Abstract

Saat ini ICT banyak digunakan dalam pembelajaran. Beragam software matematika seringkali digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran untuk membantu siswa dalam memahami konsep matematika. Salah satu software yang banyak digunakan dalam pembelajaran adalah GeoGebra. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara dengan ketua MGMP Matematika SMA Kabupaten Trenggalek diperoleh informasi bahwa sebagian besar guru matematika SMA di Kabupaten Trenggalek belum banyak memanfaatkan GeoGebra dalam pembelajaran. Hal tersebut menjadikan alasan dilaksanakannya pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PkM) ini. Kegiatan PkM ini bertujuan untuk memberikan dasar pembuatan media pembelajaran matematika menggunakan software GeoGebra. Kegiatan ini dilakukan dalam tiga tahap: (1) analisis kebutuhan, (2) pelaksanaan workshop secara tatap muka, dan (3) pendampingan pembuatan media pembelajaran matematika menggunakan GeoGebra secara online. Materi workshop yang disampaikan meliputi: (1) instalasi software GeoGebra, (2) mengenal area kerja GeoGebra, (3) tools pada GeoGebra, (4) membuat objek menggunakan GeoGebra, (5) pengenalan slider, dan (6) dasar animasi pada GeoGebra. Hasil dari pelaksanaan PkM ini adalah: (1) guru matematika SMA Kabupaten Trenggalek mengenal software GeoGebra dan dapat melakukan instalasi GeoGebra, (2) guru matematika SMA Kabupaten Trenggalek dapat menggunakan GeoGebra, dan (3) guru matematika SMA Kabupaten Trenggalek dapat membuat media pembelajaran matematika menggunakan GeoGebra.

Abstract

Hidroponik adalah salah satu cara bercocok tanam yang inovatif untuk diterapkan masyarakat di masa sekarang. Proses penerapan hidroponik dilakukan dengan sangat sederhana dan tidak memerlukan banyak tempat. Selain itu, banyak keuntungan yang bisa didapatkan melalui bercocok tanam hidroponik. Di masa pandemi covid-19 ini, banyak masyarakat yang bekerja dari rumah sehingga banyak waktu luang yang dimiliki. Oleh sebab itu, dilakukan kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat yaitu Pelatihan Workshop Hidroponik untuk masyarakat Desa Kasri Kabupaten Malang. Adanya pelatihan ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan produktifitas msayarakat Kasri di masa pandemic Covid-19. Tema yang diusung adalah berhidroponik dengan memanfaatkan barang-barang bekas yang mudah ditemui di sekitar tempat tinggal seperti penggunaan botol plastik dan kain flannel bekas. Pelatihan workshop yang dilakukan tidak hanya  penyampaian materi saja, tetapi juga melakukan praktik hidroponik secara langsung dengan menggunakan teknik wick system. Proses praktik yang dilakukan mulai dari penyemaian hingga pembibitan. Kegiatan ini berhasil dilakukan diukur dari fakta peserta yang bergabung mampu membuat hidroponik dengan bahan dasar barang bekas. Adapun tindakan lanjutan dari program ini adalah menjadikan hidroponik sebagai komersil bisnis baru bagi masayarakat Kasri sehingga bisa meningkatkan perekonomian mereka. Abstract: Hydroponics is one of the innovative farming methods that society applies today. The process of applying hydroponics is very simple and does not require a lot of space. In addition, there are many benefits that can be obtained through hydroponic cultivation. During the Covid-19 pandemic, many people work from home so they have a lot of free time. Therefore, Community Service activities were carried out, namely Hydroponic Workshop Training for the people of Kasri Village, Malang Regency. This training is expected to increase the productivity of the Kasri community during the Covid-19 pandemic. The theme carried is hydroponic by utilizing used items that are easily found around the residence, such as the use of used plastic bottles and flannels. Workshop training is carried out not only in delivering material, but also conducting direct hydroponic practice using the wick system technique. The practical process is carried out from seeding to seeding. This activity was successfully carried out as measured by the fact that the participants who joined were able to make hydroponics using used materials as basic materials. The follow-up action of this program is to make hydroponics a new commercial business for the Kasri community so that they can improve their economy.

