Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of work motivation, leadership, and communication style—both individually and collectively—on employee performance at the Buleleng Regency Tourism Office. This research employed a population study design, involving all 42 employees with the status of State Civil Apparatus at the office. Data were collected using a survey method with a structured questionnaire as the research instrument. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS 21 for Windows. Prior to hypothesis testing, data quality assessments and classical assumption tests were conducted, including tests for normality, multicollinearity, and heteroscedasticity. The results show that work motivation does not significantly affect employee performance. In contrast, both leadership and communication style have a positive and significant partial effect on employee job satisfaction. Furthermore, work motivation, leadership, and communication style have a positive and significant simultaneous effect on employee performance at the Buleleng Regency Tourism Office.

Abstract

This study explores key human resource factors—workload, work motivation, and work environment—and their impact on the performance of health workers, with a focus on organizational efficiency in public health services. The research examines 64 midwives and nurses across 20 public health centers (Puskesmas) in Buleleng Regency, who were assigned additional tasks beyond their formal competencies and educational backgrounds. Data were gathered using an online questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The findings reveal that workload negatively and significantly affects performance, while work motivation and work environment have significant positive effects. When considered simultaneously, these three variables contribute positively to performance outcomes. These results highlight the importance of managing human capital effectively to enhance service delivery in public health institutions. The study offers valuable insights for health sector managers and policy makers seeking to improve performance through strategic human resource interventions.

Abstract

This study examines the role of employee engagement in reducing implicit turnover costs by enhancing workplace relationship quality and meaningful work. The research is motivated by inconsistencies in prior findings—some studies report a significant negative effect of employee engagement on intention to leave, while others find no significant relationship. Additionally, employee engagement has been explored as a mediating variable between workplace relationship quality and meaningful work on intention to leave, with mixed results. The study was conducted at BNI KC Cilegon (Persero) Tbk, involving 166 respondents. Data were analyzed using the Partial Least Squares (PLS) method via AMOS software. The findings reveal that workplace relationship quality has a significant direct effect on intention to leave. Furthermore, meaningful work serves as a partial mediator, while employee engagement fully mediates the relationship between the predictors and intention to leave. These findings highlight the strategic importance of fostering positive workplace relationships and creating meaningful work experiences. Such efforts not only enhance employee engagement but also reduce turnover intentions, thereby supporting organizational cost-efficiency and long-term sustainability.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of work culture, work motivation, and work environment on employee job satisfaction at PT PLN (Persero) Customer Service Unit (ULP) Singaraja. The phenomenon underlying this research is the mismatch between the company’s promoted work culture values and actual practices in the field, the decline in employee motivation due to heavy workloads, and the suboptimal physical work environment conditions. This research employs a quantitative approach with a survey method. The study population consists of all 121 employees of PLN ULP Singaraja, with a total sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS version 21. The results show that work culture and work motivation have a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction, while the work environment has a positive but insignificant effect. Simultaneously, the three variables significantly affect job satisfaction, with work motivation being the most dominant factor. These findings emphasize that improving employee job satisfaction is more effectively achieved through strengthening individual motivation and internalizing work culture values, accompanied by maintaining the existing work environment. This study is expected to serve as a strategic reference for management in designing policies to enhance employee well-being and productivity.

Abstract

This study aims to examine: (1) the effect of product quality on purchasing decisions, (2) the effect of ease of use on purchasing decisions, (3) the effect of trust on purchasing decisions, (4) the effect of product quality on trust, (5) the effect of ease of use on trust, (6) the mediating role of trust on the relationship between product quality and purchasing decisions, and (7) the mediating role of trust on the relationship between ease of use and purchasing decisions. The population of this study consisted of 61 fourth-semester students enrolled in the Master of Management Science Program at Ganesha University of Education. The census method was used to determine the sample, resulting in 61 participants. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) based on Partial Least Squares (PLS). The results indicate that: (1) product quality has a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions, suggesting that higher product quality on the Shopee Marketplace increases students' purchasing decisions; (2) ease of use has a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions, indicating that greater ease of use enhances students' purchasing decisions; (3) trust positively and significantly affects purchasing decisions, meaning that higher trust in the Shopee Marketplace leads to higher purchasing decisions; (4) product quality positively and significantly influences trust, showing that better product quality increases students' trust; (5) ease of use positively and significantly influences trust, implying that easier use enhances students' trust; (6) trust partially mediates the effect of product quality on purchasing decisions, indicating that higher product quality increases trust, which in turn strengthens purchasing decisions; and (7) trust fully mediates the effect of ease of use on purchasing decisions, suggesting that greater ease of use enhances trust, thereby positively influencing purchasing decisions. These findings highlight the critical role of trust as a mediator between product quality, ease of use, and purchasing decisions in the context of the Shopee Marketplace.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of work motivation and work environment on employee performance, with job satisfaction serving as a mediating variable at PT Kona Bay Indonesia, a global aquaculture breeding enterprise. The research employs a quantitative approach using primary data collected through structured questionnaires distributed to employees. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) through SmartPLS 4 software to test both direct and indirect relationships among variables. The results reveal that work motivation and work environment each have positive and significant effects on job satisfaction and employee performance. Furthermore, job satisfaction has a strong and significant impact on employee performance, acting as a partial mediator between the independent variables and the dependent variable. The mediation test using the Variance Accounted For (VAF) method shows that job satisfaction explains 39.51% of the effect of work motivation on performance and 41.14% of the effect of work environment on performance, confirming partial mediation in both relationships. These findings highlight that motivated employees who operate in a supportive work environment tend to experience higher job satisfaction, which subsequently enhances their productivity and overall performance. The study contributes theoretically by validating the mediating role of job satisfaction and practically by emphasizing the importance of motivational programs and workplace improvements to strengthen employee engagement and performance.
