Abstract

This research was conducted with 50 students majoring in Science Education at IAIN Kudus. The objectives of this study were: 1) to identify local wisdom as a source of science education, 2) to analyze the integration of religious values in science education, and 3) to examine how the integration of local wisdom and religious values can enhance students' conceptual understanding. This study employed a mixed-methods approach. The findings revealed that the students utilized local potential and traditional knowledge as learning resources in science education. Moreover, the students integrated religious values such as responsibility, environmental concern, and preservation into their learning process. The integration of local wisdom and religious values in science education provided a contextual learning experience that presented a comprehensive understanding of natural phenomena and facilitated inquiry-based learning to construct students' multidisciplinary understanding. In conclusion, local wisdom in science education serves as a valuable learning resource that instills religious values and enhances students' conceptual understanding.

Abstract

Pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (IPA) di tingkat SMP masih menghadapi berbagai kendala, di antaranya metode pembelajaran yang bersifat teoritis dan minim praktik, rendahnya keterlibatan siswa, serta keterbatasan media dan alat praktikum. Kondisi ini menyebabkan peserta didik kesulitan memahami konsep abstrak seperti pertumbuhan tanaman dan komponen ekosistem. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelayakan KIT TERACOCO sebagai media pembelajaran interaktif berbasis eksperimen yang dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran IPA SMP. Metode yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan model 4D (Define, Design, Develop, dan Disseminate), yang dalam penelitian ini dilaksanakan hingga tahap Develop. Validasi dilakukan oleh enam ahli (media dan materi) serta uji keterbacaan oleh sepuluh siswa kelas VII SMP Nurul Ishlah Jepara. Hasil validasi menunjukkan skor rata-rata sebesar 91% untuk kelayakan media, 93% untuk kelayakan materi, dan 91% untuk kelayakan bahasa yang termasuk dalam kategori “sangat layak” untuk digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran. Uji keterbacaan oleh siswa juga menunjukkan hasil sebesar 91%, yang menandakan bahwa media mudah dipahami dan menarik minat belajar siswa. Dengan demikian, KIT TERACOCO dinilai layak digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran interaktif dalam pembelajaran IPA, khususnya pada materi pertumbuhan tanaman dan ekosistem.

Abstract

The use of digital modules in Natural Science (IPA) learning in junior high schools (SMP/MTs) in Jepara Regency is the focus of a comprehensive analysis to analyze the use of digital modules focusing on usage patterns, level of effectiveness, and implementation constraints. This study aims to provide a holistic picture of the contribution of digital modules to the quality of science learning through student perceptions. A descriptive quantitative method was applied by distributing structured questionnaires to 100 students from several schools. Descriptive statistical analysis and data triangulation were used to validate the findings. The results showed an intensive usage pattern, integrating independent access outside the classroom with structured use in the classroom, supported by interactive features that increase engagement and conceptual understanding. Digital modules proved effective in terms of ease of navigation, material relevance, and flexibility of learning time. However, their implementation is still hampered by internet network instability, limited student devices, and low teacher digital competency. The conclusion of this study states that digital modules are an adaptive and effective medium, with recommendations for strengthening infrastructure, equalizing access, and ongoing training for educators and students.