Abstract

Evaluation of the argumentation structure is needed to check the quality of student argumentation to produce appropriate problem-solving. Such evaluation can be carried out by identifying the constituent components of the argument. This study aims to describe the structure of student argumentation in solving statistical problems based on the Adversity Quotient (AQ). This qualitative descriptive type of research involved 52 students who were taking statistical methods courses. Participants were classified into three Categories of Adversity Quotient based on the results of the ARP (Adversity Response Profile) questionnaire. Data were obtained using statistical problem tests and interviews. The results showed that students with the AQ Climber category were able to meet all the constituent components of argumentation when solving statistical problems. AQ Camper-type students are only able to meet three components, namely claims, evidence, and reasoning. Meanwhile, students with the AQ Quitter type are only able to fulfill one component, namely claims. Based on the results of the study, the level of Adversity Quotient determines the quality of the student's argumentation structure when solving statistical problems.

Abstract

Abstract: Sidoarjo is one of the districts located in East Java that has developed rapidly. The remarkable progress can be achieved due to several potentials had by its people, for instance, industries, trades, small and medium businesses. Therefore, this research aims to find out the information regarding dominating factors had by the Sidoarjo using data mining. The result shows that Keboansikep, Sawotratap, Tebel, Keboananom, Gedangan, Keboguyang, Ketajen, Sidomulyo, Terik, Ponokawan, Sedengan Mijen, and Barengkrajan villages are the most potential villages in Sidoarjo. Based on the classification method, it is found that the villages of Keboansikep, Sawotratap, Tebel, Keboananom, Gedangan, and Ketajen (Gedangan District) have local potential in the form of agricultural factors such as rice and secondary crops. All residences in Keboguyang Village (Jabon District) already have an IMB. Meanwhile, the villages of Sidomulyo, Terik, Ponokawan, Sedengan Mijen, and Barengkrajan (Krian District) have high early childhood education factors such as kindergarten students, kindergarten teachers, and kindergarten schools Keywords: Data Mining, Local Potential, Biplot analysis

Abstract

Reflective thinking begins with repeated confusion and evaluation to solve a problem. There are four aspects to reflective thinking, namely techniques, monitoring, insight, and conceptualization. However, the problem-solvers’ reflective thinking characteristics in mathematical problems have not been discovered. The study describes the reflective thinking characteristics of proficient mathematics prospective teachers based on four aspects. The qualitative research was conducted at Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta with a total of 64 reflective thinkers. Data collected by test, observation sheets, and interview methods. The tests were administered twice. The instruments developed has been through the validation process and declared valid. Data analyzed through the stages of reduction, presentation, and verification. We successfully conclude that proficient mathematics prospective teachers have complete and consistent reflective thinking characteristics. Further research can be focused on the characteristics of reflective thinking based on another aspect.

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to describe the students' mathematical connection process in solving quadrilateral problems. The approach used is a descriptive explorative qualitative approach. This research was carried out in class VIII of SMP 5 Malang. The instrument used in this study was a test and interview protocol. Students selected as research subjects are students who indicate a mathematical connection process that includes guessing, interpreting, calculating, interpreting, and generalizing. The results of the study indicate that connections made by students can be categorized as developing connections. This is because students are able to reason logically in developing new connections through the same problems with the context of the problem given.Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan proses koneksi matematis siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah segiempat. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif berjenis deskriptif-eksploratif. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di kelas VIII SMPN 5 Malang. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa tes  dan protokol wawancara. Siswa yang dipilih menjadi subjek penelitian adalah siswa yang mengindikasi proses koneksi matematis yang meliputi menduga, menafsirkan, menghitung, menafsirkan, dan menngeneralisasikan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa koneksi yang dibuat oleh siswa dapat dikategorikan sebagai koneksi berkembang. Hal ini dikarenakan siswa mampu bernalar secara logis dalam mengembangkan koneksi baru melalui masalah yang sama dengan konteks masalah yang diberikan.

