Abstract

This research is based on the difficulties faced by MTs of state 2 Kendal students in learning Arabic writing skill, especially VIII-grade students. Among the difficulties they experience include remembering vocabulary, arranging sentences in the correct grammatical structure, and expressing ideas in written form. This difficulty is motivated by several factors, for example the characteristics of Arabic writing itself which are very different from Indonesian writing. Another factor is that students' levels of understanding vary due to their different educational backgrounds. The Cooperative Learning model assisted by comic strip media is present as one of the efforts offered as an alternative to this problem. The aim of this research is to describe the application of the Cooperative Learning model assisted by comic strip media for Arabic writing skill in VIII grade at MTs of state 2 Kendal students and analyze its effectiveness. The type of research in this study is quantitative research using a quasi-experimental research design with a non-equivalent control group design pattern. The data collection techniques used are test and non-test techniques. The results showed that the increase in the experimental class score from pre-test to post-test was greater than the control class. The average pre-test and post-test scores for the control class were 70,59 and 76,41. Meanwhile, the average pre-test and post-test scores for the experimental class were 73,59 and 84,64. Based on the t-test using SPSS, it is known that the significance value obtained is 0,007. Because 0,007 < 0,05 then H1 is accepted. Based on this statement, it can be concluded that "the Cooperative Learning learning model assisted by comic strip media is effective for teaching Arabic writing skill to students in  VIII grade at MTs of  state 2 Kendal". These results are also supported by non-test data which shows the impact and positive responses of students to the Cooperative Learning learning model assisted by comic strip media.

Abstract

In learning, applying developmentally appropriate methods can increase students' learning enthusiasm and focus because they include activities that refer to students' interests, level of cognitive development and social and emotional maturity. Class IX students at MTs Negeri 1 Bogor have not achieved the learning objectives in speaking skills. One of the factors for this is the lack of application of appropriate methods, resulting in boring learning and students being afraid to face this learning. This can affect students' speaking skills. Therefore, a fun method is needed where students do not feel pressured. The aim of this research is to determine the effectiveness of implementing card sort type quantum learning in learning Arabic speaking skills for class IX students at MTs Negeri 1 Bogor. The type and design of the research is experimental research with a quasi-experimental non-equivalent group design. Data collection techniques in this research used tests and non-tests. For test techniques, the instruments used are questions in the form of oral tests, while for non-test techniques they are interviews, observations, questionnaires and documentation. The data analysis technique used is hypothesis testing (T-test). The results of this research show that the card sort type quantum learning method is effective in improving the Arabic speaking skills of class IX students at MTs Negeri 1 Bogor. This is proven by the control class's average pre-test score of 70.80 and the control class' post-test score of 74.57. Meanwhile, for the experiment, the pre-test average was 65.16 and the post-test average was 75.16. In the data analysis regarding the level of normality test for the two classes, the control class and the experimental class in the pre-test and post-test were normally distributed. Apart from that, the t-test calculation using SPSS version 29 obtained a pre-test and post-test significance value of 0.001, which means significance <0.05. This is also proven by an increase in the average of the pre-test and post-test of the experimental class. This shows that there is an influence of the card sort type quantum learning method on the post-test results of the experimental class. So Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Meanwhile, based on the results of closed questionnaires that have been filled out by students, it also proves that students can participate in learning well, focus, and easily understand Arabic language learning in speaking skills using the card sort type quantum learning method.

Abstract

This research was motivated by a problem in learning Arabic for 2nd grade students of MI Hidayatul Insan Karanganyar. To understand the problems faced in learning Arabic in grade 2 students of MI Hidayatul Insan Karanganyar, it is necessary to look at the characteristics of student development at that age. Grade 2 elementary school students are still in the developmental stage where play is the main activity. They often have trouble sitting still, lose focus easily, and prefer physical activity as well as interactive. The problems that arise are low ability to collaborate and communicate in study groups, feeling bored learning in class, and lack of motivation when learning methods are monotonous and do not involve play activities. This makes learning less effective. This can affect students' listening skills. Therefore, a more creative method is needed, where the method involves students more in learning so that students can be more active in learning. This study aims to identify the effectiveness of the application of the Outdoor Learning-based TGT-type cooperative method on Arabic listening skills in grade 2 students of MI Hidayatul Insan Karanganyar. This study is a quantitative research with an experimental research design. Data collection techniques use tests and non-tests. The test instruments used are pretest and postest. As for non-tests, including interviews, observations, questionnaires, and documentation. Data analysis techniques are in the form of normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis tests. This study shows that the cooperative method of TGT type based on outdoor learning is effective in improving the Arabic listening skills of 2nd grade students of MI Hidayatul Insan Karanganyar. The average pretest and posttest scores of the control class were 66.11% and 83.33%, while the average pretest and posttest scores of the experimental class were 57.22% and 83.33%. In the data analysis regarding the level of normality test, the control class and the experimental class were normally distributed. The results of the t-test using SPSS version 29 showed a significance of 0.001, which means that there was a significant increase in the results of the experimental class. This proves the positive influence of the outdoor learning-based TGT method on learning outcomes.
