<![CDATA[n this paper, the writer tries to analyze a creative response done by Gamel Awan over Alan Walkers Fadedentitled Sepine/Lonely. The purpose of this writing is to investigate how nature is seen and treated by humans. This research uses ecocriticism as the theory and methodology. In responding Alan Walkers song, Gamel Awan recomposed the lyric as well as the music by employing the Javanese language and music arrangement. By defining Faded as lonely, the text poses at least two hypothetical propositionsover nature representationas follows: 1) nature is emplaced as an isolated space; and 2) nature is only functioned as a spoil tip.]]>

<![CDATA[Monotony fashion in presenting teaching materials implies the reliance on utilizing one medium to serve the teaching materials. Teachers need to be creative in serving their teaching materials to avoid boredom and monotonousness. Infographic is a versatile tool which can be employed to serve any purposes. In addition, it makes complex information eye-catching. Through its graphic color and animated picture, infographic strengthens the purpose of the lesson taught. Many publishers in 21st-century era reinvent infographic tools to design the infographic. This paper, however, is aimed at reviewing Canva as the infographic tool. Canva provides various themes and professional layouts for creating the compelling infographic to present the teaching materials. In addition, it is a simple tool which is extremely easy to use.]]>

<![CDATA[Beloved is a novel written by American author, Toni Morrison. Through Beloved, Toni Morrison successfully depicts a heartbreaking phenomenon of slavery that happened in the USA in 1873. Morrison describes the phenomenon of dominance-submission interrelation patterns in a master-slave relationship. By using the concept of racism and slavery, the paper aims at scrutinizing how the whites perform racism and slavery to solidify their domination over the blacks. Besides, it is aimed at investigating the impacts of slavery and racism done by the whites which are experienced by the slaves. Library research and close-reading methods are employed to analyze the novel. Besides, the qualitative and contextual method which focuses on intrinsic and extrinsic elements is utilized. The result of the analysis shows that racism and slavery are major elements that solidify whites’ domination over black slaves. In other respect, racism and slavery lead to great negative impacts for the black slaves. Excessive trauma and identity loss are the major impacts experienced by the slaves as the consequence of slavery and racism.]]>

<![CDATA[Lebih dari tujuh puluh persen (70%) populasi eceng gondok menutupi permukaan Danau Rawa yang berdampak buruk untuk sisi lingkungan dan ekonomi. Eceng gondok menurunkan populasi biota seperti ikan dan nilai pariwisata. Solusi nyata dibutuhkan untuk menghadapi permasalahan ini. Kelompok masyarakat pegiat usaha UMKM berbasis pemberdayaan masyarakat dan potensi sumber daya alam lokal, Bengok Craft, di Desa Kesongo, Kecamatan Tuntang, Kabupaten Semarang dalam hal ini telah mengambil peran untuk menjadi bagian dari solusi atas permasalahan tersebut yakni dengan memproduksi kerajinan eceng gondok mulai dari tas eceng gondok, buku, hingga sandal serta aksesoris lainnya. Banyaknya produksi kerajinan ini kemudian diproses lebih lanjut oleh UMKM Bengok Craft seperti proses finishing dan juga didistribusikan di pasar. Akan tetapi, permasalahan lain muncul yakni pemasaran produk. Produk kerajinan eceng gondok dipasarkan di pasar lokal dengan memanfaatkan media pemasaran daring seperti media sosial dan juga website dengan memanfaatkan media gambar atau foto produk. Konten pada media pemasaran masih belum cukup persuasif dan menarik minat pasar global.Merespon permasalahan ini, tim pengabdi sebagai akademisi memberikan solusiberupa pelatihan penulisan konten kreatif berbasis stori untuk media iklan produk kerajinan Bengok Craft yang melibatkan pengelola UMKM Bengok Craft dan warga desa yang menjadi tim iklan. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah peserta pelatihan menghasilkan konten iklan untuk media daring.]]>

<![CDATA[Abstract: This paper aims to analyze a patriarchal politics performed by the male antagonist named Maxim de Winter in his life of domestic partnership with a female protagonist, Rebecca, elucidated in Daphne du Maurier’s novel entitled Rebecca. The concept of promotion of patriarchal domination is done through deconstructive narration. At first, the novel constructs a narration by putting the woman in a privileged position. However, this position is later dismantled by male domination. This paper employs some methods consisting of close reading, qualitative analysis, and deconstructive analysis. The result shows that woman’s privileged position is only used as a medium for a man to prove his domination and promote patriarchal politics in the form of power struggle. <![CDATA[Digital marketing optimization is a society service program done by lecturers and student of the English Department at Universitas Negeri Semarang. The society service is aimed at empowering a local community called Dheling Arts Community in Rogomulyo Village, Semarang Regency to develop their Small and Medium-sized Enterprise (SME) focusing on bamboo working. The community's life (93%) highly depends on traditional farming and bambooworking. In selling and marketing bambooworking products, the community relies on consignment selling and marketing which relatively give small profit. consignment selling and marketing methods are challenged its effectiveness amidst digital development not to mention digital marketing and business. Thus, the empowerment program is performed to give the underlying concept of digital marketing and business so that the SME can reach wider potential buyers using digital marketing tools and platforms. This program was conducted using Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) emphasizing the active targeted society involvement. The program resulted in a better understanding of the digital marketing concept. In addition, the local community successfully created a digital marketing media and an e-commerce account to market and sell their products of bamboo working.]]>

<![CDATA[Through her poem, Emily Dickinson utilized figurative speech to elucidate the concept of death. In addition, the employment of the figurative speech is to illustrate what happened in the United States in the era of Puritanism. By using the concept of semiotics theory, the analysis shows that the poem demonstrates the passive protest over the organized religion that is being promoted by Puritan in Massachusetts, a place where the author was born and dies. Dickinson highlights the Puritan fierce rules which lead to female’s total submission.]]>

<![CDATA[The learning of English has its level of difficulty. One of its difficulties is pronunciation practice which is influenced by several factors. This study purposes to determine the factors that influence the difficulty in pronunciation practice. This study aims to implement a minimal pair strategy to facilitate learning pronunciation for students in one of the elementary schools in Temanggung as the object of this study. This study uses an experimental method by dividing a class of third-grade into two groups, namely the experimental group and the control group. By using this method, two different data will be generated to compare how effective the implementation of the minimum pair strategy is for elementary school students, especially for learning pronunciation.]]>
