Abstract

This research aims to examine the effectiveness of the Fingermathic method in forming students' independent learning character. This method is applied in mathematics learning in elementary schools with a focus on the use of fingers as a tool for visualizing arithmetic operations. The research involved students as test subjects who were assessed through an evaluation questionnaire on various aspects of the characteristics of independent learning. The results of the analysis show that the Fingermathic method can increase students' learning initiative and self-confidence, although more attention is still needed on the aspects of setting targets, overcoming difficulties, and evaluating learning outcomes. The conclusions of this research provide a basis for further development in designing learning strategies that support the formation of students' independent learning character at the elementary school level.            Keywords: student character; learning independence; fingermathic

Abstract

The implementation of this community service activity aimed to improve elementary school students' numeracy skills by using the Jarilipan method. This activity was carried out at SDN 010246 Banjar with target of 20 students. The Jarilipan method is applied as an innovative learning approach that integrates visual, interactive and game elements to enrich students' learning experiences in understanding mathematical concepts, especially counting operations. The activity implementation method consisted of 3 stages, namely the preparation, implementation and evaluation stages. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in students' numeracy skills after implementing the Jarilipan method. This makes a positive contribution to elementary school students' understanding and numeracy skills. Therefore, the Jarilipan method is an effective and interesting alternative in learning mathematics at the elementary level. It is hoped that the implications of this research will be a guide for teachers and education stakeholders in developing innovative learning strategies to improve student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Siswa sekolah SDN saat ini masih banyak yang belum mengenal literasi dan numerasi pada Bahasa Inggris sehingga mengalami kesulitan dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris ketika duduk dibangku sekolah menengah sederajat kedepannya. Siswa SDN mengalami kesulitan dalam kemampuan literasi dan numerasi dikarenakan tidak adanya mata pelajaran Bahasa Inggris di bangku SD yang mana mata pelajaran tersebut hanya sebagai muatan lokal. Di dalam kegiatan pengabdian masyrakat ini mengenalkan kosakata Bahasa Inggris kepada peserta didik dengan mengimplementasikan media flashcard. Media flashcard adalah media yang menyajikan meteri tentang pengenalan angka, warna, hewan, tumbuhan, dan lainnya. Tampailan yang menarik dapat meningkatkan minat peserta didik dalam mengenal kosakata dalam Bahasa Inggris lebih baik lagi. Metode yang digunakan di dalam pengabdian ini dengan metode ceramah, Tanya jawab, audio lingual dan pemberian tugas. Dengan metode tersebut menerapkan media flash card pada kegiatan pengabdian ini mengahsilkan kemampuan literasi dan numerasi peserta didik dalam pengenalan kosakata semakin meningkat.

Abstract

In-Service Teacher Professional Education is a program designed to improve the quality of teachers who are already in the office or are currently actively teaching. This program is carried out online, so this program also has several difficulties faced by students. This research was conducted at Asahan University to examine the difficulties of implementing lectures. Data was collected from 85 respondents. The main obstacles faced by students include internet network problems, technical obstacles, time constraints, difficulties in understanding the material, and adapting to change. The difficulties faced by PPG Daljab students require holistic attention from educational institutions. The government and educational institutions need to respond to these findings to ensure effective and inclusive learning in the context of PPG Daljab.
