Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan bahan ajar Konsep Biologi Dasar IPA SD yang digunakan dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan model penelitian pengembangan oleh Borg and Gall melalui 5 tahapan kegiatan. Tahapan pengembangan yakni; analisis, desain bahan ajar, uji validasi, produksi dan ujicoba lapangan. Subjek dalam penelitian dipilih secara purposive sampling yang disesuaikan dengan tujuan penelitian. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 53 mahasiswa yang sedang mengikuti perkuliahan Konsep Biologi IPA SD di tahun ajaran 2021-2022. Teknik analisa data menggunakan lembar instrumen berupa tes, lembar angket, dan lembar validasi. Olah data dilakukan dengan melihat peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran dilakukan dengan melihat hasil pre-test dan post-test yang diuji melalui skor klasiklal N-Gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nahan ajar yang dikembangkan layak untuk diujicobakan dengan rata-rata penilaian ahli materi sebesar 3.05 dan ahli media sebesar 3.00. Sedangkan kualitas pembelajaran setelah menggunakan bahan ajar meningkat sebanyak 20,58 point.

Abstract

Tingkat literasi lingkungan siswa di Indonesia secara kumulatif masih perlu ditingkatkan. Penyebab utamanya karena pada tingkat pengambilan keputusan di pusat dan daerah sering mengabaikan kepentingan pelestarian lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan literasi lingkungan mahasiswa pendidikan biologi menggunakan skor nela. Jenis penelitian merupakan penelitian deskriptif. Sampel penelitian yakni mahasiswa Pendidikan Biologi yang berada di semester 2, semester 4 dan semester 6 kelas yang berjumlah 137 mahasiswa. yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Tes literasi lingkungan menggunakan lembar instrument tes yang diadapatasi dan dimodifikasi dari Middle Schools Environmental Literacy Survey/ Instrument (MSELS/ I). Teknik pengumpulan data  terdiri dari 75 soal. Analisis tingkat literasi lingkungan ditransformasikan menggunakan pensekoran dari NELA (National Environmental Literacy Assessment). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diketahui bahwa kemampuan literasi lingkungan mahasiswa berada pada kategori “sedang”. Implikasi penelitian ini siswa dapat bersikap, bertanggung jawab, peduli dan sadar akan keberadaan lingkungan. Proses pembelajaran sebaiknya memperkenalkan anak untuk belajar langsung dengan lingkungan atau belajar di luar kelas, mengamati masalah lingkungan dan perilaku yang dapat berdampak positif bagi lingkungan.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of ethanol extract of wijaya kusuma leaves (Epiphyllum oxypetalum) as an inhibitor and determine the Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) against Salmonella typhi bacteria. Quantitative research method with an experimental research design using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) and the results were analyzed using One Way ANOVA test and continued with the Tukey test. Test method with disc diffusion method (Kirby-Bauer) in antibacterial test with extract concentration 0; 0.1; 0.2; 0.3; 0.4; 0.5; and 0.6% (g/v) and liquid dilution method in Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) test with extract concentration 0; 0.02; 0.04; 0.06; 0.08; and 0.1% (g/v). The results showed that ethanol extract of wijaya kusuma leaves (Epiphyllum oxypetalum) had a significant effect on Salmonella typhi bacteria with the best concentration of 0.6% which had a mean inhibition zone area of 45.05 ± 4.80 mm2 and the Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) was in the concentration range of 0 to 0.02% (g/v). The ethanol extract of wijaya kusuma leaves (Epiphyllum oxypetalum) has an effect as a growth inhibitor of Salmonella typhi bacteria.

Abstract

Empowering adolescent girls in orphanages is crucial for enhancing their self-reliance and readiness for the future. This community service program aimed to equip adolescent girls at Panti Aisyiyah Humairah with English language skills (focusing on daily conversation), instill integrity (anti-corruption values), and build self-reliance (cooking techniques, food safety, culinary business opportunities). The training methodology involved theoretical sessions, practical application, and skill evaluation. Evaluation results showed a significant improvement in participants' understanding and competency, with average scores increasing from 3.3–4.2 to 4.3–4.6, notably in key knowledge/skill aspects measured. This program proved effective in comprehensively enhancing the capacity of adolescent girls, expected to broaden their employment and entrepreneurial opportunities, while also fostering their motivation and independence.

