Abstract

Typhoid fever is an acute systemic disease. This fever is caused by bacteria called salmonella typhi. This type of bacteria commonly lives and is found in the digestive tract. Typhoid fever can usually be transmitted through food or drink, as long as both have been contaminated and exposed to the bacteria whose names have been mentioned previously. C-Reactive Protein is a test that is used to measure the level of C-Reactive in the blood and produced by the liver, then the results of this production are used to respond to inflammation that occurs by releasing it into the bloodstream. The aim of this study was to determine the appearance of C-reactive protein in patients diagnosed with typhoid fever at RSU Hermina Arcamanik. Quantitative descriptive is the method used and applied in this research, while for the approach the researcher used cross-sectional. The sample population is all data on patients positive for typhoid fever, totaling 30 samples of patients who checked CRP and data collection using secondary data. The research results from 30 samples showed high results at the age of 30-40 years as many as 16 (53%) and high results at the age of 41-50 years as many. 5 (17%), while it was based on 10 (33%) men and 13 (43%) on women.

Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (Dengue Fever) is a type of infectious disease caused by the Arthoda virus, genus Flavivirus, family Flaviviridae. Platelets can decrease because the bone marrow experiences a decrease in platelet production, one of which is caused by the dengue hemorrhagic fever virus. Platelets are formed in the bone marrow through the fragmentation of the cytoplasm of megakaryocytes. The bite of the Aedes mosquito is a spreader of the dengue virus. The normal platelet count is 150,000 – 400,000mm3 and platelets have a normal lifespan of 7-10 days. This study aims to determine platelet levels from the third to the fifth day in dengue patients. The type of quantitative descriptive research uses a cross-sectional approach method. It was carried out at Hermina Arcamanik Hospital. The population of this study consists of all dengue hemorrhagic fever patients with a random sample of 30 people taken in March-April 2024 (random sampling). The results of the study based on age group showed that the majority of dengue patients were ≤ 5 years old, namely 13 respondents (46.4%). Based on gender, the most males were 18 people (64.3%).

Abstract

Early signs of dengue virus infection are often nonspecific, which can result in delays in assessment. This disease can develop quickly, even in a matter of days or hours, and can result in serious conditions. The primary pathophysiology of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) involves increased vascular permeability and impaired hemostasis. Increased blood vessel permeability can result in plasma leakage, hypovolemia, and even severe stress. Disturbances in hemostasis can result in thrombocytopenia and bleeding manifestations. In dengue fever sufferers, thrombocytopenia occurs due to antibodies attacking platelets, which make antigen-antibody complexes. Hematocrit levels can increase due to an increase in the number of blood cells or a decrease in the amount of plasma, which often occurs in cases of dengue fever. conversely, hematocrit levels can decrease due to an increase in plasma concentration, similar to the case of a decrease in the number of blood cells or anemia. Blood tests are very crucial in monitoring the patient's condition and determining the prognosis. Based on WHO testing guidelines, thrombocytopenia and plasma extravasation, which are reflected in blood concentrations, are crucial indicators in the assessment of dengue fever. The research method used in this research is narrative, carried out from March to May 2024 at Al-Ihsan Regional Hospital. The study population included 30 patients, and the sample was representative of the entire population. Research findings show that 24 out of 30 patients (80%) experienced an increase in hematocrit levels. Key terms: Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever, Hematocrit.

Abstract

Dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) is a public health problem in Indonesia whose number of cases continues to increase and its spread is increasingly widespread.Tests used to diagnose dengue fever include a white blood cell count test.White blood cells are cells that play a role in the body's defense system. The reason is, white blood cells help fight infections in the body, such as viruses, bacteria, parasites and fungi. In patients infected with dengue fever, the white blood cell count is usually normal but then decreases (leukopenia) and neutropenia becomes dominant. Thisresearch was conducted from March to April 2023.The aim of this study was to measure the number of white blood cells in dengue fever patients. This type of research is descriptive. The research was carried out using an automatic analysis method (blood analysis) in the laboratory ofKlinik Dr.Trisna Garut, using samples from 30 dengue fever patients who were tested. In this study, the number of white blood cells in dengue fever patients at Klinik Dr.Trisna Garut was 14 (46.7%).Wich is Normal And the white blood cell count results of dengue fever patients at Klinik Dr.Tisna Garut General Hospital decreased by 16 (54.3%).

Abstract

Laboratory testing is part of a medical process, both from the beginning to the monitoring of diagnostic development, often the urine tested experiences delays due to late delivery of samples or other factors. One element in the urine is the body of ketone (acetoacetate, 3-hydroxybutyrate, and acetone). Acetone includes the classification of ketones with easily evaporating properties due to temperature. Urine ketone is checked by dipstick methods. There's a 10-90% decrease in urine ketone if urine tests are delayed for 2 hours. Of the 30 urine samples with varying results, which are decreasing and increasing but still touch the normal value limit of urine ketone 0.5 mmol/L. Optimal handling and time of urine sampling for urine ketone testing should be observed to maintain medical protocol and ensure more accurate diagnostic results on the public health service network.

Abstract

gout attacks women who are generally women at the age of menopause. During menopause, women experience a decrease in the function of the ovaries, resulting in a decrease in the function of the hormone estrogen, so that during menopause, women are susceptible to an increase in uric acid levels in the blood. To find out the description of uric acid levels in menopausal women in the Rancapanggung Village area, Cililin District, West Bandung Regency. The research method used was descriptive observational, the sample consisted of 32 menopausal women in the Rancapanggung Village area, Cililin District, West Bandung Regency. The data collection technique uses a frequency distribution table with direct uric acid examination of menopausal women. The results of the study showed the frequency distribution of uric acid levels in menopausal women, most of the respondents had high uric acid levels because previously most of the respondents had a history of gout. Most respondents had high uric acid levels in the age range 50 years and above. The high levels of uric acid in menopausal women in the Rancapanggung Village area, Cililin District, West Bandung Regency are mostly in the age range 50 years and above.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the creatinine levels in hypertension patients in Astana Anyar District. Creatinine is an important indicator of kidney function, and increased creatinine levels are often associated with kidney dysfunction, which can be influenced by hypertension. This study used a descriptive method with a sample of 30 hypertension patients randomly selected. Creatinine levels were measured through blood analysis using an enzymatic method. The results showed that 30% of the samples had creatinine levels above normal, indicating possible kidney dysfunction. Additionally, a positive correlation was found between the severity of hypertension and increased creatinine levels. These findings highlight the importance of routine monitoring of creatinine levels in hypertension patients for early detection and management of kidney disorders. Further research is needed to understand the mechanisms underlying the relationship between hypertension and increased creatinine levels, as well as effective interventions to manage this condition.
