Abstract

More than half of Indonesia's population are internet users. Data from Internet World Stats in 2022 shows that the number of internet users in Indonesia has reached more than 76.5% of the total population. Internet users are not only young people but also the elderly. BPS data in 2020, out of 270.20 million people, 11.56% are Baby Boomers (55-70 years old). The elderly who are digital immigrants, namely those who were born when digital media did not exist, were then forced to move in droves to a completely digital world. Their habits and cultures are certainly very different. In this dilemma, it is not uncommon for elderly people to be the target of misuse of digital devices. Physical, structural and interpersonal factors make elderly people vulnerable to negative access in the digital world. The threat of digital fraud, hoaxes, and hate speech is also before them. So we need a digital literacy training program for the elderly, especially in accessing digital security.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the competence of elementary school teachers in Makassar in teaching English through a collaborative approach. This training is designed to equip teachers with innovative, communicative-based teaching strategies that are in accordance with the needs of elementary school students. The methods used in this training include interactive workshops, group discussions, and teaching simulations that allow participants to directly practice the material they have learned. In addition, a collaborative approach is applied by involving teachers in sharing experiences and preparing joint lesson plans. The results of the activity show that this training has a positive impact on teachers' understanding of effective English teaching methods. Participants responded positively to the material presented and felt more confident in implementing new strategies in the classroom. In addition, collaboration between teachers also increased, creating a learning community that supports continuous professional development. In conclusion, this training has succeeded in making a real contribution to improving the quality of English teaching in elementary schools. It is hoped that similar activities can continue to be carried out to support teacher professionalism and improve the quality of English education at the elementary level.

Abstract

Abstrak Pengabdian ini memiliki tujuan dalam mengelola kompetensi guru dalam menyiapkan perangkat ajar berupa modul ajar dalam kurikulum merdeka. Jenis penelitian yang dilakukan yakni kualitatif dengan metode pengabdian yang digunakan adalah pelatihan dan pendampingan. Pelatihan dalam penelitian ini memberikan mentoring kepada peserta yakni guru guru dalam memberikan materi penyusunan modul ajar lalu mentoring tentang penyusunan modul ajar dengan materi kebutuhan gaya belajar peserta didik. Hasil dari penelitian ini diantaranya pelatihan dan pendampingan ini efektif dalam meningkatkan kapasitas guru dalam menyusun modul ajar. Pengabdian ini memberikan kontribusi dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran di SD/MI, SMP/MTs, dan SMA/MA se-Kecamatan Suppa Kabupaten Pinrang. Modul ajar yang kontekstual dan efektif dapat membantu peserta didik untuk belajar dengan lebih bermakna dan mencapai tujuan yang optimal.
