Abstract

The ecological crisis is getting worse over time, resulting in various problems. The ecological crisis is widely represented in literary works but not much has been studied regarding its impact so it needs to be explained in depth. This study aimed to describe the impact of the ecological crisis represented in “Sumur”, a short story by Eka Kurniawan. The data of this research were words, phrases, clauses, sentences, paragraphs, and discourse in the short story. The data collection technique was a document analysis using the theory of ecocriticsm. The data validity technique used theoretical triangulation through data validity activities based on various theoretical perspectives. The novelty of the research was that no one had previously analyzed the ecocriticism in the short story before. The data analysis technique used interactive analysis. The findings indicated that the impact of the ecological crisis represented in "Sumur" short story included: 1) the effects on the environment in the form of drought, loss of water sources, loss of animal food and habitat, damage to agriculture, climate change, and damage to biodiversity; and 2) the effects on the socio-cultural relations of the community in the form of death and anxiety, population migration and urbanization, and the loss of community culture.

Abstract

Kemampuan berpikir kritis merupakan kompetensi penting abad ke-21 yang harus dimiliki siswa untuk menghadapi tantangan global yang kompleks. Namun, pembelajaran di banyak sekolah masih berpusat pada guru dan belum mengintegrasikan teknologi secara optimal, termasuk pemanfaatan Artificial Intelligence (AI). Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan kompetensi guru dalam mengintegrasikan AI untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa di SMA Negeri 1 Baturetno. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan meliputi tahap perencanaan, pelatihan, dan evaluasi. Pelatihan diberikan dalam bentuk penguatan konsep berpikir kritis, praktik penggunaan platform AI, serta pembuatan media ajar berbasis video interaktif. Kegiatan ini mampu memberikan wawasan dan pemahaman baru terhadap guru dalam mengoptimalkan pemanfaatan AI dalam pembelajaran di kelas. Guru menunjukkan antusiasme dan respons positif dalam menerima materi yang diberikan. Selanjutnya, guru diharapkan mampu menerapkan hasil pengabdian ini di kelas guna mendorong siswa untuk mampu berpikir kritis, terutama dalam memanfaatkan AI dalam proses belajar mereka.

Abstract

This research aims to describe and explain the use of diction, language style, and imagery in the lyrics of the album Mengudara by Idgitaf and its use as literary teaching material in high school. This research is a qualitative research with a stylistic approach and utilizes data collection techniques, namely document analysis and interviews. This research can be used by using the results of the study as literature teaching material in high school. Theoretical triangulation and source triangulation were used as a test of data validity. The results of this study identified that in the lyrics of the album song Mengudara by Idgitaf there is the use of connotative diction, concrete diction, typical greeting diction, and diction with natural reality objects with the most use, namely typical greeting diction. The language styles used are personification, allegory, assonance, anaphora, alliteration, hyperbole, satire, and sinedoke with the most widely used language style, namely the assonance language style. The imagery used is visual, hearing, movement, and touch imagery with the most widely used imagery being visual imagery. The analysis of the use of diction, language style, and imagery in the lyrics of the album song Mengudara by Idgitaf can be used as literary teaching material in poetry learning in grade X of Senior High School because it is in accordance with the learning objectives. The conclusion of this study can be found that the most widely used diction is typical greeting diction, the most widely used language style is the assonance language style, and the most widely used imagery is visual imagery, and the results of the analysis can be used as literary teaching material in high school.
