Abstract

This research was motivated by the low interest in learning and the low learning outcomes of students. This is because the learning that is carried out does not follow the students' wishes and ability level, so students are less active and have a low interest in learning science. Learning interests will affect the learning outcomes of students. This class action research aims to improve learning outcomes and students' interest in learning by using differentiated learning using the TaRL approach with the help of the inquiry learning model. TaRL learning is learning by grouping students according to their ability level. This study was conducted at SMPN 49 Surabaya in class 8B. The research data collection method used a questionnaire about students' interest in learning, an observation sheet for the implementation of learning, and a written test to determine students' learning outcomes. The design used in this study was the Tagart and Kemmis cycle model, and the data obtained was analyzed using classical learning completeness. The results showed that differentiated learning using the TaRL approach improved student learning outcomes with a percentage increase of 37% and an increase in the average score of 17.10. In addition, the results showed that students' interest in learning experienced a rise in categories from the initial condition, which had a poor category, to a good category at the end of the cycle. Based on the study's results, it can be concluded that applying differentiated learning using the TaRL approach can improve learning outcomes and student interest in the learning cycle.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk membandingkan efektivitas pembelajaran IPA berbasis Socio-Scientific Issues (SSI) dengan pembelajaran IPA tanpa pendekatan SSI terhadap kemampuan scientific literacy siswa SMP ditinjau dari aspek contexts, competencies, knowledge, dan attidtude pada materi bioteknologi. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan metode kuasi eksperimen (Quasi Eksperimental Design). Sampel penelitian yang digunakan adalah siswa salah satu SMP di Kota Surabaya yang terbagi menjadi 29 siswa di kelas eksperimen dan 32 siswa di kelas kontrol. Data penelitian diperoleh dari tes literasi sains, angket sikap sains dan angket respon siswa. Hasil tes dianalisis menggunakan uji N-Gain, sedangkan angket respon siswa dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil uji N-Gain sebagian besar berkategori sedang dan menunjukkan bahwa peningkatkan kemampuan scientific literacy siswa yang menerima pembelajaran IPA berbasis SSI lebih tinggi daripada siswa yang menerima pembelajaran IPA tanpa pendekatan SSI. Hasil penelitian ini juga didukung dengan data angket respon siswa yang memperoleh respon positif pada kedua kelas, namun respon siswa yang menerima pembelajaran IPA berbasi SSI menunjukkan persentase yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan siswa yang menerima pembelajaran IPA tanpa pendekatan SSI. Berdasarkan uraian di atas, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran IPA berbasis SSI lebih efektif meningkatkan kemampuan scientific literacy siswa dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran IPA tanpa pendekatan SSI. Implikasi dalam penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa untuk meningkatkan kemampuan scientific literacy siswa, guru dapat menerapkan pendekatan SSI materi bioteknologi atau yang memiliki karakteristik setara, seperti ekosistem dan keseimbangannya, interaksi antarorganisme, dan lain sebagainya.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan membandingkan keefektifan keterampilan proses sains menggunakan aplikasi PhET dan aktivitas laboratorium riil pada materi tekanan zat cair. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan Quasi Eksperimental Design dengan desain pretest-posttest control group design dengan sasaran penelitian yaitu siswa kelas 8I berjumlah 32 orang sebagai kelas eksperimen dan siswa kelas 8H berjumlah 31 orang sebagai kelas kontrol di salah satu SMP Kota Surabaya. Data diperoleh dengan metode tes dan angket yang kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitif. Aspek keterampilan proses sains yang diteliti pada peneliatian ini yaitu observasi, inferensi, pengukuran, mengkomunikasikan, mengklasifikasi, prediksi, mengontrol variabel, membuat hipotesis, menafsirkan data, dan mengadakan percobaan.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kelas eskperimen yang menggunakan aplikasi PhET lebih efektif dibandingkan dengan kelas kontrol yang menggunakan aktivitas laboratorium riil terbukti dengan hasil effect size sebesar 0,76 dengan kategori besar. Implikasi dalam penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa untuk meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains siswa, guru dapat menggunakan aplikasi PhET sebagai alternatif aktivitas laboratorium riil pada materi tekanan zat cair atau materi-materi lain yang terintegrasi dalam aplikasi PhET, seperti getaran dan gelombang, gerak an gaya, dan lain sebagainya.

