Abstract

Poultry industry waste products produce solid waste as a chicken feathers and liquid waste as a water used for processing meat. Disposal of this waste can cause pollution to the environment and living things because it contains ammonia. This research aims to determine the adsorption efficiency and the adsorption capacity of the adsorbent. The adsorbent was made using chicken feather waste which had been activated using HCl. The experiment used the batch system method with a speed of 150 RPM with a variation of the adsorbent mass of 1 gram, 2 grams and 3 grams with a time of 90 minutes. Ammonia levels in each sample were measured with a UV-VIS spectrophotometer. The results showed that the best adsorption capacity was using 1 gram of adsorbent mass with an efficiency level of 86.78% and an adsorption capacity of 31.97 mg/gram.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi kualitas air Sungai Tambak Oso saat ini dan mengusulkan rencana pengelolaan pencemaran. Dengan menggunakan purposive sampling, sampel air diambil dari empat lokasi, dan metode Indeks Pencemaran (IP) diterapkan, mengikuti Keputusan Menteri Lingkungan Hidup No. 115/2003. Enam parameter dianalisis: suhu, Total Suspended Solids (TSS), pH, Dissolved Oxygen (DO), Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), dan Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) untuk menilai kualitas air. Temuan tersebut mengungkapkan bahwa kualitas air di stasiun pengambilan sampel dikategorikan terkontaminasi ringan, dengan nilai Indeks Pencemaran sebesar 3,3. Studi ini menekankan perlunya keterlibatan masyarakat dalam pengelolaan sungai dan peningkatan operasi instalasi pengolahan air limbah. Pemantauan rutin dan mengidentifikasi sumber pencemaran sangat penting untuk pengendalian pencemaran yang efektif dan menjaga kesehatan sungai.

Abstract

ABSTRAKAir menjadi kebutuhan primer semua makhluk hidup. Pengolahan air minum Kota Surabaya dinaungi oleh Perusahaan Daerah Air Minum (PDAM) Surya Sembada. Setiap tahunnya kebutuhan air pelanggan Kota Surabaya semakin meningkat sehingga dilakukan peningkatan kapasitas pada setiap unit IPAM. Perubahan peningkatan kapasitas tersebut akan membuat kinerja IPAM dalam kondisi maksimal. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui efisiensi penyisihan unit IPAM Karangpilang III dibandingkan dengan penelitian terdahulu yang ada. Studi ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara dan observasi. Data yang digunakan merupakan data sekunder. Hasil analisis yang didapatkan yakni persentase penyisihan unit IPAM Karangpilang III pada Bulan Januari Tahun 2024 terdapat dua parameter yang memiliki persentase rendah yaitu parameter warna (-26,58%) dan nitrit (-35,00%). Efisiensi rata-rata parameter pada setiap unit di antaranya warna 89,05%, kekeruhan 99,29%, Nitrit 94,45%, Aluminium 67,78%, Amonia 73,17%, dan Zat organik 65,18%. Efisiensi penyisihan unit IPAM Karangpilang III PDAM Surya Sembada Kota Surabaya sebagian besar memiliki nilai yang efisien dan menandakan bahwa kinerja unit IPAM masih optimal.Kata kunci: efisiensi penyisihan, parameter, air bersih, unit IPAMABSTRACTWater is a primary need for all living things. The drinking water treatment of Surabaya City is managed by the Regional Drinking Water Company (PDAM) Surya Sembada. Every year, the water needs of Surabaya City customers increase so that the capacity of each IPAM unit is increased. The change in capacity increase will make the IPAM performance in maximum condition. The purpose of this study was to determine the efficiency removal of the Karangpilang III IPAM unit compared to previous studies. This study uses a descriptive quantitative method with data collection techniques through interviews and observations. The data used are secondary data. The results of the analysis obtained are the percentage of penyisihan of the Karangpilang III IPAM unit in January 2024, there are two parameters that have a low percentage, namely the color parameter (-26.58%) and nitrite (-35.00%). The average efficiency of the parameters in each unit includes color 89.05%, turbidity 99.29%, Nitrite 94.45%, Aluminum 67.78%, Ammonia 73.17%, and Organic matter 65.18%. The efficiency removal of the IPAM Karangpilang III PDAM Surya Sembada Surabaya City unit mostly has an efficient value and indicates that the performance of the IPAM unit is still optimal.Keywords: efficiency removal, parameters, clean water, IPAM unit

