Abstract

The mosque is the center of life and activities of Muslims, both for carrying out ukhrawi worship and worldly worship. Along with the times, mosques have become one of the choices in the realm of tourism, namely religious tourism. Religious tourism is a tourism sector that continues to grow in Indonesia, where the majority of the population is Muslim and has a culture of religiosity and culture. The development of mosques in Indonesia and the world shows an increase. Apart from being a place of worship for Muslims, mosques have various functions, both to carry out ukhrawi worship and worldly worship. Sungai Kakap Village is one of the villages that has the potential in the form of an estuary which is one of the national shipping lanes that is still in the development stage (Perda Kubu Raya Number 7 of 2016). The high tolerance between tribes, races, and religions in this region makes acculturation between cultures occur naturally, despite the diverse composition of the population of races and religions. This area is a strategic area in economic and tourism aspects. One of the tourism sectors that has the potential to be developed is religious tourism. The number of availability of worship facilities when compared with the number of adherents of Islam in statistical data, it can be concluded that the distribution of worship facilities in the form of mosques in this area has not been evenly distributed. Therefore, the object of design is "Design of the Floating Mosque Area in Sungai Kakap Village" as a fulfillment of mosque facilities to facilitate worship activities and create tourist attractions that can become a magnet for the region. Contextual Architecture approaches and lighting strategies are used so as to produce a solemn perception in worship and create iconic buildings that can make the area a tourism magnet.

Abstract

The people of Kubu Raya Regency are already familiar with art. The Kubu Raya Regency Government often organizes art activities such as holding art competitions held by the government for the people of Kubu Raya Regency who have enthusiasm for art. However, this is still not in line with the facilities available to artists or art activists in terms of developing potential and providing a forum for artists. Therefore, the development of existing potential needs to be done by inserting it in the tourism sector, namely the development of Art Gallery built in Kubu Raya Regency. The design of the existing Art Gallery is a form of response to the development of potential as well as problem solving in Kubu Raya Regency by emphasizing case studies of similar objects with the aim of enriching design ideas in design and some existing standards so that the design of this Art Gallery is in accordance with applicable regulations. The result of this design is an Art Gallery area that can accommodate the focus of community art activities, and design buildings that are in accordance with the context of needs, artistic values, and space requirements. The design of the Art Gallery building also considers aspects of the location that are adjusted to the Kubu Raya Regency RTRW as the location of the tourist development of Kubu Raya Regency so that it is still in line with the development plan of the Kubu Raya Regency area.

Abstract

North Pontianak District is a region in the Equator City that serves as a significant agricultural production area, with a primary focus on horticultural commodities, particularly vegetables. However, this potential has not yet been optimally utilized in efforts to empower the area and its local communities. There is a pressing need for a relevant land-use function to enhance the development of local agricultural products. The objective of designing a Horticulture-Based Agri-tourism Area in North Pontianak District is to serve as a strategic approach for empowering the area by establishing it as a center for agricultural business and managing horticultural land potential, thus contributing to the development of agricultural tourism destinations. In addition to food production, agricultural land can be integrated into a recreational and educational space to attract tourist visits. The design method applied is the five-step design process according to Snyder Catanese, which includes initiation, preparation, proposal submission, action, and evaluation. The outcome of this design is the creation of an agri-tourism area that integrates agricultural, recreational, and educational elements, focusing on the empowerment of local communities and the optimization of agricultural land potential.

Abstract

The low literacy culture and interest in reading in Kubu Raya Regency can be overcome by bringing literacy culture and interest in reading closer to children from an early age. In addition, currently in Kubu Raya Regency there is no facility that can accommodate children's reading and learning activities according to their character and needs. Therefore, it is necessary to design a Children's Special Library in Kubu Raya Regency with the aim of providing a place for children in Kubu Raya Regency to read, learn, and carry out other activities that can support the learning process of children as the function of the library in general. The method used is the R. Wintaker eight-step design process method, which is very suitable for use in this design. This method will start from the initial stage which consists of the process of object recognition and definition, then proceed with the process of preparation, analysis, synthesis, evaluation and finally re-evaluation, so as to get a design concept in the form of a game of building facade shapes, colors, provision of natural environments in the form of parks, as well as the concept of space arrangement with an open system.

