Hasilnya, terjadi peningkatan signifikan setelah pelatihan diadakan.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the extent to which ethnic and religious information is believed to be fake news or facts and is spread to people close to them. This type of research is qualitative using a phenomenological approach, namely collecting experience data and testing individual assessments through an experimental stage from a sample of 30 non-expert millennials and gen z in the city of Semarang, Indonesia. The findings of this study reveal several attitudes formed by participants. First, participants believe that fake news still exists and is spread predominantly online. Second, participants believe that they will not be trapped by fake news and have credibility. Third, respondents discuss suspicious information with reference groups. Fourth, dissonance is still prominent in the assessment of information status (fake or fact) and the culture of collectivism appears prominent in this study.

Abstract

This study analyzes the management of sexual health information among adolescents in Ayula Selatan Village, Gorontalo, amidst the challenges of social taboos, conservative values, and vulnerability to myths. The Elaboration Likelihood Model (ELM) was used in this study. The purpose of this study is to identify the message processing pathways, i.e. central or peripheral pathways, used by adolescents. This study adopted a mixed methods method with an explanatory sequential design to complete the analysis in this study. Quantitative data from 76 respondents measured adolescents' understanding of sexual health myths and facts, combined with in-depth interview data from selected respondents. The results showed an imbalance in adolescents' knowledge about myths and facts related to sexual health. In addition, information about sexual health tends to be obtained from digital media without assistance from parents or teachers. A sense of taboo and embarrassment to ask questions is one of the reasons why adolescents discuss with peers rather than adults. Another interesting finding shows that adolescents also discuss with artificial intelligence to validate their knowledge about sexual health. ELM analysis found that the majority of adolescents used peripheral pathways in this study. They accepted messages based on non-message cues such as influencer popularity, language style and aesthetic visualization. The adolescents disregarded the quality of arguments. The dominance of this pathway has consequences in the form of temporary changes in attitudes and the risk of spreading misinformation. This study suggests designing adaptive educational programs and strengthening the role of family and school as credible sources.

Abstract

Couchsurfing is an application that connects persons who need lodging, with individuals who offer their house as a free place to stay. Persons who need lodging are called surfers and individuals who provide their house are called hosts. When hosts and surfers are just getting acquainted through the Couchsurfing app, they hold some uncertainty with each other. This study describes the experiences of both parties in their efforts to reduce uncertainty and build close relationships, even though they only met through digital applications and never  face to face. This study uses a phenomenological approach with data search techniques in the form of in-depth interviews, direct observation, and data observation through the Couchsurfing application. The number of interviewees was 14  from various cities in Indonesia. To reduce uncertainty and build close relationships, hosts and surfers go through five stages; first, understanding and believing technology; second, pre-conversation; third, online conversation-1; fourth, face-to-face conversation; and fifth, online conversation-2. The description of these stages is summarized in the findings of this study. This finding also proves that the presence of technology may modify the previously known theories of interpersonal communication. Interpersonal communication not only takes place between two people directly but also involves technology as an intermediary.
