Abstract

Employees work standing and chairs without backrests with repetitive leg and hand movements during work with a normal 8-hour period. Production machines and seats are designed without taking into account the anthropometry of workers, anthropometry is needed in the design of tools and work equipment. The purpose of anthropometry in designing tools and equipment is to make harmony between humans and work systems, so that labor can work comfortably. So that workers must adjust themselves at work conditions like this force workers to always be in an unergonomic attitude and work position that lasts a long time. The purpose of this study is to determine the level of work fatigue, determine the risk factors of musculoskeletal disorders (Msds) and determine the effect of Work Fatigue on Complaints of Musculoskeletal Disorders (Msds) in Female Workers. The method used is simple regression analysis, work fatigue is measured using the IFRC (international fatigue research committee of japan association of industrial health) method and complaints of musculoskeletal disorders (Msds) are measured using the Nordic body map (NBM) method. The results showed there is an influence between job fatigue and musculoskeletal disorders (Msds) complaints in female workers at PT Amtek Plastic Batam.

Abstract

The development of the fashion sector in today's modern world is undoubtedly quite promising. Many entrepreneurs start industrial businesses in the clothing sector or what is often referred to as the garment industry, because the need for clothing production is very large. As a result of the very promising profits from the clothing business, many large, medium and small informal companies have flocked to open this business. As a profit-oriented company, on the other hand it also generates many health problems and increases the likelihood of workplace accidents. This is because there are many possible risks in the workplace, including chemical, physical, biological, ergonomic, as well as psychosocial hazards, all of which have an impact on the health of workers

Abstract

ABSTRACTThere are still many jobs whose flow is still manually that requires a worker to have more muscle and bone abilities. Sometimes everyone also has limitations, and muscle complaints often occur when doing manual work, especially musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). Activities carried out at PT Patria Maritim Perkasa are still manual, especially in the blaster section, so many workers complain of aches and pains in their bodies. This study aims to determine the subjective complaints of MSDs, the level of ergonomics risk, and the relationship between work posture, age, body mass index, exercise habits, and smoking habits on MSDs complaints. The tools used are NBM questionnaire, work posture image and employee characteristics questionnaire. The NBM questionnaire showed subjective complaints especially felt at the waist with a score of 23 (90.6%). The method used is the REBA method which produces a high level of risk, namely in the lower sandblasting operation with a score of 9 and during material transfer for sandblasting and preparation of sandblasting equipment with a score of 8. Based on the results of research trials related to MSD complaints are work posture, age and body mass index, exercise habits and smoking habits. There is no relationship with MSD claims, with a significance > 0.05.

Abstract

The increasing use of technology in the industrial world has another significant impact on the occupational health and safety of workers. A work environment that is too noisy can lead to counter-productive, unhealthy, and upsetting situations. Based on the measurement results in the extruder machine area obtained with an average value of 96.62 dBA, this value exceeds the standardized Threshold Value (NAV) of 85 dBA for 8 hours of work. From the results of interviews conducted with several workers, many workers complain of hearing loss such as ringing in the ears, decreased hearing resulting in lack of concentration of the interlocutor. This study aims to analyze the effect of noise on hearing loss of PT Volex Indonesia workers. The population used in this study is all operators who work in the extruder machine area during the PVC manufacturing process. The data analysis method in this study uses quantitative methods that are processed using computer technology, namely the SPSS 21 program. The result of the regression coefficient of 19.651 means that for every noise value plus 1, hearing loss will increase by 19.651. So this regression coefficient has a significant effect so that noise affects hearing disturbance and from the results of the sig (2-tailed) correlation test 0.009 < 0.05, there is a strong correlation with the pearson correlation value of 0.771. It was concluded that there is an influence of noise on hearing loss.

