Abstract

The student's ability to comprehend mathematical concepts remains a primary concern that needs improvement. This issue often arises due to the dominant role of teachers in the learning process, which can lead students to become passive. This research investigates the impact of using the Guided Inquiry instructional model on students' mathematical concept comprehension. The research method employed is quasi-experimental, involving 10th-grade students at SMAN 2 Rambah Hilir as the population. Sample selection was done using the simple random sampling method, resulting in two student groups: class X.B as the control group and class X.E as the experimental group. Data were collected through a specially designed test technique to measure students' mathematical concept comprehension. The test instrument underwent validation, difficulty level analysis, discrimination power assessment, and reliability analysis. Data analysis was performed using the Mann-Whitney statistical test, yielding a calculated zscore of 4.67, while the critical ztable value was 1.96. These results indicate that the calculated zscore > critical ztable value indicates a significant positive impact of implementing the Guided Inquiry model on the mathematical concept comprehension of 10th-grade students at SMAN 2 Rambah Hilir.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of the Brain Based Learning model on the mathematical critical thinking abilities of 10th-grade students at SMAS Salafiyah Babussalam. The type of research conducted here is a pre-experiment with an Intact-Group Comparison research design, where one class is divided into two groups. The sampling process employed random sampling techniques for selecting participants. Data on mathematical critical thinking abilities were collected through a test. Data analysis was carried out to test the hypotheses. Before hypothesis testing, a prerequisite test for normality was conducted. The results of the normality test indicated that the data did not follow a normal distribution. Therefore, hypothesis testing was conducted using the Mann Whitney test. The calculation results showed that the calculated z-score zscore > critical ztable, with a value of zscore = 4.39 > ztable = 1.96, leading to the rejection of the null hypothesis (H0). This means that there is a significant influence of the Brain Based Learning model on the mathematical critical thinking abilities of 10th-grade students at SMAS Salafiyah Babussalam. This research contributes significantly to the development of effective learning methods aimed at improving students' mathematical critical thinking abilities.

Abstract

Introduction: The elderly are an age group vulnerable to cognitive decline, such as forgetfulness, difficulty concentrating, and decreased thinking ability. One non-pharmacological intervention that can be applied to stimulate memory is Group Activity Therapy (GAT) using an object guessing game. Objective: To improve the elderly's knowledge and stimulate cognitive function through enjoyable and educational group activities. Method: This activity was conducted on April 25, 2025, at Wisma Pisang, Budi Mulia 2 Social Welfare Institution for the Elderly in West Jakarta. Fifteen male elderly residents participated. Their knowledge was assessed using a pre-test and post-test. Result: Before the activity, 73.3% of participants had low knowledge. After the therapy and education session, 60% showed an increase in knowledge to the good category. Conclusion: The object guessing group therapy is effective in increasing elderly knowledge about the therapy itself while providing cognitive and social stimulation in a positive atmosphere.

Abstract

Pelatihan pembuatan gula semut dari gula aren cetak bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan kemampuan produksi pengrajin gula aren lokal. Kegiatan ini melibatkan kelompok pengrajin "Gula Aren Jaya" yang terdiri atas 16 peserta. Pelatihan dirancang secara sistematis dengan tiga tahapan utama: penyampaian materi, demonstrasi teknis, dan praktik langsung. Peserta diperkenalkan pada teknik pengeringan gula aren cetak, pengendalian kualitas, serta metode pengemasan modern untuk menghasilkan gula semut berkualitas tinggi. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman dan kemampuan peserta, di mana seluruh peserta menyatakan mampu memproduksi gula semut secara mandiri. Beberapa hambatan yang dihadapi pada proses pelatihan yaitu keterbatasan alat produksi, waktu pelatihan, dan pemahaman teknis tertentu memerlukan perhatian lebih lanjut. Implikasi pelatihan ini meliputi diversifikasi produk, penguatan ekonomi daerah, dan pelestarian komoditas aren sebagai bahan baku strategis. Pelatihan ini menjadi langkah awal yang strategis untuk menjadikan gula semut sebagai ikon produk unggulan daerah, mendukung pemberdayaan ekonomi masyarakat lokal, serta menciptakan peluang pertumbuhan ekonomi berkelanjutan. Kolaborasi lintas sektor diperlukan untuk memastikan keberlanjutan dan pengembangan lebih lanjut dari hasil pelatihan ini

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas pelaku Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM) di Kabupaten Rokan Hulu, Provinsi Riau, dalam mengelola usaha kuliner secara profesional dan inovatif. Fokus kegiatan terarah pada dua aspek utama, yaitu pelatihan manajemen wirausaha kuliner dan praktik langsung melalui cooking class pembuatan snack box yang memiliki nilai jual tinggi dan daya saing di pasar lokal maupun digital. Pelatihan ini mencakup materi perencanaan usaha, digital marketing, manajemen keuangan sederhana, serta pengemasan produk yang menarik dan higienis. Metode yang digunakan adalah ceramah, diskusi interaktif, studi kasus, dan praktik langsung (hands-on training). Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman dan keterampilan peserta dalam merancang model bisnis kuliner sederhana, menyusun laporan keuangan dasar, serta menghasilkan produk snack box yang layak jual. Kegiatan ini juga mendorong semangat kewirausahaan perempuan dan generasi muda di Kabupaten Rokan Hulu. Dengan demikian, program ini memberikan kontribusi nyata dalam pemberdayaan UMKM berbasis potensi lokal dan mendukung pemulihan ekonomi pascapandemi melalui sektor industri rumah tangga.

Abstract

Introduction: Community health nursing is a professional nursing service that targets individuals and high-risk groups in a comprehensive manner, covering biological, psychological, social, and spiritual dimensions. Its primary focus is to improve the health status of the community through promotive and preventive actions, while still considering curative and rehabilitative aspects. This service is carried out by actively involving the community as partners in identifying and addressing health problems occurring within their environment. Objective: To describe the implementation of community health nursing care carried out in Villa Tangerang Indah, RW 10, Gebang Raya Subdistrict, Periuk District, Tangerang City, Banten Province. Method: The data collection process was carried out through the distribution of questionnaires, direct interviews, and field observations. Once the data were collected, the information was classified based on the number of households recorded in RW 10, Gebang Raya Subdistrict, Periuk District, Tangerang City. Result: Based on the assessment results, it was found that the most prevalent diseases in the area included hypertension (26.7%), diabetes mellitus (20%), gastritis (18.7%), high cholesterol (6.7%), and uric acid (5.3%). Additionally, 22.6% of the population were found to suffer from various other types of illnesses.

Abstract

LKPD as a learning resource plays an important role for students in learning activities to be actively involved in understanding concepts. The problem is that teachers have not been motivated to make their own LKPD according to the characteristics and abilities of students. This is because teachers do not understand the importance of using LKPD which are prepared by themselves in learning and the mechanics and technicalities of compiling LKPD correctly and well. The teacher only uses textbooks and LKPD which contains a summary of the material, sample questions and practice questions without any process of finding concepts. Students receive information from LKPD without being able to explore their ability to obtain information/concept discovery independently. In connection with these problems, training and assistance in the preparation of LKPD was carried out at SMPN 3 Rambah Hilir. The teacher participated in this activity enthusiastically. This can be seen from the positive response given by dmana there were 15.4% gave a very good response and 76.9% gave a good response. The material and assistance provided in the training helped teachers make a better LKPD, namely 15.4% stated that it was very good, 69.2% stated that it was good and 15.4% stated that it was quite good. Teachers became motivated to make their own LKPD, namely there were 15.4% very good, 76.9% good and 7.7% enough.
