Abstract

Kata Kunci : Miskonsepsi, Gaya Gesek, CRI Termodifikasi Abstract: The purpose of this research was to describe student’s misconception for friction concept on eleven grade in MAN 2 Pontianak. The method used in this research was description-exploration with Certainty of Response Index (CRI) Modification. The result showed that 11% students were known concept, 52% students were misconception, and 37% students were unknowing concept. Students misconceptions were classified in two categories. The categories were mathematics calculation error that related to student’s concept mastery and concept error that related to application of friction force on an object. Based on reasoning essay test, student’s misconceptions were caused by many factors such as student’s pre-conception, associative thinking, humanistic thingking, error reasoning, and  error intuition. Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim of addressing students' misconceptions in dynamic electricity topics through the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by an e-module based on refutation text. The research design uses an experimental method, in the form of a pre-experimental design and a one-group pretest-posttest design, as well as the cluster random sampling technique. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 2 Pontianak, with a research sample consisting of 31 ninth-grade students. The data collection instrument consisted of five items in the form of a two-tier multiple-choice test, and the results were categorized based on the combination of students' answers and justifications. The data obtained in the study were analyzed using normality tests and the Wilcoxon test, as well as effect size calculations using Cohen's formula as adopted by Glass. The research results show that the average misconception rate among students decreased from 43.2% to 14.9%, with an average misconception reduction of 28.3%, as evidenced by the Wilcoxon test results with an Asymp.Sig value of 0.000 (0.000 < 0.05), and an effect size calculation result of 3.14 (high category). This study proves that the application of the PBL model assisted by an e-module based on refutation text can overcome students' misconceptions in dynamic electricity topics with a high level of effectiveness.

Abstract

Abstract

Apparatus capable of recording time-dependent data in experiments is essential for physics learning. In this study, we developed an experimental apparatus for Simple Harmonic Motion (SHM) on a spring to record time-dependent displacement. The development was carried out by integrating an HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor into the basic design of the SHM experiment. The study shows that, from a visual observation perspective, instead of exhibiting simple harmonic motion represented by the waveform y=Acos(ωt), the oscillator displayed damped harmonic motion characterized by a gradually shifting phase, following the waveform equation y=Acos(ωt+ϕ(t)). Focusing on the technical validation of the apparatus, both visual representation and deviation analysis indicated that the developed experimental apparatus showed good agreement with the theoretical trend, with a Mean Absolute Error (MAE) of 0.9329. The apparatus demonstrated the capability to record meaningful qualitative trend data of simple harmonic motion to support analytical learning processes.

Abstract

This study examined GPT-5's ability to construct scientific explanations when solving direct-current (DC) circuit problems. The analysis focused on whether the model could provide correct claims, relevant evidence, and logically connected reasoning grounded in physics concepts. A qualitative descriptive design was employed, with GPT-5 accessed through ChatGPT Plus as the unit of analysis. The model responded to six image-based multiple-choice items adapted from a basic DC-circuit assessment. The items addressed electric current, potential difference, and electric power as represented by bulb brightness in series and parallel circuits. To standardize the elicited responses, each item was presented in a new conversation together with the same structured prompt requiring a claim, evidence, and reasoning. The responses were evaluated using an analytic rubric with a maximum score of five per item. GPT-5 obtained 30 out of 30 points, corresponding to 100% across the six items. Its responses consistently selected the correct option, applied appropriate equations and circuit principles, and connected the evidence to the claim through coherent reasoning. These findings indicate that, under the specific prompting conditions and limited item set used in this study, GPT-5 demonstrated strong scientific explanation performance in basic DC-circuit contexts. Nevertheless, the findings should not be generalized to other physics topics, prompt formats, or AI systems without further investigation.
