Abstract

This study aims to determine the biological appearance of globe fish that includes size distribution, growth pattern, sex ratio and maturity level of gonad (TKG) in Tanjung Salonggar Melonguane waters of Talaud Islands Regency. Sampling was conducted from May to July 2017. Decapterus macrosoma has found during the study were 268 with total size of 150 - 244 mm and the weight ranged from 34 to 142 grams. Kite fish caught in Tanjung Salonggar has a negative allometric growth type that is the length increase faster than weight gain (b <3). The sex ratio of male fish and female fish is equal to 1: 1, with maturity level of Gonad (TKG) I up to TKG V. The highest gonadal maturity level is found in June and July, both male and female fish, while in May fish which is caught predominantly by an immature fish gonad. Keywords: Biological appearance, Decapterus macrosoma, growth pattern.AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tampilan biologis ikan layang yang meliputi sebaran ukuran, pola pertumbuhan, rasio kelamin dan tingkat kematangan gonad (TKG) di Perairan Tanjung Salonggar Melonguane Kabupaten Kepulauan Talaud. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan pada bulan Mei sampai bulan Juli 2017. Ikan layang Decapterus macrosoma yang diperoleh selama penelitian sebanyak 268 ekor dengan Sebaran ukuran panjang total 150 – 244 mm dan berat berkisar 34 – 142 gram. Ikan layang yang tertangkap di Tanjung Salonggar memiliki tipe pertumbuhan allometrik negatif yaitu pertambahan panjang lebih cepat dari pertambahan berat (b < 3). Rasio kelamin ikan jantan dan ikan betina adalah seimbang  yaitu 1 : 1, dengan Tingkat Kematangan Gonad  (TKG ) I sampai dengan TKG V. Tingkat kematangan gonad tertinggi ditemukan pada bulan Juni dan Juli, baik ikan jantan maupun ikan betina, sementara pada bulan Mei ikan yang tertangkap didominasi oleh ikan yang belum matang gonad.Kata kunci : Tampilan biologis, Decapterus macrosoma, Pola pertumbuhan.

Abstract

This study was conducted in October to November 2016 in the intertidal zone around the field laboratory of UNSRAT in Likupang. It was aimed at knowing the species and the size of trevally (Caranx spp.) migrating to the intertidal zone and their food habit. Fish sampling used a beach seine. The fish collected were 45 individuals consisting of 3 species, 22 individuals of Caranx melampygus, 21 individuals of C. papuensis, and 2 individuals of C. sexfaciatus. Body length varied from 6 to 19.9 cm for C. melampygus, 7 to 15.6 cm for C. papuensis, and 6.9 and 7.6 cm for C. sexfaciatus, respectively. There were 4 food types, shrimps, fish, crabs, and organic matters, such as shrimp’s eye and digested food. The Importance Relative Index of shrimp was the highest, 82%, followed by fish, 14%, and the lowest recorded in crab, 4%. Shrimp is major food sort of C. melampygus. The Importance Relative Index of C. papuensis and C. sexfaciatus could not be counted because of empty stomach and low number of samples. Feeding intensity of C. melampygus was 86% and that of C. papuensis was 10%, so that it was apparent that C. melampygus come to the intertidal for feeding, while C. papuensis come for other purpose.        Keywords: size, food habit, Caranx spp. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Oktober-November 2016 di Daerah Intertidal Sekitar Laboratorium Lapangan UNSRAT Likupang penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui spesies dan ukuran ikan kuwe (Caranx spp) yang bermigrasi di daerah pasang-surut dan kebiasaan makanannya. Pengambilan sampel ikan menggunakan pukat pantai, ikan yang terkumpul yaitu 45 ekor yang terdiri dari 3 spesies yaitu 22 individu Caranx melampygus, 21 individu Caranx papuaensis, dan dua individu Caranx sexfaciatus. Panjang tubuh bervariasi dari 6-19,9 cm Caranx melampygus, 7-15,6 cm Caranx papuaensis untuk Caranx sexfaciatus yaitu 6,9 cm dan 7,6 cm. Terdapat empat jenis makanan yaitu udang, ikan, kepiting dan bahan organik seperti mata udang dan makanan yang sudah tercerna. Indeks Relatif Penting udang yang tertinggi yaitu 82% di ikuti oleh ikan 14% dan terendah ditemukan pada kepiting 4%. Udang merupakan makanan utama dari Caranx melampygus. Indeks Relatif Penting Caranx sexfaciatus dan Caranx papuaensis tidak dapat dihitung karena isi lambung kosong dan jumlah sampel sedikit. Intensitas makan (IM) Caranx melampygus adalah 86% dan  Caranx papuaensis 10% sehingga jelas bahwa Caranx melampygus dating ke daerah Intertidal untuk mencari makanan sedangkan Caranx papuaensis datang ke daerah Intertidal untuk tujuan lain.Kata Kunci: Ukuran, Kebiasaan Makanan, Caranx spp,

