Abstract

Breast engorgement is the damming of milk due to constriction of the lactiferous ducts or by incomplete emptying of the glands or due to nipple abnormalities. The breasts are hot and hard to the touch and painful; the body temperature does not rise. The nipples may be flat and this makes it difficult for the baby to suckle. Sometimes the release of breast milk is also blocked because the ductuli are narrowed due to enlarged veins and lymph vessels, the purpose of this study is to determine the description of what factors cause Breast Milk Damage (ASI) in Postpartum Mothers in Baregbeg sub-district, Ciamis district in 2024 which includes age, education, occupation, parity, gestational age, and knowledge. the research used is quantitative descriptive which aims to obtain a description of the factors that cause breast milk dams in postpartum mothers. The number of samples in this study consisted of 13 postpartum women respondents. The results of this study found that most respondents aged 20-25 years were 9 people (69.3%), had a junior high school education as many as 7 people (53.84%), the gestational age of the mother was aterem as many as 12 people (92.3), maternal peritas as many as 9 people (69.23%), maternal work as many as 10 people did not work (76.92%), and sufficient knowledge as many as 8 people (61.35).

Abstract

Early Initiation of Breastfeeding (EIBF) is the process where a newborn begins breastfeeding within the first hour after birth through skin-to-skin contact between the mother and baby. The implementation of EIBF is an important intervention to reduce neonatal mortality and increase exclusive breastfeeding success. However, the implementation of EIBF is still not optimal in various health facilities. This study aims to identify factors influencing the implementation of Early Initiation of Breastfeeding in newborns based on previous research findings. The method used was a literature review by analyzing scientific articles obtained from Google Scholar, PubMed, and ScienceDirect databases published within the last 10 years. Articles were selected based on inclusion criteria relevant to the research topic. The results of the review show that factors influencing the implementation of EIBF include maternal knowledge, maternal attitudes toward breastfeeding, support from health workers, family support, mode of delivery, and health facility policies. In conclusion, the success of EIBF implementation is influenced by individual factors, health worker support, and health service system factors. Therefore, increased maternal education and strong support from health workers are needed to improve EIBF implementation.

Abstract

Labor pain is a complex experience that may affect maternal outcomes if not properly managed. Relaxation techniques are increasingly used as safe non-pharmacological interventions. To evaluate the effectiveness of relaxation techniques in reducing labor pain. A systematic review following PRISMA 2020 was conducted using PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, and ScienceDirect (2019–2024). Randomized controlled trials and observational studies assessing relaxation techniques were included. Risk of bias was evaluated using RoB 2 and JBI tools. Thirty-four studies (18 RCTs, 16 observational) were included. Relaxation techniques reduced labor pain by 1.5–3.0 points on the VAS. Hypnobirthing and combined techniques showed the strongest effects, while breathing and mindfulness provided consistent moderate benefits. Relaxation techniques are effective and safe for reducing labor pain and should be integrated into midwifery care.

Abstract

Abstract

Background: The prevalence of anemia among pregnant women in Sukamulya Village has reached 60%, which is considerably higher than the provincial and national rates, indicating the need for educational and sustainable interventions. This community service program aimed to improve knowledge and preventive behaviors related to anemia through culturally based nutrition education and local food empowerment utilizing the SEHATI Digital Education innovation. Methods: This study employed a community service (PkM) program approach with a pre–post test design involving 60 participants (30 pregnant women and 30 posyandu cadres). The intervention included cadre training, education sessions for pregnant women, interactive modules, Sundanese-language educational videos, and a mobile-based digital application. Results: The implementation of Digital SEHATI increased pregnant women’s knowledge scores regarding anemia, iron (Fe) tablet consumption, and the utilization of local foods, from a mean pre-test score of 58 to 79 on the post-test (±36% increase). These findings indicate that the SEHATI digital education media has the potential to enhance health education outcomes compared to conventional approaches and support the establishment of the “Ibu Hamil Sadar Gizi Sukamulya (ISGS)” group as a platform for program sustainability. Conclusion: Technology-based nutrition education, combined with local food empowerment, effectively improved knowledge, health behaviors, and community capacity to prevent anemia among pregnant women.