Abstract

Singkawang City is a city located in West Kalimantan Province, known for its significant population of ethnic Chinese residents, making it one of the largest ethnic Chinese communities in Indonesia. Cultural heritage from the ethnic Chinese community is easily found in Singkawang City, ranging from traditions, cuisine, to buildings with a distinct Chinese flair. This has led to Singkawang City joining the Indonesian Heritage Cities Network (JKPI), prompting the Singkawang City Government to begin planning areas that can be used to preserve Chinese cultural heritage. The planning of Chinese cultural areas in Singkawang City is a solution to existing issues. The existence of this design is intended to develop and preserve the existing Chinese cultural heritage in the urban area. The design method used is J.C. Jones' (1989) design method, which consists of ideas, information, analysis, synthesis, evaluation, and optimization. The design of this cultural center area will utilize the concept of a living museum. The results of the design will be divided into three spatial hierarchies: main spaces (traditional Chinese houses, performance buildings, thematic pedestrian paths), supporting spaces (public and green open spaces, informal economic zones, temporary festival zones), and complementary spaces (art and cultural installations, cultural facades for buildings, city parking, river bridges, public toilets). This design is realized by integrating existing cultural heritage into the area in accordance with the current physical conditions of the site, thereby creating an area that can interpret Chinese cultural values within it.

Abstract

Singkawang is a city in West Kalimantan known as the “City of Tourism,” enriched by the arts, culture, and traditions of three major ethnic groups: Chinese, Dayak, and Malay. This diversity serves as an essential foundation for developing public spaces that accommodate various community activities while strengthening social interaction. One of the most strategic public spaces is the city park, which functions not only as a recreational area but also as a hub for social, cultural, educational, and environmental activities. The redesign of Cahaya Madani Gayung Bersambut Park is carried out to address the limited availability of public spaces in Singkawang. The park is envisioned as a facility that can accommodate recreational activities, art performances, exhibitions, as well as environmental and cultural education. Beyond enhancing the city’s visual appeal, the park is also expected to maintain ecological balance and serve as a learning space for visitors. The aim of this proposed design is to redevelop Cahaya Madani Park into a supporting facility that meets the needs of the community and cultural activities in Singkawang through stages of analysis, synthesis, evaluation, and iterative improvement. Located in a strategic area, the park is expected to become a new inclusive, multifunctional, and sustainable landmark that can be enjoyed by all segments of society and tourists.

Abstract

Vocational High School (SMK) is a secondary education level in formal education in Indonesia after graduating from Junior High School (SMP). Data from the Central Statistics Agency states that Pontianak Tenggara District does not yet have a State Vocational High School. The design of the Vocational High School is an effort to increase the distribution of public service facilities. The planned State Vocational High School will have a concentration in business and management because Pontianak City has economic potentialsa, namely in the trade sector. The designer's goal is to produce plans and designs for educational facilities at the State Vocational High School (SMKN) level in Pontianak Tenggara District. The methods applied in this design include the idea stage, data collection stage, analysis stage, synthesis stage, and design stage. The results of the State Vocational High School building plan have a typical three-story building type with 18 classrooms and a practice room with a linear pattern and has a building area of 4,584 m². The building consists of two masses, namely the building mass with educational functions and supporting functions. The concept applied in the building is form follows function with a functional approach, where this concept is able to provide building functions according to needs.

Abstract

Following the COVID-19 pandemic, public awareness of healthy lifestyles and mental health well-being has notably increased. This presents a significant opportunity to create environments that foster innovation in health and wellness, thereby supporting economic growth. However, the limited availability of integrated facilities has become a major obstacle in fulfilling the public"™s need for healthy entertainment and physical activities. Therefore, the design of the North Pontianak Water Park aims to provide a recreational space that supports both aquatic and social activities. The design process implements R. Whitaker"™s eight-step design method, which commences with issue identification and culminates with development of a design concept based on analytical results. The design concept focuses on integrating core functions, including water attractions, social spaces, and supporting facilities. A functional design approach that responds to the local climate while prioritizing comfort, safety, and accessibility. The final design features four buildings with different functions, nine swimming pools in separate zones, one extreme slide, one spiral slide, and five racer slides.

Abstract

The agricultural sector plays an important role in economic activities in Indonesia. Kubu Raya Regency is an agricultural center area with quite large production output, a rice field area of 79,000 ha, and 1,850 farmer groups with a total of 167 farmer group organizations. Kubu Raya Regency already has a Rice Agriculture Training Center, but the facilities and space are inadequate, so development needs to be carried out to meet the needs and comfort of its users. The rice farming training center is a place to learn, practice, and practice in the field of rice farming. The aim of this study is to design a rice agriculture training center by adjusting the facility standards and user comfort of the building used for training, management, and visitor activities. The design method used in this design is the five-step design process method in the book "Introduction to Architecture" proposed by Snyder and Catanese (1984). The design stage begins with the initiation, preparation, proposal-making, evaluation, and action stages. The design concept that will be used adjusts the function and balances the surrounding natural environment. Then supporting facilities were added to increase public interest in coming and increase their knowledge about rice farming. The result is a design for a Rice Agriculture Training Center building with facilities capable of accommodating training activities for farmers, as well as activities for preserving and processing rice agricultural products.