Abstract

Enzymes are important in the technology industry and hydrolytic enzymes, such as chitinase and protease are commonly used for it. Various types of microorganisms such as bacteria can produce hydrolytic enzymes.  Sponge-associated bacteria are excellent sources of extracellular hydrolytic enzymes because the surface and internal spaces of sponges are richer in nutrients. The aim of this study was to isolate and screen the bacteria of the sponge Dragmacidon sp symbiotic from Manado Bay, North Sulawesi that producing chitinase and protease   Symbiont bacteria were grown in Zobell 1226 E medium with a dilution of 10-4. Bacterial isolation was carried out based on the morphological characteristics of the colony. Chitinase and protease activity was carried out by growing each bacterial isolate in chitin and protein media at 36oC for 48 hours. Chitinase and protease activities were indicated by the formation of a clear zone around the bacterial colony, however, the clear zone for chitinase activity was observed after pouring the Lugol's solution. Based on this study, 8 isolates bacteria of the symbiotic spongy Dragmacidon sp from Manado Bay, North Sulawesi were isolated based on morphological characteristics. The colony of the bacteria is generally white with an irregular shape. Four isolates, namely 1, 2, 3, and 8 had chitinase activity with chitinolytic indexes were 1.7; 1.5; 1.4, and 1.3, respectively. Six isolates, namely 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 had protease activity with proteolytic indexes were 1.4; 1.8; 3.1; 1.3; 1.8; and 2.5, respectively.Keywords: Bacteria; Chitinolytic; Proteolytic; Symbiont; SpongeAbstrakEnzim menempati posisi penting dalam bidang teknologi dan industri. Enzim yang banyak digunakan dalam bidang industri adalah enzim hidrolase. Enzim dapat diisolasi dari berbagai jenis mikroorganisme seperti bakteri. Bakteri yang berasosiasi dengan spons merupakan sumber enzim hidrolitik ekstraseluler yang sangat baik karena permukaan dan ruang internal spons lebih kaya nutrisi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengisolasi dan menguji aktivitas kitinase dan protease bakteri simbion spons Dragmacidon sp dari Teluk Manado. Bakteri simbion spons ditumbuhkan dalam media Zobell 1226 E pada pengenceran 10-4. Isolasi bakteri dilaksanakan berdasakan karakteristik morfologi. Aktivitas kitinase dan protease dilaksanakan dengan menumbuhkan setiap isolat bakteri dalam media kitin dan protein pada suhu 36oC selama 48 jam. Aktivitas kitinase dan protease ditandai dengan terbentuknya zona bening di sekitar koloni bakteri yang mana untuk kitinase diamati setelah diberi larutan lugol. Berdasarkan penelitian ini, 8 isolat bakeri simbion spon Dragmacidon sp dari Teluk Manado, Sulawesi Utara berhasil diisolasi berdasarkan karakteristik morfologi. Isolat bakteri umumnya berwarna putih dengan bentuk ireguller. Empat isolat yakni 1, 2, 3, dan 8 memiliki aktivitas kitinase dan enam isolat yakni 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, dan 6 yang memiliki aktivitas protease. Indeks kitinolitik dari masing-masing keempat isolat bakteri secara berturut turut adalah 1,7; 1,5; 1,4; dan 1,3 dengan kategori bernilai rendah dan indeks proteolitik adalah 1,4; 1,8; 3,1; 1,3; 1,8; dan 2,5 dengan kategori bernilai rendah sampai tinggi.Kata kunci: Bakteri; Kitinolitik; Proteolitik; Simbion; Spons