Abstract

Abstract: The aim of this study is to describe the recursive and explicit strategies of algebraic generalization used by 11st grade students based on their cognitive styles and used descriptive qualitative methodology. The subject consisted of 3 field dependent and 3 field independent students. Given 2 tasks to determine the strategies used by students. The problem given are related to near and far generalization. The recursive strategy requires the subject to know the relationship of each term to determine the pattern, whereas the explicit strategy allows the subject to use various rules accordingly. The results show that FD and FI subject use recursive strategy for near generalization problem. But for far generalization problem, FD use recursive and FI use explisit strategy. The findings of this study is there was one subjecf of FI that use recursive strategy for far generalization problem.Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan strategi rekursif dan eksplisit generalisasi aljabar siswa kelas XI yang ditinjau dari gaya kognitif dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Subjek penelitian adalah masing-masing tiga siswa field dependent(FD) dan field independent(FI). Diberikan dua masalah untuk mengetahui strategi yang digunakan oleh siswa. Masalah yang diberikuan berkaitan dengan generalisasi sederhana dan rumit. Strategi rekursif mengharuskan subjek untuk mengetahui hubungan tiap suku untuk menentukan pola, sedangkan strategi eksplisit memungkinkan subjek untuk menggunakan berbagai aturan yang sesuai. Hasil penelitian adalah subjek FD dan FI menggunakan strategi rekursif untuk generalisasi sederhana, sedangkan generalisasi rumit subjek FD menggunakan strategi rekursif. Namun subjek FI menggunakan strategi eksplisit. Temuan dalam penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ada 1 subjek FI yang menggunakan strategi rekursif untuk menyelesaikan generalisasi rumit.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aimed to describe the relational thinking of male and female visual students in solving mathematical problems. The method used is descriptive analysis. Subjects in this study were 1 male student and 1 female student who had visual learning style. The instruments consists a learning style questionnaires, test questions and interview guidelines. The results showed that visual male students who were able to see equal to (=) as relation symbol, could focus on the expression structure and could provide rationality the problem solving strategy. However, male visual students have not been able to focus on structure because students make computational errors. Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan berpikir relasional siswa visual laki-laki dan perempuan dalam menyelesaikan masalah matematika. Metode yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif. Subjek pada penelitian ini adalah satu siswa laki-laki dan satu siswa perempuan yang memilki gaya belajar visual. Instrumen berupa angket gaya belajar, soal tes, dan pedoman wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan siswa visual laki-laki maupun perempuan mampu melihat tanda sama dengan (=) sebagai simbol relasi, dapat fokus pada struktur ekspresi dan dapat memberikan rasionalitas penggunaan strategi penyelesaian masalah. Namun, siswa visual laki-laki belum mampu fokus pada struktur ekspresi karena siswa melakukan kesalahan komputasi.

Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to the mathematical communication of students who experience folding back when solving mathematical problems. The eight grade students of SMP Islam Syabilurrosyad Malang have participated here. Student with high communication going through folding back effectively and clearly following logic reasoning. Student with high communication could write folding back result rightly and consecutively. Student with medium communication going through folding back after intervention. Student with medium communication have communicated folding back result clearly and consecutively but still there were mistakes in the last solution.Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan komunikasi matematis siswa yang mengalami folding back ketika menyelesaikan masalah matematika. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di kelas VIII SMP Islam Syabilurrosyad kota Malang. Siswa dengan kemampuan tinggi mengomunikasikan folding backnya dengan efektif dan jelas disertai alasan logis. Subjek berkemampuan tinggi juga menuliskan respons hasil folding back nya dengan benar dan terurut. Subjek berkemampuan sedang mengalami folding back setelah adanya intervensi. Subjek mengomunikasikan hasil folding back dengan jelas dan terurut, namun masih terdapat kesalahan pada solusi akhir jawabannya.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to describe the creative thinking process of junior high school students in submitting mathematical problems in the concept of flat wake in terms of high, medium, and low mathematical abilities based on Wallas' steps, namely preparation, incubation, illumination and verification. The research data was obtained through problem submission tests and interviews. The process of creative thinking in teaching problems, namely 1) the preparation stage, students try to understand the problem given. 2) Incubation, students stop for a moment, need time to think to arrive at the solution to a problem. At this stage ideas are built. 3) Illumination, students apply ideas found to solve problems. 4) Verification, students re-check the solution to the problem.Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan proses berpikir kreatif siswa SMP dalam pengajuan masalah matematika konsep bangun datar ditinjau dari kemampuan matematika tinggi, sedang, rendah berdasarkan langkah Wallas, yaitu persiapan, inkubasi, iluminasi dan verifikasi. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui tes pengajuan masalah dan wawancara. Proses berpikir kreatif dalam pengajan masalah, yaitu 1) tahap persiapan, siswa berusaha untuk memahami masalah yang diberikan. 2) Inkubasi, siswa berhenti sejenak, membutuhkan waktu untuk berpikir agar sampai pada solusi suatu permasalahan. Pada tahap ini ide-ide dibangun. 3)  Iluminasi, siswa mengaplikasikan ide yang ditemukan untuk menyelesaikan masalah. 4) Verifikasi, siswa melakukan pengecekan kembali terhadap solusi dari permasalahan.
