Abstract

Kondisi pasien yang menjalani hemodialisa akan mempengaruhi pemenuhan aktivitas sehari-hari. Intervensi yang dapat mengatasi masalah ini melalui edukasi perawatan diri, yaitu suatu proses interaksi antara petugas kesehatan (perawat) dengan pasien untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pasien melakukan perawatan dirinya. Jenis penulisan ini adalah quasi eksperimental dengan desain nonequvalent pre-post test with control group. Sampel penulisan yaitu pasien hemodialisa yang mengalami gangguan aktivitas sehari-hari, terdiri dari 28 orang masing-masing kelompok dengan tekhnik aksidental sampling. Aktivitas sehari-hari manajemen nutrisi dan cairan, mobilisasi/pergerakan, aktivitas rumah, istirahat tidur dan tanggung jawab terhadap pengobatan sebelum dan sesudah edukasi intervensi pada kelompok intervensi dianalisis dengan Wilcoxon signed ranks test dengan nilai(p<0.05), pada kelompok kontrol dianalisa dengan uji Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test dengan nilai (p>0.05). Aktivitas sehari-hari sesudah edukasi perawatan diri pada kelompok intervensi dan kontrol dianalisis dengan Mann-Whitney test dengan nilai (p<0.05). Penulisan ini menunjukkan ada pengaruh edukasi perawatan diri terhadap aktivitas sehari-hari responden. Edukasi perawatan diri dapat meningkatkan kemampuan perawatan diri sehari-hari pasien hemodialisa jika dilakukan secara berkelanjutan dengan waktu minimal 1 bulan dengan cara diingatkan kembali setiap minggu dan dievaluasi diminggu keempat. Edukasi ini dapat menjadi masukan kepada pelayanan kesehatan khususnya keperawatan untuk selalu memberikan edukasi perawatan diri kepada pasien yang menjalani hemodialisa secara terus-menerus

Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a chronic disease characterized by blood glucose levels exceeding normal and impaired carbohydrate, fat and protein metabolism caused by relative and absolute lack of the hormone insulin. If this is left uncontrolled it can become an acute metabolic complication as well as a long-term vascular complication of both microangiopathy and macroangiopathy (Darmono in Hasdianah, 2012). Method: This study aims to determine the relationship between diabetes self-management and the level of stress undergoing a diet of DM sufferers at the Rantau Prapat Health Center. This study used a cross sectional design. Respondents were selected from five Puskesmas in Puskesmas Rantau Prapat using the purposive sampling method. A total of 37 DM sufferers participated in the study. Data were collected using DM knowledge questionnaire, then data were analyzed using Chi Square test with significance level <0.05. Results: The results showed that and there was a relationship between knowledge of diabetes mellitus patients with DM diet adherence (p = 0.017), which Conclusion: There was a relationship between diabetes self-management and the level of stress undergoing a diet of diabetics in Puskesmas Rantau Prapat. Future research is expected to use respondents with a wider area and use better measuring instruments.

Abstract

Compliance is a patient’s behavior with diet rule which is in accordance with the suggestion of health team. The objective of the research was to find out the compliance of diabetes mellitus patients with following diet control at Hospital IPI, Medan, by using descriptive research design. The samples were 105 respondents, taken by using non-probability sampling technique. The research was conducting in internal disease Polyclinic of Hospital IPI Medan. Based on respondents’ characteristics, it was found that 62 respondents (58.1%) were females, 61.9% of the respondents were 51-60 years old, 39 respondents (37.1%) were Elementary School graduates, 66 respondents (62.9%) suffered from diabetes mellitus type 2, 47 respondents (44.8%) had ideal weight, 52 respondents (49.5%) had suffered from diabetes mellitus for 6 to 10 years, 32 respondents (30.5,5%) suffered Diabetes mellitus plus hypertension. The result of questionnaire about compliance of diabetes mellitus patients with diet rule, it was found that of 100 respondents, 58 of them (55.2%) did not comply. It is recommended that health care providers make a strategy of discipline in controlling diabetes mellitus, especially about diet control in diabetes mellitus. The patients should comply with suggested diet control in order to prevent from complication and the next researchers should do the research on the factors which influence the compliance of diabetes mellitus patients with diet control.

Abstract

Stroke is one of the leading causes of death and third cause of disability in the world. Someone who has a stroke will have limitations in carrying out daily activities or Activity Of Daily Living (ADL) and support from family both in physical, psychological and emotional forms is needed by stroke patients The purpose of this study was to determine family support for the level of ability to carry out daily activities in stroke patients at Imelda Pekerja Indonesia General Hospital. This type of research is quantitative research with correlational methods and Cross Sectional approach design. This research was conducted in July-August 2023 at the Imelda Hemodialysis Room of Imelda Pekerja Indonesia General Hospital. This study used NonProbability sampling technique using purposive sampling method, so that the total research sample was 30 respondents. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire. Data analysis using univariate and bivariate analysis with statistical tests (Chi Square Test) in the SPSS application. The results of the study showed the results of the Chi-Square statistical test with a significant value (p) value of 0.01 or p< 0.05. The conclusion in this study is that there is family support for the level of ability to carry out daily activities in stroke patients at Imelda Pekerja Indonesia General Hospital in 2023.