Abstract

The inquiry learning model is a model that facilitates the construction of students' scientific knowledge which can also improve students' argumentation skills. According to several research results, inquiry-based learning has proven to be effective in improving scientific argumentation skills because in the learning process students are directed in investigative activities to find scientific evidence as a basis for scientific argumentation. By considering the student learning process, the aim of this research is to describe whether the use of three types of inquiry learning models can teach fluid material and influence the student learning process, one of which is students' argumentation abilities. This research method uses mixed method triangulation. The instruments used were interview questionnaires and argumentation tests. The data obtained was then analyzed using simple statistical tests and N-gain scores. Interview data was analyzed to find out clarification of students' answers. The research results of the inquiry learning model were successful in developing argumentation skills, namely the n-gain score resulted in the use of the structured inquiry learning model gaining 0.88, the guided inquiry learning model 0.84 and the open inquiry learning model 0.74.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the implementation of the Spiritual Practice-Based Learning Approach to Metaphysics Meditation "He Ning Cipto" in the Cell-Level Life course to build the student's immune system during the covid-19 pandemic. This study involved three classes of 2018 class students with a total of 90 people. This quasi-experimental research uses a "one shot case study" as a research design where there is only a treatment class without control.   Data collection methods in this study include observation, tests and surveys in order to obtain data on the implementation of learning, mastery of concepts, meditation skills, and mental health. The results showed that the implementation of the learning carried out had fulfilled the syntax and obtained the dominant learning management assessment score mode of 4 from the total existing meetings. The learning outcomes test from 3 classes with 4 study topics (Cell Structure and Function, Cell Health Concepts, Body Immune System, Cipto Silent Meditation) in 7 meetings showed that students' mastery of concepts could be achieved maximally both individually and classically with a percentage of completeness of 95, 56%. Based on rewriting data and diaries, Cipto's Silent Meditation skills can be practiced well according to the recommended instructions and procedures. Students' rewriting scores ranged from 78 to 100, while for student diaries they received a minimum score of 80 and a maximum of 100. The questionnaire responses given showed high Mental Attitude Health (KSM) results of 96%, High Cell/Body Health (KST) of 86% and the Happiness Scale Index is in the high category (above 34, 4) with A level between 46-50 at 29%, Level B between 40-45 at 66% and C between 34-39 at 6%. Overall, it can be concluded that this research has helped students in learning and gaining an understanding of the concept of cell health and the immune system, as well as developing silent meditation skills, to build a strong immune system for students and actors in achieving a level of mental health and mental attitude. good dohir cells/body, and pure soul happiness is born as a result of a sense of faith, and evidence of obedience and gratitude to Allah SWT for all His blessings, then the practice of meditation has an impact as a form of self-protection from various kinds of diseases including the Covid-19 virus.

Abstract

Rendahnya literasi sains di Indonesia, mendorong perlunya inovasi dalam model pembelajaran. Pembelajaran dengan model clasroom discussion berbasis socio-scientific issues memiliki potensi dalam meningkatkan keterampilan literasi siswa. Namun penerapannya pada materi pemanasan global di tingkat SMP masih jarang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan keterampilan literasi sains siswa setelah diterapkan model pembelajaran classroom discussion berbasis socio-scientific issues. Jenis penelitian adalah pre-experimental dengan one-group pretest-posttest design. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VII SMP. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan yaitu soal pretest dan posttest literasi sains, lembar pengamatan keterlaksanaan pembelajaran, dan angket respon siswa. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu uji N-Gain, uji normalitas, dan uji wilcoxon. Hasil uji N-Gain sebesar 3,7% siswa mendapat kategori rendah, 92,6% mendapat kategori sedang, dan 3,7% siswa mendapat kategori tinggi. Hal ini juga didukung dengan hasil keterlaksanaan pembelajaran dengan nilai modus yang didapatkan sebesar 4 yang termasuk dalam kategori sangat baik. Proses pembelajaran juga mendapatkan respon posistif dari siswa dengan persentase rata-rata tiap indikator sebesar 86%. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan pembelajaran classroom discussion berbasis socio-scientific issues dapat meningkatkan literasi sains siswa. Saran untuk penelitian selanjutnya bisa menambah penilaian dengan menggunakan aspek sikap, aspek pengetahuan, dan aspek konteks dalam melatihkan literasi sains siswa SMP.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and evaluate Interactive Multimedia (IMM) learning media based on Google Sites and supported by Google Classroom to improve learning motivation and learning outcomes of sixth-grade students at SDN Bening, Mojokerto, on Solar System material. The study used a Research and Development approach with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Research subjects involved 3 experts (media, material, and instructional), 1 science teacher, and 22 students. Data collection instruments included validation sheets, response questionnaires, and learning outcome tests (pretest–posttest). Data were analyzed descriptively using percentages and N-Gain scores. The results showed that the developed IMM media was highly valid according to expert judgment (average score of 4.28), highly practical based on teacher (4.40) and student (4.34) responses, and effective in improving student learning outcomes, as indicated by an N-Gain score of 0.54 (moderate category). Student learning motivation increased by 21.32% after implementation. The integration of Google Sites and Google Classroom supports interactive content delivery and digital assessment within a unified learning environment, making the media suitable for teaching abstract science concepts at the elementary level.
