Abstract

In the era of globalization, national identity poses a unique challenge, particularly for Indonesian diaspora children living far from their homeland. The children at Sanggar Bimbingan Sungai Mulia 5 (SB SM 5) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, are mostly migrant children growing up in environments with minimal exposure to Indonesian culture. This condition risks weakening their emotional connection to national identity and the cultural heritage of Nusantara. This international community service program aims to enhance the national awareness of children aged 10–14 years at SB SM 5 by introducing the cultural heritage of Borobudur Temple as a symbol of national civilization and traditional Javanese games such as cublak-cublak suweng. The methods used include participatory approaches, edutainment, and experiential learning, designed to create an interactive and enjoyable learning experience. The children participated in activities such as visual presentations, storytelling, hands-on traditional games, and reflections on national values. The results demonstrated an increase in knowledge about Borobudur from 10% to 90% and a high level of enthusiasm for traditional games. The children not only gained an understanding of Indonesian culture but also felt a sense of pride and emotional closeness to their homeland. As a follow-up, plans include the development of digital modules, regular cultural classes, and collaboration with diaspora communities to ensure the sustainability of this program. This initiative successfully established an emotional connection between diaspora children and Indonesia's cultural identity, making it a model applicable to other diaspora communities

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the implications of using LCD learning media in Islamic Religious Education subjects at SD Negeri 1 Simbang for the 2023/2024 academic year. This field research is the result of descriptive qualitative research by collecting data from questionnaires, observations, interviews and documentation to then be analyzed qualitatively through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and verification/conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that the use of LCD learning media in Islamic Religious Education subjects at Simbang 1 Public Elementary School has implications for increasing student interest in the material and they are more enthusiastic in participating in the learning process. Limitations are seen in the aspects of writing and student memory, in addition to the availability of LCDs that are not adequate for the number of classes, which are focuses that must be considered by the school in the future. These findings recommend that LCD media can be used for Islamic Religious Education learning at the elementary school level.

Abstract

At the Nurul Falah Berbaur Islamic Boarding School, the deliberation (Syawir) method is routinely applied in the study of yellow books. This activity involves students being divided into groups to discuss specific themes or chapters, with debate sessions deepening understanding of the material. This study used a qualitative approach to evaluate the impact of the Syawir method, which has been shown to improve students' cognitive, affective, and psychomotor abilities, as well as strengthen the social and institutional aspects of the Islamic boarding school. This method also enriches the learning experience, improves the quality of learning, and strengthens social solidarity, making it essential for both personal and institutional development in the Islamic boarding school.

Abstract

The development of digital media has changed the pattern of Islamic da'wah from a conventional approach to a digital discourse that is multimodal and dialogical. However, the practice of digital da'wah is still often dominated by emotional narratives with minimal rational argumentation. This condition raises the need for a study that highlights how Islamic rationality is constructed in the digital da'wah space. This study uses a qualitative method with Norman Fairclough's Critical Discourse Analysis (AWK) approach which includes three dimensions of analysis, namely text, discourse practice, and socio-cultural practice. Primary data is in the form of YouTube Escape Episode 13 content entitled "Thoughts Are More Important! Don't Be Fooled by Feelings" which was hosted by Raymond Chin with the resource person Felix Siauw. Secondary data were obtained from scientific literature relevant to Islamic studies, rationality, and digital da'wah. The results of the study show that the discourse built in the content places reason as the main foundation in decision-making, while feelings are positioned as a supporting aspect that remains important but not dominant. The discursive strategy used combines Islamic postulates, philosophical references, and contemporary social examples to build rational legitimacy in the delivery of da'wah messages. This study emphasizes that digital da'wah has the potential to be a medium of rational Islamic construction that is able to answer the challenges of digital society. Through a discursive approach that balances reason and feeling, da'wah in the digital space not only functions as a means of disseminating teachings, but also as a space for the formation of a reflective and contextual Islamic way of thinking. Perkembangan media digital telah mengubah pola dakwah Islam dari pendekatan konvensional menuju wacana digital yang bersifat multimodal dan dialogis. Namun, praktik dakwah digital masih kerap didominasi oleh narasi emosional yang minim argumentasi rasional. Kondisi ini menimbulkan kebutuhan akan kajian yang menyoroti bagaimana rasionalitas Islam dikonstruksi dalam ruang dakwah digital. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan Analisis Wacana Kritis (AWK) Norman Fairclough yang mencakup tiga dimensi analisis, yaitu teks, praktik wacana, dan praktik sosial-budaya. Data primer berupa konten YouTube Escape Episode 13 berjudul “Pikiran Lebih Penting! Jangan Dibodohin Perasaan” yang dipandu oleh Raymond Chin dengan narasumber Felix Siauw. Data sekunder diperoleh dari literatur ilmiah yang relevan dengan kajian Islam, rasionalitas, dan dakwah digital. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa wacana yang dibangun dalam konten tersebut menempatkan akal sebagai fondasi utama dalam pengambilan keputusan, sementara perasaan diposisikan sebagai aspek pendukung yang tetap penting namun tidak dominan. Strategi diskursif yang digunakan mengombinasikan dalil keislaman, rujukan filosofis, serta contoh sosial kontemporer untuk membangun legitimasi rasional dalam penyampaian pesan dakwah. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa dakwah digital berpotensi menjadi medium konstruksi Islam rasional yang mampu menjawab tantangan masyarakat digital. Melalui pendekatan diskursif yang menyeimbangkan akal dan perasaan, dakwah di ruang digital tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai sarana penyebaran ajaran, tetapi juga sebagai ruang pembentukan cara berpikir Islam yang reflektif dan kontekstual.
