Abstract

The addition of asynchronous learning hours in e-learning can cause students to have to understand large amounts of material. So that it can be a cognitive burden for students. The purpose of this study was to describe the cognitive load of students during online learning in the subject of vertebrate diversity and classification, especially on the structure of Pisces and amphibians. The research method used in this study was quantitative descriptive by examining the ability to receive and process information, mental effort and the learning outcomes of 46 students of the Biology Education Study Program at Pakuan University. The instrument used in the study was to measure the ability to receive and process information through a test in the form of a task complexity worsheet. Mental effort was measured through a questionnaire (Likert scale) with a range of 1-5. Learning outcomes were measured in the form of an essay test. The results obtained that the learning activities carried out have the characteristics of a high cognitive load component. The high cognitive load obtained by students is seen from the high mental effort and the high intrinsic load possessed by students, so that it has an impact on the learning outcomes obtained.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model in enhancing university students’ ability to solve environmental pollution problems, with mathematical literacy as a moderating variable. Conducted in Indonesia, the research adopted a quasi-experimental non-equivalent pretest-posttest control group design involving 64 biology education students from Universitas Pakuan. Participants were assessed using open-ended problem-solving tests and a rubric aligned with the PISA framework. Results from two-way ANOVA showed significant effects of the learning model (F(1, 58) = 32.84, p < .001, η² = .216) and mathematical literacy levels (F(2, 58) = 29.17, p < .001, η² = .201) on problem-solving performance. Although both groups improved by 18.75 points from the pretest to the post-test, the PBL group outperformed the control. Post hoc analysis (Tukey HSD) revealed that students with high mathematical literacy achieved the highest scores (M = 91.8, SD = 3.7), confirming its moderating effect. These findings underscore the value of integrating mathematical literacy into PBL to promote contextual learning and real-world problem-solving. Future studies should explore broader samples and longitudinal impacts across diverse educational contexts.

Abstract

This article examines the impact of the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) approach on the academic performance of fourth-grade students at SDN Lawanggintung 2. This study is quantitative with a pre-experimental design, using purposive random sampling and a one-group pretest-posttest method. The subjects of this study were fourth-grade students at SDN Lawanggintung 2. The study results showed that the TaRL approach was proven effective in improving the learning outcomes of fourth-grade students of SDN Lawanggintung 2. The research instrument used was the students' pretest and posttest scores in Indonesian, which functioned as a measure of learning outcomes. The pretest results showed an average score of 56.25. After the TaRL approach was applied as a treatment, the post-test results showed an increase in the average score of 78.25. This increase was supported by the significance values ​​of the pretest and posttest, which were <0.05. Furthermore, the N-Gain value 1.61 was included in the high category (g ≥ 0.70), indicating an effective increase. The results suggest that implementing the TaRL approach can notably enhance students' learning achievements in Indonesian language classes.

Abstract

Program Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru di SDN Julang, Kota Bogor dalam menyusun E-LKPD (Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik Elektronik) berbasis Genially yang interaktif dan adaptif guna mendukung pembelajaran bagi Anak Berkebutuhan Khusus (ABK). Permasalahan yang dihadapi meliputi kurangnya bahan ajar yang menarik dan sesuai kebutuhan ABK serta keterbatasan guru dalam memanfaatkan teknologi pembelajaran. Program ini dilaksanakan melalui pelatihan teoritis, praktik langsung, dan evaluasi dengan pretest-posttest. Hasilnya menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman guru, dengan skor rata-rata pretest 62,5 menjadi 89,3 pada posttest, serta 78% siswa ABK mengalami peningkatan hasil belajar setelah menggunakan E-LKPD. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan E-LKPD berbasis teknologi mampu memperkuat kompetensi guru dan menciptakan pembelajaran yang lebih inklusif, interaktif, dan efektif. Untuk keberlanjutan dampak, disarankan pelatihan lanjutan dan implementasi jangka panjang di sekolah.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan e-modul menggunakan video berbasis Wondershare Filmora materi teks eksplanasi, sehingga layak untuk diuji cobakan dan efektif untuk dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D) dengan model pengembangan ADDIE (analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation). Penelitian ini melibatkan 30 peserta didik dan pada proses validasi serta uji coba e-modul yang telah dikembangkan. Validasi dilakukan oleh tempat validator, yaitu ahli materi, ahli materi guru, ahli bahasa, dan ahli media, dengan hasil validasi ahli materi sebesar 92%, ahli materi guru diperoleh 100%, ahli bahasa mendapatkan 92%, dan ahli media mendapatkan persentase 97% dengan rata- rata hasil 95,25% yang termasuk pada kriteria “Sangat Layak”. Diperkuat dengan hasil responden peserta didik sebesar 100% dan respon guru sebesar 100% termasuk kategori “Sangat Baik”. Demikian pula dengan hasil rata-rata nilai N-Gain sebesar 0.85 dengan kategori “Efektif”. Dari hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa e-modul menggunakan video berbasis Wondershare Filmora yang dikembangkan efektif dan praktis untuk digunakan dalam mengukur pemahaman peserta didik terhadap materi teks eksplanasi. Kata Kunci: E-modul, wondershare filmora, teks eksplanasi.

Abstract

The study of Gastropod diversity in Cibuaya is very important, since Gastropods are the most important organisms in the food chain in aquatic ecosystems. To understand Gastropods, students need electronically supported learning aids in the form of e-booklet. One of the very important roles of e-booklets students can access e-booklets anytime, anywhere on their devices. The aim of this research is to develop a research-based electronic booklet for the identification of gastropod diversity, based on the findings from the identification of gastropods at Cibuaya Beach, Sukabumi. The development method used in this research is the 4-D model, which includes definition, design, development, and dissemination. This research was realized by developing the research results into an electronic brochure on gastropod diversity at Cibuaya Beach, Ujung Genteng, Sukabumi. Validation of the e-booklet was carried out by three Lecturers who were experts in material content, language, and media, and three Biology teachers to validate regarding the content of the material which is adapted to the material at school . The results of the validation test produced an average score of 86%. This score indicates that the E-booklet learning support falls into the very viable category and can be used in learning activities.
