Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study analyzed qualitatively the cohesive devices used in argumentative essays of undergraduate EFL students in South Sumatera, Indonesia. Eighty essays were collected from eight universities in which ten essays were obtained from each. Halliday and Hasan (1976) concept of grammatical cohesion was used as the framework for the analysis of the essays. All the cohesive devices were found. Reference had the highest frequency which is 50.24% of the total cohesive devices followed by conjuction which is 37.34%, lexical cohesion which is 7.7% and ellipsis which is 3.57%. Substitution was the least used type of cohesive device which is only 1.15%. In terms of correctness of using the devices, most of the devices were all used properly. It was revealed that there was still few mistakes of using reference and substitution since they both were frequently used in the essays. Hence, it can be concluded that the students are more familiar with the use of reference and conjunction even though they are able to use the other devices as well. Keywords: cohesive devices, argumentative essay

Abstract

Masa remaja merupakan suatu periode perkembangan yang penting, dimana pada masa tersebut merupakan periode peralihan dan perubahan dari masa anak-anak ke dewasa. Faktor internal dan eksternal individu dapat mempengaruhi perilaku seksual pada remaja yaitu konsep diri. Di wilayah Desa Dlingo, ada beberapa kasus kehamilan tidak diinginkan pada remaja sehingga diperlukan intervensi preventif berbasis komunitas. Hasil intervensi yang telah dilakukan yaitu adanya peningkatan pengetahuan setelah diberikan psikoedukasi. Berdasarkan hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa para remaja telah memahami konsep masa perkembangan remaja dan konsep diri positif. Para kader juga semakin paham mengenai masa perkembangan remaja dan komunikasi yang efektif. Oleh karena itu, diharapkan tidak ada kendala saat melakukan pelayanan posyandu dan para kader posyandu dapat berbagi pengetahuan dengan orang tua.

Abstract

Di era digital yang serba cepat, membuat manusia menginginkan semua aktivitas rumah tangga menjadi serba praktis, seperti mencuci baju. Bagi orang yang memiliki tuntutan kesibukan dan tidak mempunyai waktu untuk mencuci pakaian, menjemur, dan menyetrika, mereka lebih memilih mempercayakan cuciannya kepada jasa tukang cuci atau laundry dengan alasan menghemat waktu dan agar lebih berkonsentrasi untuk menyelesaikan pekerjaan mereka. Sistem yang digunakan pada Rosi Laundry masih menggunakan data manual yang menyulitkan pencarian data dan rentan kehilangan data. Untuk itu dibuatlah perancangan sistem informasi layanan laundry berbasis web di Rosi Laundry, dengan menggunakan HTML, PHP, dan DBMS MySQL dan metode yang di gunakan dalam perencanaan ini menggunakan SDLC model waterfall. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mendeskripsikan implementasi model CIPRO (Citizen Prosedur) dalam mengidentifikasi teks prosedur tentang cara melakukan tarian daerah dari berbagai sumber yang dibaca dan didengar pada siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Lemito; (2) menyimpulkan hasil implementasi teks prosedur tentang cara melakukan tarian daerah dari berbagai sumber yang dibaca dan didengar dengan menggunakan model CIPRO (Citizen Prosedur) dalam pembelajaran teks prosedur pada siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Lemito. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif dengan jenis penelitian kualitatif. Adapun teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan meliputi observasi, tes, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Data dianalisis teori dari Miles dan Huberman (1992: 20) yang membagi tiga aliran kegiatan bersamaan yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan pengambilan kesimpulan. Hasil dalam penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penelitian mengimplementasikan model pembelajaran CIPRO (Citizen Prosedur) dalam pembelajaran teks prosedur pada siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Lemito Kabupaten Pohuwato tahun pelajaran 2022/2023 menunjukkan tetap baik. Adapun temuan yang didapat dalam penelitian ini seperti setiap siswa menunjukkan semangat mereka, religius, jujur, toleransi, disiplin, kerja keras, kreatif, rasa ingin tahu, dan tanggung jawab. Siswa memperoleh itu semua dalam tingkah laku peserta didik saat melalui proses pembelajaran.

Abstract

This study was aimed to find out (a) the existing phenomena of students’ reading attitudes, habit, and comprehension achievement, (b) whether or not there was significant correlation among the students’ reading attitudes, reading habits and their reading comprehension achievement, (c) whether or not there was contribution of students’ reading attitudes, reading habit and their reading comprehension achievement, (d) which variable gives the most contribution to the students’ reading comprehension achievement. The data were collected by distributing reading attitude and reading habit questionnaire and testing a reading comprehension for 313 students. The data were analyzed by Percentage analysis, Pearson Product Moment and Regression. The result showed that 1.6% students had very positive reading attitude, 95.9% students had positive reading attitude, 2.5% students had negative reading attitude. In reading habit, 23.1% students had very good reading habit, 72.3% students had good reading habit, and 4.6% students had average reading habit. There was a significant correlation between students’ reading attitude to their reading habit (.365 with sig .000). Significant correlation between either students’ reading attitude or reading habit and their reading comprehension achievement was not found. Based on their semester level, only the eighth semester students’ reading attitudes insignificantly correlate to their reading habits (.134 with sig .233). Meanwhile, only the fourth semester students’ reading attitudes correlate to their reading comprehension achievement (.290 with sig .011). In general, students’ reading attitudes contributed 13.3% to their reading habit. Finally 8.6% of the fourth semester students’ reading comprehension achievement was influenced by the combination of reading attitudes and reading habits.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the effectiveness of useMicrosoft Teams in social science subjects. The research method used is descriptive qualitative using Miles and Huberman data analysis techniques which consist of data reduction, presentation and inference or verification. This research uses observation, interview and documentation guidelines. The results of this research show that the use of Microsoft Teams as a learning tool in social studies subjects is considered effective as reflected in learning effectiveness indicators which include teaching quality, appropriate level of teaching, incentives. and the time that must be shared together to express it. All aspects and performance indicators are continuous with each other and have met the performance declaration criteria.

Abstract

Speaking is a vital skill in language learning, and a student's motivation significantly influences their willingness and ability to improve their speaking Achievement. This study aimed to determine the significant correlation and influence of students' motivation on their speaking achievement. A quantitative research approach with a correlation design was employed. The population consisted of 246 eleventh-grade students at a private high school in Palembang. The researchers used a cluster random sampling technique to select the sample. Data were collected using the Attitude/Motivation Test Battery (AMTB) questionnaire and a speaking test. The results showed no statistically significant correlation between students' motivation and their speaking achievement, as the obtained correlation coefficient (r-obtained) of 0.106 was lower than the critical value (r-table) of 0.339. Additionally, the two-tailed significance level was .550, indicating that the p-value (.550) exceeded the threshold of .005. Therefore, the null hypothesis (H01) was accepted.