Abstract

Surabaya is the second largest city in Indonesia which is densely populated. The need for fresh water for the population of Surabaya is 4.61 m3/second, where many still use groundwater as a source of clean water. In this research, groundwater feasibility test will be carried out using 6 parameters at 31 points in the city of Surabaya. The water quality parameters to be tested are turbidity, temperature, pH, hardness (CaCO3), E. coli bacteria, and Dissolved Oxygen. The method used in the classification of ground water feasibility is the Mamdani method because it has a broad field coverage and is easily understood by humans. The results showed that the average quality of groundwater in the city of Surabaya was: turbidity 2.34 NTU, temperature 28.6 oC, pH 7.4, hardness (CaCO3) 349.67 mg/liter, and E. coli bacteria 0,13 CFU/100 ml, and DO 1.93 mg/l. The results of the evaluation of the feasibility of groundwater are compared with water quality parameters for hygiene and sanitation purposed based on PerMenKes No. 32 of 2017, all parameters have met the quality standards and are suitable as a source of clean water except for the parameter of E. coli bacteria. Based on the modeling using Fuzzy Mamdani type, there are ten sampling points that have groundwater that is not suitable as a source of clean water. Management recommendations for the protection of groundwater resources in the city of Surabaya for the community and for decision making by the government are disinfection using chlorine.

Abstract

Upaya pemerintah Kota Surabaya dalam reduksi sampah di sumber adalah dengan pengelolaan sampah di Tempat Pengolahan Sampah Reduce, Reuse, Recycle  (TPS3R). TPS 3R Tenggilis adalah salah satu TPS di Kota Surabaya yang memiliki potensi reduksi sampah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pengelolaan tempat pengolahan sampah Reduce, Reuse dan Recycle (TPS 3R) Tenggilis ditinjau dari cakupan layanan dan potensi reduksi yang dimiliki. . Metode yang digunakan adalah pengumpulan data primer berupa sampling timbulan dan komposisi sampah. Sedangkan data sekunder didapatkan dari hasil observasi pengelolaan sampah eksisting, wawancara, dan studi literatur. Hasil analisis di TPS3R Tenggilis menunjukkan, timbulan sampah rata-rata  sebesar 5.047,29 kg/hari dengan cakupan pelayanan 14 hingga 24 RT dari kelurahan Tenggilis Mejoyo dan Kendangsari per hari. Jenis sampah yang diterima sangat beragam mulai dari Organik, Plastik PET, Plastik HDPE, Plastik PVC, Plastik LDPE, Plastik PP, Plastik PS, Mix Plastik, kardus, Tetrapack, kertas, kaca, logam, kaleng, kayu, kain, karet, Diapers dll. Komposisi terbesar adalah sampah organik, 65,789%, kedua terbesar sampah plastik 12,15%,. Alur kegiatan pengelolaan sampah di TPS3R Tenggilis meliputi kegiatan penimbangan sebelum masuk ke conveyor belt pemilahan sampah. Hasil pemilahan sampah anorganik diteruskan dengan bailing dan pembersihan sebelum ke pengepul. Sampah organik diolah dengan komposting menggunakan open windrow dan magot BSF dan residunya diangkut ke TPA Benowo. Berdasarkan hasil analisis diketahui bahwa TPS 3R Tenggilis Kecamatan Tenggilis Mejoyo Kota Surabaya menghasilkan rata-rata timbulan sampah yang masuk sebesar 5.047,29 kg/hari dengan cakupan pelayanan 14 hingga 24 RT dari kelurahan Tenggilis Mejoyo dan Kendangsari disetiap harinya.

