Abstract

Adolescence is a phase marked by curiosity and attraction to the opposite sex, which may influence their sexual behavior. According to BKKBN data from 2023, 60% of adolescents aged 16–17 years and 20% aged 14–15 years have engaged in sexual intercourse. A preliminary study at SMAN 1 Blega revealed that among 15 dating students, 4 reported kissing and petting. This study aimed to analyze the influence of parenting patterns, social media, and peer relationships on adolescent sexual behavior at SMAN 1 Blega. Using an analytical cross-sectional approach, the study surveyed 121 out of 158 grade 11 students through simple random sampling. Data analysis employed descriptive statistics, Spearman rank, and logistic regression. The findings indicated significant partial influences of authoritarian parenting (p=0.027; R²=0.208), non-risky social media access (p=0.002; R²=0.292), and peer influence (p=0.011; R²=0.256) on adolescent sexual behavior. Recommendations include replicating planned Generation (GenRe) and counseling teachers are advised to activate the Reproductive Health Information and Counseling Centers (PIK-R)programs tailored for adolescents and strengthening parental communication and supervision to mitigate risky sexual behaviors.

Abstract

Abstract

Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED) during pregnancy is a prolonged state of energy and protein insufficiency that increases health risks for both mother and fetus. Monitoring nutritional status alongside continuous antenatal care is essential for comprehensive maternal assessment. This case report aims to describe the assessment, analysis, management, and clinical progress of a third-trimester primigravida with CED using the SOAP approach. The subject was Mrs. L, a 28-year-old G1P0A0 woman at 26–29 weeks of gestation with an initial Mid-Upper Arm Circumference (MUAC) of 21.5 cm, treated at Independent Midwifery Practice (PMB) "S" in Klampis. Data were collected through anamnesis, physical and obstetric examinations, laboratory tests, documentation review, and literature study. Care was provided over three visits on June 25, June 30, and July 3, 2026. Interventions included education on CED and balanced nutrition, supplementary feeding, UHT milk, Fe, Multiple Micronutrient Supplements (MMS), calcium, psychological support, nutritional monitoring, and non-pharmacological management of tingling. Body weight increased from 42 kg to 45.5 kg, while MUAC increased to 22 cm. By the third visit, tingling had subsided, Hb was 11.4 g/dL, urine albumin was negative, and maternal-fetal conditions remained stable. However, as MUAC remained below 23.5 cm, CED was not yet resolved. Continued nutritional monitoring, supplementation, fetal growth assessment, and ANC are recommended until delivery.

Abstract

Anemia during pregnancy remains a maternal health problem that requires attention, particularly among third-trimester multigravida women who experience increased iron requirements approaching delivery. In Bangkalan Regency, 2,505 cases of anemia were recorded among 19,305 pregnant women (12.98%). This case report aims to describe the assessment, midwifery analysis, management, and clinical progress of a third-trimester multigravida woman with anemia at Midwifery Independent Practice V, Tanah Merah, Bangkalan. A descriptive design with a single case report approach was applied to Mrs. L, aged 31 years, G2P1A0, through three home visits conducted on June 19, June 25, and July 2, 2026. Data were obtained through interviews, observations, physical and obstetric examinations, hemoglobin measurement, the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Handbook, and SOAP documentation. At the first visit, the mother had no major complaints but presented with pale conjunctiva, a hemoglobin level of 10.8 g/dL, irregular iron tablet consumption, and suboptimal dietary patterns. Management included education on anemia and nutrition, appropriate consumption of iron and calcium tablets, increased intake of iron and vitamin C, moringa leaf tea as complementary therapy, adherence monitoring, management of third-trimester discomfort, birth planning and complication prevention (P4K), and family involvement. At the third visit, hemoglobin increased to 11.6 g/dL, the conjunctiva appeared pink, adherence improved, and physiological complaints decreased. Clinical improvement occurred following continuous care; however, the single-case design and concurrent interventions prevent determination of the contribution of each intervention. Continued monitoring of hemoglobin, iron tablet adherence, dietary patterns, and antenatal visits is recommended through the postpartum period.

Abstract

Preeclampsia is a hypertensive disorder of pregnancy that requires continuous maternal and fetal surveillance. In a third-trimester primigravida, the clinical condition may coexist with anxiety related to childbirth, requiring midwifery care that addresses both clinical and psychological needs. This case report aimed to describe SOAP-based midwifery care for a third-trimester primigravida with preeclampsia at PMB “I”, Klampis, Bangkalan Regency. A descriptive single case report was conducted involving Mrs. S, 21 years old, G1P0A0. The initial assessment at 34-35 weeks of gestation showed blood pressure of 140/90 mmHg and a history of urine protein +3. Data were obtained through history taking, vital-sign and obstetric examinations, Mean Arterial Pressure (MAP) and Roll Over Test (ROT), urine protein examination, ultrasonography results, and care documentation. Follow-up was conducted during four visits on June 22, June 30, July 4, and July 6, 2026. Care included education regarding warning signs, rest and nutrition, psychological support, adherence to obstetric review and prescribed therapy, and prenatal yoga and self-hypnosis as complementary interventions. During follow-up, blood pressure ranged from 130-140/90 mmHg, MAP from 103-106 mmHg, and ROT remained 15 mmHg. Urine protein, previously +3, was recorded as negative on July 4 and July 6, 2026. Fetal heart rate remained 135-145 beats/minute with cephalic presentation, while maternal anxiety gradually decreased. SOAP-based care supported systematic longitudinal monitoring, but the observed changes cannot be attributed solely to the complementary interventions because medical follow-up, prescribed treatment, health education, and family support continued throughout the case.