Abstract

This study aims to determine the length-weight relationship, growth patterns, and gonadal index of juvenile bluestripe snapper Lutjanus kasmira. Samples were collected using a hand line with a hook numbered  3 and a monofilament fishing line numbered 80. Sampling activities were carried out on July 26th – August 4th, August 26th - September 4th, and October 10th, 2020. A total of 70 fish, 22 females and 48 males was caught. Female length distribution ranged from 104 to 150 mm with a weight range of 18.19-55.87 g, while male length ranged from 107 to 150 mm in length with a weight of 19.00-57.00 g. The length-weight relationship was indicated with W= 0.0177L2.9344 (R2=0,7816) for males and W = 0.012L3.0817 (R2=0,8976) for females with isometric growth pattern. The length-weight relationship for combined sexes was W= 0.0156L2.9816 (R2=0,8186) with an isometric growth pattern. The gonadal maturity for all samples was at immature and developing stages. The gonadal index in female snapper at immature was 0.16 and developing was 0.41, whereas the male gonadal maturity index at immature was 0.14 and developing was 0.38.Keywords: Lutjanus kasmira; length-weight; gonad maturity; gonadal indexAbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan panjang berat, pola pertumbuhan dan indeks  gonad  ikan kakap Lutjanus kasmira. Sampel ikan ditangkap menggunakan pancing ulur mata pancing nomor  3 dan tali monofilament nomor 80. Aktivitas pengambilan sampel dilakukan masing-masing pada 26 Juli-4 Agustus, 26 Agustus-4 September 2020, dan 10 Oktober 2020. Sebanyak 70 individu sampel diperoleh, 22 betina dan 48 jantan. Sebaran ukuran panjang ikan betina  104-150 mm dan berat 18,19-55,87 g. Sebaran ukuran panjang ikan jantan 107-150 mm dan berat 19,00-57,00 g.     Hubungan panjang-berat diperoleh W= 0,0177L2,9344 (R2=0,7816) untuk jantan dan W = 0,012L3,0817 (R2=0,8976) untuk betina dengan pola pertumbuhan isometrik. Gabungan ikan kakap jantan dan betina diperoleh W= 0,0156L2,9816 (R2=0,8186)  dengan pola pertumbuhan isometrik. Tingkat kematangan gonad  (TKG) terhadap seluruh sampel baik jantan maupun betina berada pada TKG I (belum matang) dan TKG II (berkembang). Indeks  gonad pada ikan kakap betina pada TKG I sebesar 0,16 dan TKG II sebesar 0,41. Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to determine the relationship between length and weight and condition factors of Siganus lineatus around Kareko waters, Lembeh Strait. Sampling was carried out in March 2021 from fishermen's catch using net fishing gear. There were 31 individuals collected with a length range of 169.95-345.69 mm and a weight range of 94-939 grams. The relationship between length and weight of male (b= 0.3018), female (b= 0.3631) and total (b= 0.3287) showed a negative allometric growth pattern. Mean condition factors of the male, female and total were 0.106, 0.075, and 0.091, indicating that rabbitfish are in poor condition.Keywords: rabbitfish; allometric; fishermen.AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan panjang berat dan faktor kondisi Siganus lineatus di perairan sekitar Kelurahan Kareko, Selat Lembeh. Pengambilan sampel sepanjang bulan Maret 2021 dari  hasil tangkapan nelayan yang menggunakan alat tangkap jaring. Jumlah ikan yang terkumpul sebanyak 31 individu dengan kisaran panjang 169,95-345,69 mm dan berat 94-939 gram. Hubungan panjang berat ikan beronang jantan (b= 0,3018), betina (b= 0,3631) dan total (b= 0,3287) menunjukkan pola pertumbuhan alometrik negatif. Faktor kondisi rata-rata ikan beronang jantan, betina dan total yaitu 0,106, 0,075 dan 0,091, hal ini menunjukkan ikan beronang dalam kondisi kurang baik karena memiliki nilai kurang dari satu.Kata kunci : ikan beronang; alometrik; nelayan.

