Abstract

Indonesian people are still not used to living separately from elderly family members. Urban areas such as Kubu Raya are included in developing cities where people are dominated by productive age. Elderly people who are not productive and have decreased body functions have different activities. Based on data from public health centers in Kubu Raya, there is no special health service building for the elderly. Special programs for the elderly are only offered in the form of elderly posyandu and nursing homes. Kubu Raya still lacks elderly-friendly public facilities. Especially for natural problems suffered by the elderly both from common (physical) diseases to psychological problems. The design objective is to produce a design of facilities that accommodate the needs of the elderly. The design method is carried out through several stages, namely the idea of theme ideas, problem identification, data collection, analysis, synthesis, and design stages. The result is the concept of a Healthy Elderly Home that provides nature in the space. Facilitating the physical and psychological activity needs of the elderly which is a measure of elderly health. The concept of a therapeutic environment and healthy living modifications in a customized design. Natural elements are believed to have elements that have a positive impact such as improving quality of life, diverting depression, and calming the soul.

Abstract

Culinary is a basic need that is related to the cultural results of society. In an effort to preserve culinary culture, it is necessary to design a culinary tourism center as a recreation area to reflect the characteristics of the city of Pontianak. From a geographical perspective, the city of Pontianak is divided by the Kapuas Riverlandscape city, so it can be realized aspoint of view main. Designing a culinary tourism center by optimizing visual contact that prioritizes the river body as the front porch of the building so as to create public open space to increase community accessibility to the use of water bodies. To realize development that does not damage the environmental conditions of rivers, sustainable development is needed with an environmentally friendly architectural approach. The design is planned to create a healthy space through the selection of building materials and systems applied. Design has three main functions, namely recreational, commercial and service. The results of the design are design products for buildings with dynamic articulated forms to create a recreational atmosphere. The main aim of the design is to create a recreational space to accommodate street vendors and culinary-related facilities with spatial planning on the banks of the Kapuas river, Pontianak City. The building consists of three masses arranged radially to create natural ventilation and lighting that can be oriented to the mass of the building as well as circulation from all directions.

Abstract

Abstract

Children in Conflict with the Law (CICL) are minors involved in legal processes due to violations of law. In Kubu Raya Regency, the increasing number of CICL has not been supported by adequate rehabilitation and development facilities. Therefore, this study focuses on the architectural design of a Social Welfare Organizing Institution (LPKS) that provides a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment for rehabilitation and social reintegration. The main objective of this design project is to develop a facility that meets the functional, psychological, and social needs of CICL through the application of principles of safety, comfort, and educational value. The design method includes user needs identification, space standard analysis based on LPKS regulations, and the application of contextual design concepts emphasizing environmental sustainability and local wisdom. The result is an integrated spatial concept consisting of residential, training, counseling, and recreational zones, designed with secure circulation and effective visual supervision. This design aims to serve as a model for humane, adaptive, and socially restorative facilities for children in conflict with the law.

Abstract

The development of art, especially illustration, has been a much-discussed topic among Indonesians, both young and old. Fine art emphasises on freedom of expression, aesthetics, and also about conveying deep messages and encouraging reflection, including painting, sculpture, graphics, photography, and digital art. One of the issues in Pontianak City is the absence of a special building or space that meets the standards of fine art exhibition. The design method is based on Archer (1968), namely programming (determining important issues), data collection (classifying and storing data), analysis (reassessing the proposed programmed and estimating), synthesis (initial concept development), development (outline concept mapping), and communication (final presentation). By considering the environmental, and geographical aspects of Pontianak City. The selection of the main theme in the design of Borneo Fine Art Gallery in Pontianak City is "˜Social Interaction"™, with the approach of creating a sense of belonging. The design of Borneo Fine Art Gallery in Pontianak City aims to accommodate functions that can accommodate creative activities, creating a space that not only functions as a gallery, but also as a regional art activity centre, and an adaptive gathering space.

Abstract

Adolescence is a transitional phase from childhood to adulthood. Teenagers require dedicated facilities where they can gather, engage in discussions, and share ideas. A significant issue in fostering youth creativity is the lack of adequate infrastructure and facilities for teenagers in West Kalimantan. One solution to this issue is the development of a Youth Center. The Youth Center of West Kalimantan, located in Kubu Raya, is designed to accommodate three main functions—education, recreation, and sports—aiming to support the development of skills, creativity, and social interaction among youth. The design method employed refers to R. Whitaker approach, which includes the stages of introduction, definition, preparation, analysis, synthesis, evaluation, and reevaluation. The result achieved in designing this building is a single-mass structure that adopts a comfortable and adaptive communal space concept, which is applied across several areas of the building.. The result of this design process is a communal space that serves as a platform for social interaction, allowing teenagers to engage in various activities together.

Abstract

This study presented a diachronic analysis of the morphological development of Pontianak City as a waterfront city. The diachronic time frame is based on several old maps, including those made in 1846, 1898, 1942, 1980, and 2020. The objective of this study was to determine the direction and patterns of waterfront city development in terms of road network patterns. Space syntax method was selected because this method analyzes urban morphology through a configuration model and produces spatial patterns in relation to the social character of the residents in the city. Integration analysis was performed to convey the tendency and probability of the next direction of development. The results showed that the direction of the development orientation of Pontianak City underwent some changes over periods, starting from river-oriented to land-oriented due to the construction of ditches and bridges. In fact, the development patterns of Pontianak City caused some urban problems, namely North Pontianak (Area C) became left behind and segregated from the city centre (Area A). Space syntax can predict the development of Pontianak City based on the socio-economic conditions of the community. However, political conditions and policies are unpredictable yet able to change the direction of the city’s development to be guided.
