Abstract

Hemorrhoids are diseases affecting the rectum and anus caused by damage to the hemorrhoidal plexus or blood vessels around the rectum and anus. If hemorrhoids are large lumps, then one of the steps is hemorrhoid surgery. One of the effects of post-hemorrhoidectomy is pain felt in post-hemorrhoidectomy patients. This study aims to apply the application of sitz bath hydrotherapy to decrease pain intensity in post-hemorrhoidectomy patients. The method used for this application is a case study. The length of pain felt was measured using the VAS and NRS pain scales. The results of this study indicate that the application of sitz bath hydrotherapy with the main ingredient of warm water at a temperature of 40-45OC can be applied to post-hemorrhoidectomy patients who experience moderate to severe pain. Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic necessitated a shift to online learning or study from home (SFH), which introduced a range of psychological stressors and associated challenges. This study investigated the correlation between stress levels and SFH among students. Utilizing an observational study design, the research included 241 respondents. Various validated instruments were employed to measure the scores of each variable and ethical clearance was secured before the study commenced. Spearman rank testing was conducted to assess the correlation between stress and SFH. The results demonstrated a significant correlation, indicating that studying from home contributes to heightened stress levels among students. Based on these findings, it is recommended that community healthcare professionals develop and implement interventions that specifically address the psychological well-being of students engaged in home-based learning. Abstract

Abstract: Acute wounds require quick and appropriate treatment to prevent complications such as infection and scar tissue formation. This study aims to develop and optimize an ointment formula based on Graptophyllum pictum L. Griff wungu leaf extract and klanceng honey, which is intended to prepare for the healing of acute wounds. Graptophyllum pictum L Griff leaves are known to have anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties, while klanceng honey is famous for its ability to accelerate tissue regeneration. The research process included the determination of Graptophyllum pictum L Griff leaves to ensure the authenticity of the ingredients, extraction using the maceration method with 96% ethanol and the manufacture of Graptophyllum pictum L Griff leaves ointment with concentrations of F1 10%, F2 7.5% and F3 5%. Evaluation of physical properties through a series of preparation tests to assess organoleptic, homogeneity, pH, dispersibility, adhesion, and stability. The optimization of the ointment preparation of the combination of Graptophyllum pictum L Griff leaves and klanceng honey showed that the ointment met all quality criteria as an ointment preparation intended for acute wounds, the preparation also had excellent stability. This research is expected to be the basis for the development of natural products for the treatment of acute wounds that are more effective, and safe to use.