Abstract

Pegirian River is a tributary of the Kalimas River from Undaan street which empties into the Tambak Wedi sluice gate. The results of the BLH Surabaya laboratory analysis in 2015 showed that the BOD concentration in the Pegirian River throughout the year did not meet quality standards. This study intends to evaluate water quality based on physical, chemical and biological parameters applying the Qual2Kw model; to assess water quality status by applying data from STORET; and to determine the capacity of the Pegirian River. Samples were taken from four locations in the morning and evening with the parameters tested being temperature, TSS, pH, BOD, COD, DO, PO4, NH3, and E coli. Based on modeling with Qual2Kw, the quality of the Pegirian River in simulation 1 (existing) shows that the BOD, phosphate, amonia and E coli parameters have exceeded class IV river quality standards, thus indicating that the quality of the Pegirian River is polluted. For simulation 2 (prediction for 2029) only the BOD parameter exceeds class IV river quality standards. Simulations 3 (self purification) and 4 (capacity capacity) are still in line with class IV river quality standards for all parameters. The water quality status of the Pegirian River according to the STORET method obtained a total score of -47.75 which indicates a heavily polluted status. Pegirian River has a capacity for TSS, BOD, COD, phosphate, amonia and E coli parameters.

Abstract

The river in Sidoarjo has been contaminated with microplastics. One of the rivers in Sidoarjo which has quite a lot of sources of pollution is the Buntung River, such as the presence of rubbish heaps and burning of rubbish around the river. This research aims to determine the type, color and size of microplastics, as well as differences in the abundance of microplastics in water and sediment in the Buntung River, Sidoarjo. This research is quantitative descriptive. The sampling locations were 6 locations. Sample preparation was carried out using a solution of 0.05 M Fe(II), 30% hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), and NaCl. Then the samples were identified using a stereo microscope and the EpView application, while for comparison of the average abundance of water and sediment using the Independent T-Test. The results showed that in the water samples the most dominant type was 39% fragments, 30% blue, 53% measuring 0.1 mm - 0.5 mm, and the average abundance was 3,725 particles/m3. Meanwhile, in the sediment samples, the most dominant type was fragments 46%, blue 28%, size 0.1 mm – 0.5 mm 70%, and an average abundance of 1,735 particles/kg. The results of statistical tests show that there are differences in the abundance of microplastics in the water and sediment in the Buntung River.

Abstract

Peningkatan penduduk skala perkotaan dapat meningkatkan jumlah sampah. Jika pengelolaan sampah tidak maksimal dapat menyebabkan pencemaran lingkungan. Salah satu tempat untuk mengelola sampah yaitu TPS 3R. TPS 3R mampu melakukan pengelolaan sampah dari sumber dengan metode dekomposisi dan pengelolaan sampah secara ramah lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan analisis aspek teknis pengelolaan sampah di TPS 3R Desa Janti. Analisis yang akan dilakukan diantaranya yaitu analisis densitas sampah, timbulan sampah, komposisi sampah, recovery factory sampah, mass balance sampah. Hasil dari penelitian kali ini menunjukkan timbulan sampah yang dihasilkan TPS 3R Desa Janti sebesar 3.822 kg/hari. Material sampah yang dapat diolah kembali (recovery factory) di TPS 3R Desa Janti sebesar 2.085 kg/hari. Total sampah yang tidak diolah dan dikirim ke TPA sebesar 1.912 kg/hari dengan persentase 45,44% dari total sampah yang masuk di TPS 3R Desa Janti. Hasil analisis aspek teknis pengelolaan sampah di TPS 3R Desa Janti yaitu perlu adanya perlakuan tambahan terkait Pemilahan sampah di TPS 3R Desa Janti yang harus dioptimalkan dengan penambahan jenis sampah yang dipilah. Hal tersebut dilakukan untuk mengoptimalkan pengelolaan sampah dalam aspek teknis di TPS 3R Desa Janti.
