Abstract

The implementation of the Independent Curriculum in Indonesia faces various challenges, especially in MA/Mu'alimin Manba'ul Huda, Bandung. The main obstacles include the lack of understanding of teachers regarding the concept and implementation of the Independent Curriculum as well as the inconsistency between the madrasah curriculum and the Independent Curriculum in the administrative aspect of assessment. The Independent Curriculum provides flexibility for schools to adjust learning, but this requires teachers to have higher managerial skills and creativity. To overcome this obstacle, several solutions have been proposed. First, more structured continuous training to improve teachers' understanding and skills. Second, the provision of comprehensive documentation related to the Independent Curriculum to facilitate adaptation. Third, mentoring by experienced teachers to encourage collaboration and knowledge sharing. In addition, the use of digital platforms is expected to accelerate the adaptation process by providing a space to share materials and experiences practically. Integrated assessment administration management between the two curricula is also the key to successful implementation. This requires a systematic system so that educational goals according to the Independent Curriculum can be achieved effectively. Through this approach, the existing challenges are expected to be overcome, so that the Independent Curriculum can encourage better quality education in Indonesia.

Abstract

Pesantren holds a significant position in Indonesia's educational system, functioning as key institutions for religious education and cultural preservation. This study aims to examine the implementation of religious moderation policies within pesantren to encourage interfaith understanding and collaboration among diverse religious groups in Indonesia. Using a mixed-methods approach, the research gathered data from interviews, surveys, and document analysis across a range of pesantren in Indonesia. Findings reveal multiple initiatives to foster religious moderation, including incorporating interfaith education into curricula, enhancing students' critical thinking skills, and promoting gender equality practices. These efforts have been met with successes and challenges; while students benefit from a broader perspective, obstacles such as resource limitations, cultural norms, and resistance to change were notable. This study underscores the vital role of pesantren in promoting religious moderation, which is crucial for nurturing understanding and peace among Indonesia’s religious communities. These findings offer meaningful insights for policymakers, educators, and community leaders on advancing religious tolerance and empathy within Islamic education, supporting the development of a more inclusive and cohesive society.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of the national curriculum and Madrasah Operational Curriculum (KOM) in an integrated manner at Madrasah Aliyah Swasta (MAS) Manbaul Huda, Bandung. This research is important to fill the void of studies on the integration strategy of general and religious curriculum in the context of madrasah, which is still limited. The method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through participatory observation and curriculum documentation. Data were analysed thematically to identify implementation patterns and curriculum adaptation strategies. The main findings show that this madrasah integrates the National Curriculum, the Ministry of Religious Affairs Curriculum, and the Islamic Association (Persis) Curriculum to create a balance between academic achievement and religious character building. The Madrasah Operational Curriculum (KOM) is developed in a participatory and contextualised manner as an adaptive instrument to translate national policies into local practices. The implication of this research shows that the strategy of integration and flexibility in the preparation of KOM can be an innovative model for religious education institutions in facing the challenges of 21st century education. The originality of this research lies in the combination of three curricula that are rarely studied simultaneously as well as the emphasis on the participatory approach in the preparation of KOM, which makes a conceptual and practical contribution to the development of a value and competency-based madrasah curriculum.

Abstract

The low motivation of students can be caused by the monotony of learning activities. Besides that, teachers are less varied in delivering material because they always use conventional methods, so that students play a less active role in learning. The involvement of students in learning will create a good impression and, of course, can make learning more meaningful, especially if students are directly involved in observations and practical activities. One of the learning strategies that can be used to attract students' attention is multi- intelligence-based learning. Learning activities based on multiple intelligences that are appropriate to the characteristics of the Fiqih material regarding the management of corpses are kinesthetic intelligence. The subjects in this study involved students in grades IX B and IX C MTs. As-Sa'adah Sukasari totaled 36 and 37 students, respectively. The instruments used in this study include observation sheets, motivation and multiple intelligence questionnaires, and learning outcomes tests. The results showed that students' motivation and learning outcomes increased after learning based on multiple intelligences. This can be seen from the average category of multiple intelligence questionnaire results on kinesthetic intelligence indicators of 80.77 with very good criteria. The results of the motivation questionnaire in the experimental class after learning multiple intelligences in the experimental class have a very high category (84.57), while in the control class it has a medium category (55.57). Student learning outcomes in the experimental class increased in the medium category (N-Gain 0.53) while the learning outcomes in the control class were in the low category (N-Gain 0.12).

Abstract

This research explores various reading learning strategies aimed at improving reading skills among students. By adopting a descriptive qualitative approach through literature study, this research identifies and analyzes the effectiveness of the SQ3R method, skimming and scanning techniques, as well as the application of critical and creative reading in educational contexts. Additionally, this research considers the role of technology in reading learning, highlighting how reading learning apps and software can motivate students and support inclusive and adaptive teaching. The findings from this study indicate that the integration of technology in reading instruction not only increases student motivation but also facilitates more personalized and effective learning. A combined approach between extensive and intensive reading has been proven to be effective in enriching reading comprehension and fluency. This study also emphasizes the importance of developing critical and creative reading skills to prepare students to face literacy challenges in the 21st century. The implications of this research offer valuable guidance for educators in designing and implementing comprehensive reading instructional strategies, which align with current educational standards and support the development of effective educational policies.

Abstract

The history of the emergence of culture and language in Indonesia has been a long process. In fact, some of them involve several important shops in it, one of which is Sanusi Pane. Sanusi pane became one of the figures who contributed in the form of literary works in which there was a mandate to foster a love for Indonesian culture and language. However, in this modern era, Sanusi Pane is not well known by the millennial generation. The purpose of writing this article is to analyze the work of Sanusi Pane, in which there is an effort to foster a love for Indonesian culture and language. Then, the researchers attempted to implement these values ​​through the Indonesian Language MKWU in universities. The method used in this research is qualitative using a content analysis approach. The text is studied using an objective literary study. By conducting an objective study, the researcher focuses on the text that is the material of the study. Then, the findings are analyzed based on aspects that contain love for culture and language. Furthermore, the findings are presented in the Indonesian language MKWU during the material history and language development.
