Abstract

Reassessing the structural integrity of reinforced concrete buildings after a fire is crucial to ensure the continued operation of healthcare facilities. This study evaluates the structural performance of a multi-story hospital building that sustained significant fire damage by integrating non-destructive testing using a rebound hammer and finite element modeling in ETABS. The test results indicated substantial variations in residual concrete strength across structural elements: the average strengths of columns and beams were 25.95 MPa and 22.51 MPa, respectively, while floor slabs showed drastic reductions on fire-affected levels, ranging from 11.82 MPa to 51.42 MPa on unaffected floors. Structural modeling with these degraded material properties demonstrated that column stresses remained within acceptable limits, whereas 69% of the second-floor slabs and several beams on upper floors exceeded permissible stress thresholds. Consequently, the rehabilitation strategy prioritizes strengthening the floor slabs and enhancing beam capacity, while column replacement is not required. This approach enables cost- and time-efficient recovery without compromising structural safety.

Abstract

This research investigates how internship experience and work information mastery influence vocational students’ work readiness, with work motivation acting as a mediating factor. The research population comprises all twelfth-grade students majoring in Mechanical Engineering at a Vocational High School in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, totaling 310 individuals. The maximum sample of 170 students was determined using Issac & Michael’s formula. The sample was selected through purposive sampling techniques, and data were collected using questionnaires, tests, and documentation. Descriptive statistical analysis was employed to summarize the characteristics of each variable, while hypothesis testing was conducted using path analysis in an ex-post facto research design. The results indicate that the proposed research model satisfies both validity and reliability tests, thus validating the suitability of the model. The findings reveal: (1) a significant indirect effect between internship experience and work readiness mediated by work motivation (t = 3.787, sig. 0.000), and (2) a significant indirect effect of work information mastery and work readiness through work motivation (t = 2.907, sig. 0.003). The results of the study indicate that internship experience and mastery of information through work motivation influence students' job readiness. The implication of this research is that schools need to increase collaboration with industry and strengthen the role of teachers, parents, and the Community Empowerment Agency (CEA) in providing information and guidance about the world of work, so that vocational high school graduates are better prepared and more easily accepted into the workforce.

Abstract

Devotion to the community through a real work lecture (KKN) is one form of student contribution to overcoming the problems in the community. This study aims to examine the role of KKN in building sensitive souls (productive, educative, cooperative, adaptive) in Pik Pub Pub Rusun. The method used in this study is observation. KKN students participated in socialization activities, training of artwork, BTQ, healthy gymnastics, numerated literacy, seminars on early marriage and Islamic banking, futsal tournament, fun game (traditional game), Islamic competition (Azan, MHQ, Islamic puzzle, and coloring calligraphy), and badminton. The results showed that through KKN, KKN students can take advantage of the potential received during college by applying it in the community, so that it can ducto in and help resolve the problems that exist in the community, through students to get speech and participation from the very good community of programs implemented, and through KKN community can increase productive, educative, cooperative, and adaptive.

Abstract