Abstract

In the digital era, modern methods have transformed the learning process, offering various tools to enhance education. One such tool is the Hello English application, which serves as a learning medium for students. Grammar learning, often considered tedious when taught through traditional books, can become more engaging with this application. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the Hello English application in improving students’ understanding of grammar. The research employed a pre-experimental design with eighth-grade students from SMP T as the population. A sample of 25 students was selected from a total of 51. Data were analyzed using paired sample t-tests, with validity and reliability assessed through a Likert scale and Cronbach’s alpha. A normality test was conducted prior to analysis. The results revealed a significant improvement in grammar understanding. The paired sample t-test showed a t-value of 10.719 with a p-value of 0.01 (p < 0.05), indicating a meaningful difference between pre-test and post-test scores. These findings demonstrate that the Hello English application effectively enhanced students’ grasp of the simple present tense, proving its value as a grammar teaching tool for eighth-grade students at SMP T in the 2024/2025 academic year.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of applying the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model with an Outdoor Study strategy on environmental pollution material toward students’ critical thinking skills and learning motivation in Grade X at SMA Pembina Palembang. The research employed a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group design. The population consisted of two classes, namely class X1 (29 students) as the experimental group and class X2 (19 students) as the control group. Data were collected through interviews, classroom observations, critical thinking skill tests, and learning motivation questionnaires. Based on the findings, the hypothesis test using the Independent Samples Test showed a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05), indicating a significant effect of PBL with Outdoor Study on students’ critical thinking skills. The experimental class achieved an average final score of 77 with a 55% improvement (N-gain), which was higher than the control class with an average score of 58 and a 27% improvement. Regarding learning motivation, the Mann Whitney-U test also showed a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05), indicating a significant effect on increasing motivation. The experimental class reached an average score of 94 with a 73% improvement (N-gain), while the control class scored an average of 86 with an 11% improvement. In conclusion, the implementation of the PBL model with an Outdoor Study strategy has a positive and significant impact on enhancing students’ critical thinking skills and learning motivation in environmental pollution material at SMA Pembina Palembang.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas model pembelajaran Blended Learning dengan pendekatan Cooperative Approach terhadap prestasi belajar mahasiswa pada mata kuliah lingkungan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan menggunakan metode eksperimen yang diadaptasi dari model Desain and Development Research (DDR). Penelitian ini Subjek penelitian dipilih menggunakan metode purposive sampling yakni mahasiswa Pendidikan Biologi yang sedang mengikuti Lingkungan. Analisis data dilakukan untuk mengetahui taraf signifikansi nilai pretes-postest menggunakan uji-t pada taraf signifikansi=0,05. Rerata nilai post-test menunjukkan adanya kenaikan hasil belajar menjadi 82,43. Kemudian dilakukan uji-t guna mengetahui nilai sig. Α = 0,05 atau 5%, sehingga dapat disimpulkan apakah terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar sebelum dan sesudah diberikan perlakuan. Berdasarkan perhitungan nilai signifikansi menggunakan program SPSS 18, diperoleh nilai sig. Sebesar 0,000 dimana nilai sig.≤ 0,05 yang artinya terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar sebelum dan sesudah diterapkan model pembelajaran blended learning menggunakan pendekatan cooperative approach.

Abstract

Learning tools based on local potential are prepared by knowing whether or not there is local potential in the South Sumatra region to then be used as a learning resource. This research aims to develop learning tools based on local potential and conservation attitudes for students of the Biology Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Sriwijaya University. This research is development research (research and development). The research model refers to the Lee & Owens development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The design stage produces a needs analysis to design the learning tools that will be used. The development stage was carried out to produce learning tools that had been validated by 2 lecturers teaching environmental science courses. Limited trials were carried out on Palembang class students who taught environmental courses. Based on the research results, environmental learning tools have very valid, effective and practical criteria, so they can be implemented in learning.
