient which was analyzed by Numerical Taxonomy System (NTSYS) 2.1 version. Leaves of eight cultivars of C. variegatum are varied in the anatomical structure of the primary vein and lamina. The eight cultivars of C. variegatum were clustered into four. The variations were found in 19 primary vein and lamina anatomy characteristics and the similarity coefficient is up to 0.59 between all cultivars. It can be concluded that the combination of leaf anatomical structures and midrib anatomical characters have notable taxonomic implications for future research.

Abstract

The Antar Ajong ceremony is a ritual before planting rice carried out by the Sambas Malay Tribe. Plant diversity in the Antar Ajong ceremony can be developed in the form of an encyclopedia to support learning at school. This study aims to measure the validity of the media and student responses to the encyclopedia developed. The research used Research and development (R&D) with a modified 4D development model that includes the define, design, and develop stages. Data collection used interviews, observations, and questionnaires. The data was analyzed using a Likert questionnaire. The validation test obtained a value from media experts of 96.88% (very valid), material experts of 91.66% (very valid), and linguists of 88.14% (very valid). Students gave very good responses to the small-scale (99.35%) and large-scale (98.25%) trials. So it can be concluded that the ethnobotanical encyclopedia media at the Antar Ajong ceremony of the Malay Tribe of Paloh District, Sambas Regency, is feasible to apply in learning and get a positive response. This encyclopedia medium can also be used as a medium for preserving the local wisdom of the Paloh Paloh District Malay community at the Antar Anjong ceremony.

Abstract

The Malay tribe community in Natuna Regency still preserves one of the cultures, namely weaving several products that are used as tools to support their daily needs.  This study aims to determine the validity of the encyclopedia of woven plants of the Malay tribe in South Bunguran District, Natuna Regency and to determine student responses to the encyclopedia of woven plants of the Malay tribe in South Bunguran District, Natuna Regency. The method used is design and development (D&D). Based on the results of the research that has been done, it is found that the media encyclopedia of woven plants of the Malay tribe of Natuna Regency has fulfilled the validity aspects where the media aspect is 95.29% (very valid), the material aspect is 96.67% (very valid), and the linguistic aspect is 97.27% (very valid). Learners gave a very good response where on a small scale trial and a large scale got a small scale score of 91.04% (Very good) and a large scale of 93.50% (Very good). It can be concluded that the encyclopedia of woven plants of the Malay tribe in Natuna Regency can be utilized as a biology learning media that is included in biodiversity material.

Abstract

This research aims to produce an encyclopedia learning media that is both valid and practical for improving students' understanding of biodiversity material. The research utilized a modified 4-D development model, streamlined into 3-D, which included the stages of Define, Design, and Develop. The instruments used comprise interviews and documentation. Data analysis included validation of the encyclopedia's development and analysis of student responses to the developed media. The results from the validation tests and student responses indicated positive outcomes. Media experts rated the validation at 95.83% (very valid), material experts at 84.28% (very valid), and language experts at 83.33% (valid). Students who responded to the small-scale trial were very good, scoring 92.18% (very valid), while those who responded to the large-scale trial were also very good, at 91.03% (very valid). In conclusion, the validity results were very positive and the response outcomes were highly favorable. Thus, the encyclopedia media is deemed valid for use by educators and students in the biodiversity learning process.

Abstract

 Produktivitas padi di lahan gambut belum maksimal. Kemasaman gambut yang tinggi dan ketersediaan hara yang rendah menyebabkan produksi pertanian di lahan gambut sangat rendah. Penggunaan cendawan mikoriza merupkan salah satu solusi untuk mengatasi kurangnya ketersediaan hara bagi tumbuhan di lahan masam (gambut). Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi cendawan mikoriza yang bersimbiosis dengan tanaman padi varietas lokal yang dibudidayakan di Kalimantan Barat. Identifikasi cendawan mikroriza yang bersimbiosis dengan tanaman padi varietas lokal yang dibudidayakan di Kalimantan Barat telah dilakukan  untuk mengetahui genus cendawan mikoriza yang bersimbiosis dengan padi siam ketupat (Oryza sativa Var Siam Ketupat) dan padi ketumbar (Oryza sativa Var Ketumbar). Hasil pengamatan spora yang didapatkan dari contoh tanah pada rhizosfer padi ketumbar yaitu Glomus sp-1, Glomus sp-2, Glomus sp-3 sedangkan genus CMA pada padi siam ketupat yaitu Acaulospora sp. Pengetahuan tentang genus CMA yang bersimbiosis dengan padi varietas lokal Kalimantan Barat dapat diaplikasikan sebagai pupuk hayati untuk meningkatkan produktivitas tanaman padi dan menjaga ketahanan pangan di Kalimantan Barat. Kata kunci : Cendawan mikoriza arbuskular, Kalimantan Barat, Padi

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya perbedaan dan pengaruh pembelajaran remediasi dengan menggunakan model Contextual Teaching And Learning(CTL)berbantuan Media Bookletterhadap hasil belajar siswa. Hasil uji statistik T-test diperoleh nilai signifikansi 0,000 ˂ 0,05. Sedangkan hasil perhitungan gain diperoleh nilai rata-rata gain sebesar 0,58 (kategori sedang). Berdasarkan hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan dan pengaruh hasil belajar antara sebelum dan sesudah pembelajaran remediasi dengan menggunakan model contextual teaching and learning(CTL) berbantuan media booklet.Kata kunci:Remediasi, CTL, Booklet, hasil belajar siswa, sistem pernapasan manusia.ABSTRACT The aims of study was to determine difference and effect of remediation learning used contextual teaching and learning (CTL) model with bookleton student learning outcomes. T-testresult show significance value (0,000 ˂ 0.05), and average gainvalue at 0,58 (medium category). Abstract

ABSTRAKPermainan ular tangga dapat dijadikan sebagai media pembelajaran yang menyenangkan bagi siswa. SMA Kemala Bhayangkari belum pernah menggunakan media berbentuk permainan. Penelitian ini bertujuan menghasilkan media permainan ular tangga biologi pada  materi jaringan tumbuhan kelas XI SMA Kemala Bhayangkari 1 Sungai Raya yang valid, praktis, dan efektif. Pengembangan media permainan ular tangga ini menggunakan metode penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) model 4-D yang telah dimodifikasi, yaitu tahap Define (Pendefinisian), Design (Perancangan), Develop (Pengembangan), tanpa melakukan Disseminate (Penyebaran). Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa media permainan ular tangga biologi yang dikembangkan valid dengan aspek media nilai rata-rata kevalidan sebesar 91,63% dengan kriteria sangat valid, aspek materi 84,24% dengan kriteria sangat valid. Kriteria persentase hasil angket respon uji coba skala kecil dan uji coba skala besar pada aspek kepraktisan sama-sama memiliki kriteria sangat praktis masing-masing sebesar 87,31% dan 88,35%. Aspek keefektifan N-Gain pada  uji coba skala kecil dan besar secara berturut-turut sebesar 0,68 (kriteria  tinggi) dan 0,78 (kriteria tinggi). Dengan demikian, media permainan ular tangga biologi  yang dikembangkan layak digunakan sebagai media ajar pada materi jaringan tumbuhan khususnya sub bahasan struktur dan fungsi jaringan tumbuhan dan jaringan penyusun organ pada tumbuhan. Kata Kunci : Jaringan Tumbuhan, Pengembangan Media, Ular Tangga Biologi