Abstract

 This study aims to determine the distribution of sizes and morphological characters of Banggai Cardinal fish in the waters in front of Dudepo Village, South Bolaang Mongondow Regency. Field data collection using the explorer survey method with diving and snorkeling activities. Fishing in each microhabitat with “Sibu” fishing gear. The size distribution of cardinal Banggai fish is in the range of 2.7 - 9.2 cm. The size of the male Banggai Cardinal fish is in the range of 3.8 - 9.2, while the female is in the range of 3.7 - 8.1 cm. The size of fish in symbiosis with anemones is in the range of 2.7 - 7.1 cm, while those in sea urchins are in the range of 4.8 - 9.2 cm.Keywords: Size Distribution; Banggai Cardinal fish; morphological charactersAbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sebaran ukuran dan karakter morfologi ikan banggai kardinal di perairan Desa Dudepo, Kabupaten Bolaang Mongondow Selatan. Pengambilan data lapangan menggunakan metode survei jelajah dengan kegiatan penyelaman dan snorkling.  Penangkapan ikan di setiap mikrohabitat, dengan alat tangkap “Sibu”.  Sebaran ukuran ikan banggai kardinal berada pada kisaran 2,7 - 9,2 cm.  Ukuran ikan banggai kardinal jantan berada pada kisaran 3,8 - 9,2, sedangkan betina berada pada kisaran 3,7 - 8,1 cm.  Ukuran ikan yang bersimbiosis dengan anemon berada pada kisaran 2,7 - 7,1 cm, sementara yang berada di bulu babi berkisar 4,8 - 9,2 cm.