Abstract

Delta Furniture UKM is an SME engaged in the furniture product industry in Batam. The purpose of the study is to analyze and identify the work posture of employees using the REBA method and provide suggestions for improvement in the most risky work processes based on REBA assessments. It is important to correct poor posture and working position because poor posture can lead to musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). The methods used in this study are Nordic Body Map (NBM) and Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA). Based on the results of interviews conducted with delta furniture employees, workers complained of pain in the waist and neck because the size of the table was too low so that employees worked in a squatting position and lowered their heads for a long time. In the wood cutting process, the REBA score was obtained 7.3 so that it was in the medium category and needed to be repaired, in the wood boring process the REBA score was obtained 5.6, in the medium category and needed to be repaired. The proposed improvement given is to improve work facilities in the form of desks that are in accordance with the anthropometric size of the worker, namely the dimension of the length of the lateral hand reach of 148.3 cm and the height of the standing elbow 88 cm. After repairing the work facility, the posture of the workers in the wood cutting section gets a REBA score of 2 and for the wood cutting part gets a REBA score of 3, so it is in the small category and no more repairs are needed.

Abstract

Pak Susilo Tofu Factory is one of the tofu factories engaged in the UMKM food industry. Tofu processing at Pak Susilo's factory still uses traditional tools and methods with minimal use of electrical energy. The problem that occurred in this study was the lack of knowledge and application of K3 in Pak Susilo's UMKM tofu. There were cases of health disorders and work accidents that occurred in the process of producing tofu so that efforts were needed to identify the risk of hazards and assess the risks. The purpose of this study was to improve occupational health and safety by identifying and assessing the level of risk of health disorders and work accidents and to provide appropriate control measures in the Pak Susilo tofu production process. The method used in this study was HIRA (Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment) to identify and assess the level of risk of hazards for workers at the Pak Susilo tofu factory. From the results of this study, 12 production processes of Mr. Susilo's tofu obtained jobs with a risk level of Extreme Risk (17%) as many as 2 jobs, High Risk (41%) as many as 5 jobs, Moderate Risk (17%) as many as 2 jobs and Low Risk (25%) as many as 3 jobs. The proposal given by 3 K3 experts for risk control to the owner of UMKM tofu Mr. Susilo is through eliminating sources of danger from the workplace, replacing safer tools, risk control measures with tool engineering to reduce potential hazards, reducing the risk of hazards in the workplace by changing policies and equipment that must be used to maintain occupational health and safety, namely PPE.

Abstract

Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Indonesia continue to experience rapid growth, including Kerupuk Latansa SME in Batam City. However, the packaging activities at this SME are still performed using non-ergonomic work facilities, causing physical complaints among workers. This study aims to identify the level of Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) experienced by workers and to design ergonomic work facilities to improve posture and enhance work comfort. The methods used in this research include posture analysis using RULA (Rapid Upper Limb Assessment) and identification of physical complaints through the Nordic Body Map (NBM) questionnaire. Workers' anthropometric data were used as the basis for designing the work facilities. The results of the study revealed that the most common MSD complaints occurred in the neck, shoulders, back, upper arms, waist, knees, and calves, with a high-risk category. The total percentage of MSD complaints was 64% for Worker 1, 43% for Worker 2, 63% for Worker 3, and 64% for Worker 4. As a solution, an ergonomic worktable was designed with specifications of 90.6 cm in height, 250 cm in length, a partition height of 20 cm, and a table tilt angle of 100°, adjusted according to workers' anthropometric data.

Abstract

Muscoskeletal Disorder is one of the causes of poor work posture during work activities. Efforts to minimize this complaint are by identifying, evaluating, and improving the products that are the work media and body posture while working. This study is a study conducted on the three work activities at UMKM Kerupuk Khas Bandung Rasa Puncar Tower Piayu Batam such as sorting crackers, frying and filtering crackers. Based on the results of body posture with Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) the three activities of sorting crackers, frying and filtering crackers are high-risk activities are frying activities with a bent position when taking or moving raw cracker materials to the fryer or other places can put excessive pressure on the lower spine (lumbar). If workers often lift materials in a non-ideal position, the risk of back and shoulder muscle injuries increases. The improvements made by the researcher were to design a frying table using anthropometric data with the Front Arm Length (JTD) used for a frying pan diameter of 80 cm. Standing Elbow Height (SEL) is used as a benchmark for table height with a result of 100 cm. Hand Span (RT) is used for the length of the cracker frying table with 240 cm by placing 2 frying pans for 2 cracker frying workers.
