Abstract

Abstract

Stress, environmental pollution, radiation, and excessive food processing contribute to the production of free radicals, which are harmful to the body. Antioxidants play a role in preventing free radicals from damaging nucleotides. Ginger contains high levels of antioxidants, making it beneficial for overall health. However, ginger has a short shelf life, and its traditional preparation methods are less preferred by many people. Therefore, ginger is now available in the form of instant drink powders, which can be prepared like tea or coffee. This study is a descriptive study using the hedonic test method. Thirty students were selected as panelists. The panelists evaluated two types of ginger drinks made with different sweeteners: sugar and a combination of sugar and palm sugar (sugar-palm sugar). The parameters assessed in this study were color, aroma, taste, and sweetness level. The results of the hedonic test showed that the ginger drink sweetened with the sugar-palm sugar combination had the highest preference percentages across all parameters: color, aroma, taste, and sweetness level. For color, the "like" preference level achieved a percentage of 40%. For aroma, the "really like" preference level reached 43.33%. Taste received a "really like" preference level of 53.33%, and sweetness achieved a "like" preference level of 36.67%. In conclusion, the panelists preferred the ginger drink sweetened with the sugar-palm sugar combination over the drink sweetened with just sugar. This preference is attributed to the addition of palm sugar, which balances the ginger's strong flavor while retaining its distinct taste. Furthermore, the combination of ginger and palm sugar produces a harmonious blend of color, aroma, taste, and sweetness that complements both ingredients.

Abstract

The existence of urban forests is very important in supporting climate, health and educational facilities in urban areas. The Giong Siu City Forest tourism was born from the creativity of the Babakan community, the Bahana Sustainable Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis). Potential of Giong Siu City Forest as an educational tourism facility. This research really needs to be carried out, considering the function of urban forests which is really needed in educational institutions and the community, more specifically in forestry study programs where one of the subjects is urban forests. The method used is descriptive qualitative, where data collection is carried out by classifying primary data and secondary data. For secondary data, interviews are conducted with managers and visitors as samples which are carried out using the exidential technique, namely collecting as much data as possible from potential and presentative visitors. Data analysis through the existing facilities approach (amenities, accessibility, accommodation, attractions and activities) as a guide in presenting data scientifically and clearly regarding events in the field at the time of the survey (existing conditions) by telling the true conditions of the urban forest. The research results show that 70% of the information obtained from visitors about the existence of the Giong Siu City Forest is from friends, meaning that socialization is still done manually by word of mouth, only 10% is from social media (Instagram) and 20% is from residents who actually live there. around the Giong Siu City Forest. The results of interviews with Giong Siu tourism managers, who more often visit the Giong Siu City Forest, mostly students, students and kindergarten or elementary school children who do outdoor study, Giong Siu is usually busy on Saturday nights and Sundays, because it is not only a place To relax, Giong Siu City Forest itself has prepared several tents and hammocks which have been facilitated by the government for visitors who want to camp. Based on the description above, it can be concluded that the Giong Siu City Forest already has various adequate facilities as a recreation area, camping ground, flying fox, prayer room and bathroom. However, there are several shortcomings that the Giong Siu City Forest management must pay attention to, such as the addition of bathroom facilities that do not utilize the empty land that still exists around the Giong Siu City Forest.

Abstract

This research examines the influence of visual comic media on student learning motivation based on different genders. The study applies visual comic media to investigate whether there are differences in learning motivation between male and female students. The activities were conducted at SD Negeri 1 Malaka, North Lombok Regency, involving a total of 45 students. The research utilized a pre-experimental design with a pre-test and post-test design within a single treatment group. The instrument used was a motivation questionnaire based on the ARCS model, covering aspects of attention, relevance, satisfaction, diligence, self-reliance, and self-confidence. The analysis results indicate significant differences in the attention and diligence aspects. Furthermore, female students showed higher motivation compared to male students. These findings indicate that demographic factors such as gender influence responses to learning media such as visual comics. This suggests a need to consider gender factors in the design of visual learning media to achieve maximum effectiveness in learning, particularly in enhancing student learning motivation.

Abstract

Ontological, Epistemological, and Axiological Analysis with a Case Study of Mataram City Forest Abstract Early detection of pest attacks is essential for maintaining the ecological performance and social comfort of urban forests. This study integrates philosophical perspectives—ontology, epistemology, and axiology—with empirical evidence to design an early-warning framework for pest detection in the Pagutan Urban Forest, Mataram, Indonesia. A structured literature review was conducted using major academic databases (Scopus, ScienceDirect, SpringerLink, and IEEE Xplore) focusing on studies published between 2023 and 2025. An ontological model was developed to represent key entities such as tree species, pests, symptoms, and environmental parameters, while remote-sensing findings (RDVI/NDVI and UAV imaging) were adapted into a conceptual early-detection scenario applicable to local conditions. Results indicate that multispectral indicators are capable of identifying pre-visual stress with high accuracy (>90%). Ontology-based integration also enhances data interoperability and supports decision-making across monitoring systems. Simulated interpretation of empirical findings suggests that 20–30% of trees may face seasonal infestation risk in Pagutan without timely intervention. The proposed framework provides a foundation for continuous monitoring, management prioritization, and assessment of social values associated with maintaining healthy urban trees. Key recommendations include the adoption of multitemporal satellite/UAV monitoring, the development of localized domain ontologies, and community participation as an axiological component of urban-forest stewardship.