Abstract

The research was conducted in the seagrass ecosystem of Lihunu Village, East Likupang Subdistrict, North Minahasa Regency, and North Sulawesi Province.  The area is one of the coastal areas in North Sulawesi that lack information about gastropod resources. Therefore, the main reason for conducting research is to find out the presence of gastropods in the area.  The purpose of the study was to know the types of gastropods and to know the structure of communities through species density, relative density, diversity, and dominance. Sampling is done using the quadratic transect technique measuring 50 x 50 cm.  Quadrate used 50 cm x 50 cm, then converted to square meters to 0,25 m2. The density of the species is 4,80 Ind/m2.  The relative density value of the species with the highest percentage is in Euplica scripta Species with a value of 14,44% and the species with the lowest percentage value, namely Cymbiola vespertilio Species with a value of 0,56%.  Diversity index values in 3 transects fall under the high criteria. Transect 1 is H'= 5.30, transect 2 is H'= 4,18 and transect 3 is H' = 3,95. And the highest dominance value in Euplica scripta Species with a value of C = 0,48.  The water area of Lihunu Village of North Minahasa Regency has an average temperature of 30 ° C.  Salinity is obtained with an average of 30‰. The degree of acidity (pH) obtained is 8.Keywords: Gastropod; Community Structure; Lihunu.AbstrakPenelitian dilakukan di ekosistem lamun perairan Desa Lihunu, Kecamatan Likupang Timur, Kabupaten Minahasa Utara, Provinsi Sulawesi Utara. Daerah tersebut menjadi salah satu daerah pesisir di Sulawesi Utara yang kekurangan informasi mengenai sumberdaya gastropoda. Oleh karena itu, yang menjadi alasan utama melakukan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui keberadaan gastropoda di daerah tersebut. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu mengetahui jenis-jenis gastropoda serta mengetahui struktur komunitas melalui: Kepadatan spesies, kepadatan relatif, keanekaragaman, dan dominansi. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik transek kuadrat berukuran 50 x 50 cm. Kuadrat yang dipakai 50 cm x 50 cm, kemudian dikonversikan ke meter persegi menjadi 0,25 m2. Nilai kepadatan spesies yaitu 4.80 Ind/m2. Nilai kepadatan relatif jenis dengan persentase tertinggi terdapat pada Spesies Euplica scripta dengan nilai 14.44% dan spesies dengan nilai persentase terendah yaitu Spesies Cymbiola vespertilio dengan nilai sebesar 0,56%. Nilai indeks keanekaragaman di 3 transek masuk dalam kriteria tinggi. Transek 1 yaitu H’= 5,30 ,pada transek 2 yaitu H’= 4,18 dan transek 3 yaitu H’ = 3,95. Dan nilai dominansi tertinggi pada Spesies Euplica scripta dengan nilai C = 0.48. Daerah perairan Desa Lihunu Kabupaten Minahasa Utara memiliki rata-rata suhu 30°C. Salintas yang diperoleh dengan rata-rata 30‰. Derajat keasaman (pH) yang diperoleh yaitu 8.Kata kunci :Gastropoda; Struktur Komunitas; Lihunu.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the distribution and the diversity of ascidians in Manado Bay including species composition, density, diversity, and dominance. This study used the quadrat transect method. This study found differences in the number of ascidian species with water depth, 11 species of 5 families at 15 M depth, and 8 species of 3 families at 7 M depth. The diversity index ranged from 0.868 to 1.844 at 15 M depth and 0.965 to 1.864 at 7 M depth, the evenness index was 0.533 – 0.839 at 15 M depth and 0.600 – 0.897 at 7 M depth, the dominance index was 0.254 – 0.745 at 15 M depth and 0.254 – 0.708 at 7 M depth. Ascidian in Manado Bay had two distribution patterns, a uniform distribution pattern and a clustered distribution pattern. Environmental parameters had a water temperature of 27 oC – 31 oC, the salinity of 30 0/00 – 32 0/00, the brightness of 12 m – 14 m, and pH of 8 – 10.*Keywords: Ascidian; diversity; ecological index; distribution patternAbstrakTujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui distribusi dan keanekaragaman jenis ascidia di perairan Teluk Manado meliputi: komposisi jenis, kepadatan individu, keanekaragaman, dan dominansi. Serta mengetahui pola distribusi ascidia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode transek kuadran. Pada penelitian ini ditemukan perbedaan jumlah spesies ascidia menurut kedalaman, 11 spesies dari 5 family pada 15 M dan 8 spesies dari 3 famili pada kedalaman 7 m. Nilai indeks keanekaragaman ascidia di kedalaman 15 m = 0.868 – 1.844 dan 7 m = 0.965 - 1.864, indeks keseragaman 15 m = 0.533 – 0.839 dan 7 m = 0.600 – 0.897, indeks Dominasi15 m = 0.254 – 0.745 dan 7 m = 0.254 – 0.708. Ascdia di perairan Teluk Manado memiliki dua pola distribusi yaitu pola distribusi seragam dan pola distribusi mengelopok. Parameter lingkungan memiliki suhu air 27 oC – 31 oC, salinitas 30 0/00 – 32 0/00, kecerahan 12 m – 14 m, dan pH 8 – 10.*Kata kunci : Ascidia; keanekaragaman; indeks ekologi; pola distribusi
