Abstract

A very important element of railway is the rail bearing, different types of rail bearings that we know in Indonesia are wooden rail bearings, concrete rail bearings. In this study, the stress behavior that occurs in the two types of railway bearings due to the load and the occurring temperature effect is to be checked. It was found that the stress occurring in bearings with different materials, namely concrete and wood, when the The nominal stress can be seen on the concrete bearing is 11.87 N/mm2, on the wooden material the bearing load is 10.41 N/mm2. As for the temperature effect, it looks similar to the temperature of 80 °C for each material, but it can be seen that the temperature effect spreads from the surface due to the friction between the railroad tracks and the railroad wheels.

Abstract

Light Rail Transit (LRT Jabodebek) is a light rail train that serves 2 operational crossings, namely cibubur Line and Bekasi Line. The problem that occurs in Jabodebek LRT is abnormal wheel flange wear. This problem will have an impact on the wheel life to be shorter. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the cross that has the most influence on the wear rate of the Jabodebek LRT wheel flange and find out when turning will be carried out. The flange measurement data obtained from daily and monthly maintenance data will be analyzed using the simple linear regression method. The value of flange wear caused by Lintas Harjamukti-Dukuh Atas of 0.00285 mm in one trip is greater than Lintas Jatimulya-Dukuh Atas of 0.001295 mm. While trainset 1 will be turned after traveling 117,962 km or 3944 trips, trainset 2 will be turned after traveling 74,061 or 2424 trips, trainset 13 will be turned after traveling 237,295 km or 7908 trips, trainset 18 will be turned after traveling 85,911 km or 2707 trips. Therefore, the Harjamukti-Dukuh Atas section has a greater influence on the wear that occurs compared to the Jatimulya-Dukuh Atas section.

Abstract

Blends of biodiesel, like B35, are becoming more and more popular as the demand for cleaner energy sources grows. There are a number of difficulties with using biodiesel, particularly with respect to diesel engine fuel filtration systems. The purpose of this study is to determine the fuel filter's level of contamination at particular mileage intervals, assess how well the filter works with biodiesel blends, and calculate the fuel filter's lifespan when using B35 biodiesel. The authors have conducted an experimental study involving a testing apparatus to measure the flow rate at the filter. Real-time data on fuel flow rate and filter cloggi ng rate will be collected and analyzed to determine the impact of filter efficiency on fuel changes. The experimental data will be compared and contrasted to draw meaningful conclusions about the correlation between filter clogging and fuel flow rate. The data shows that the CC201 filter experiences less contamination compared to the CC203 filter. These results suggest that the CC201 maintains better performance at the distances tested. Filter quality was estimated based on the remaining flow rate capacity, showing a direct correlation between mileage and filter deterioration. Firstly, it was found that the level of contamination experienced by the CC201 fuel filter was superior to that of the CC203 filter. Secondly, the relationship between fuel filter life and locomotive mileage is illustrated by a scatter plot graph showing a decreasing trend line. Thirdly, from the use of B35 fuel, the performance of the fuel filter decreased at a percentage of 10% and 13% on each locomotive.
