Abstract

In the digital age, TikTok has emerged as a dominant platform influencing consumer behavior, particularly in the beauty and skincare industry. While previous research has explored the general impact of social media on purchase intention, limited studies have focused on the combined effect of TikTok-specific content and the psychological phenomenon of Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) within a localized urban context. This study aims to investigate the influence of TikTok and FoMO on the purchase intention of the skincare brand Skintific among urban TikTok users in Bandung, Indonesia. Employing a quantitative explanatory approach, data were collected from 331 respondents aged 18–34 through an online survey using non-probability purposive sampling. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression via SPSS software. The findings reveal that both TikTok social media and FoMO have a positive and statistically significant influence on consumer purchase intention. Uniquely, this study identifies how trendy, emotionally engaging TikTok content synergizes with FoMO to create psychological urgency, leading to heightened purchase desire, especially for skincare products that promise immediate social validation. By situating the analysis within the context of a rapidly growing Southeast Asian urban market, this research provides nuanced insights into how digital content and emotional triggers jointly shape e-commerce behavior. The study offers practical implications for marketers, suggesting that effective TikTok strategies should combine compelling content with psychological cues to maximize consumer engagement. This research contributes to the evolving digital marketing and behavioral psychology literature by highlighting a context-specific, dual-factor influence on consumer decision-making.

Abstract

The process from pregnancy to childbirth is a natural phase for women, during which spousal support plays a critical role. To enhance this support, a pocket guide can provide structured and accessible information for husbands. This study aims to assess the impact of using a pocket guide on husbands' knowledge, support, and compliance during childbirth preparation at the Bojonggede Health Center in Bogor Regency. A quasi-experimental method with a pre-test and post-test control group design was used. The population consisted of husbands of women in their third trimester of pregnancy, selected through total sampling. The study was conducted from May to June 2024. Data analysis using the Mann-Whitney test revealed significant effects: the pocket guide improved knowledge (p = 0.002), support (p = 0.013), and compliance (p = 0.001) in the childbirth preparation process. The N-Gain score of 56.93% indicates moderate effectiveness. These findings suggest that pocketbooks are a useful tool in improving husbands' roles in supporting their partners through childbirth. The study concludes that pocketbooks positively influence husbands' involvement and recommends their use by health workers, especially midwives, in antenatal care settings to foster greater spousal engagement during pregnancy and childbirth.

Abstract

Background: The low interest in consuming Fe tablets is one of the factors that causes the standard management of anemia in adolescent girls to still not be optimal. Fitamia is a powdered drink combining carrot and ginger which aims to attract teenagers' interest in consuming functional drinks which have the potential to increase hemoglobin levels. The aim of the research is to analyze the effectiveness of Fitamia powder drinks in improving anemia in adolescent girls. Methods: This research uses a quantitative approach in the form of a randomized experiment with a pretest and posttest with control group design. Sampling used a multistage sampling technique. Data analysis used paired t-test, independent t-test, N-Gain percent, and Mann-Whitney. Results: Fitamia powder drink increased hemoglobin levels on the 31st day (p-value < 0.001) and on the 45th day (p-value < 0.001). The acceptability of Fitamia powder drinks is higher than Fe tablets in terms of color (p-value 0.007), aroma (p-value 0.011), taste (p-value <0.001) and lower gastrointestinal effects compared to Fe tablets (p-value < 0.001). Conclusion: Fitamia powder drink can increase hemoglobin levels in young women. The acceptability of Fitamia powder drink products is higher than Fe tablets and causes lower gastrointestinal effects than Fe tablets. Fitamia powder drink is recommended as an alternative iron supplementation for young women due to its effectiveness in increasing hemoglobin levels, higher acceptability, and fewer gastrointestinal side effects.

Abstract

The Directorate General of Vocational Education, Ministry of Education and Culture, has begun to pay more attention to Vocational education. The real steps of the Directorate General of Vocational Education of the Ministry of Education and Culture can be seen from its two special programs, namely the D2 fast track program for SMK and the D-3 upgrade program to applied bachelor's degree. This study aims to provide a basis for one of the universities in Bandung to determine whether it is the right step to increase the D-3 level to become an Applied Bachelor. Quantitative Descriptive Analysis was conducted to provide a real picture of the condition of existing D-3 students. The results showed that the majority of students chose the D-3 level because they wanted to immediately graduate from college and then work. Meanwhile, students who enter the D-3 level because they are not accepted in the first choice occupy the lowest position on the D-3 level selection criteria indicator and are included in the assessment criteria. Therefore, there is still no urgency to increase the D-3 level to an Applied Bachelor degree from the perspective of higher education consumers, namely college students.
