Abstract

This study aims to analyze the problems and development of dodol pangi product marketing in small and medium enterprises in Soppeng Regency, South Sulawesi. Dodol pangi is a processed pangi fruit product that has high economic potential but is still limited to the local market. This study uses the agrosystem development planning analysis method (APPAS), which includes analysis of situations, problems, goals, and business development planning. The results of the study show that the main problems faced are low sales, which are caused by limited marketing areas, low packaging quality, and lack of promotion and understanding of digital marketing. In addition, product quality is also affected by the use of production equipment that is still manual. This study designs a series of actions to improve marketing, including improving the ability of human resources in digital marketing, redesigning packaging by including halal labels, composition, nutritional value, and expiration dates, as well as the procurement of more modern production equipment. The implementation of marketing strategies through social media, e-commerce, and exhibitions is expected to expand the market and increase product demand. Based on calculations, by implementing these actions, it is hoped that turnover and net income can increase significantly, reaching the sales target of 3000 packs per month and net income of around IDR 20,000,000. This research contributes to the development of agro-industrial marketing strategies based on superior local products at the small and medium enterprise levels.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Opportunities for organic farming agribusiness, especially organic rice, are wide open for farmers, especially those who are members of farmer groups because of the high consumer demand for organic agricultural products which are very good for health and also have high economic value. The problem faced is the lack of knowledge of farmers about organic rice crop production and the use of quality organic seeds to support crop production. The community service activities were carried out at the Mitra Perkasa Tani Botolempangan, Baddo Ujung Hamlet, Tompobulu Village, Tompobulu Subdistrict, Maros Regency. This activity is in the form of transferring science and technology to farmers to increase farmers' income through organic rice seeding businesses, processing agricultural waste (plant biomass and livestock waste) into organic fertilizers and making organic pesticides for use in rice cultivation. The methods used in the implementation of the activity are: counseling / theoretical assistance and training / practical assistance. The technology package introduced was in the form of techniques for making organic fertilizers from natural (solid and liquid) agricultural waste with local-based raw material sources, organic rice seed production techniques and rice cultivation techniques based on natural products ranging from land preparation to post-harvest. PKM results show that farmers are very enthusiastic in studying the organic rice farming system. This can be seen from the presence of the local Agriculture Office and the high level of farmer attendance, which is about 40 out of 20 people invited to all stages of the activity. The demonstration plot is very well preserved so that the growth and development of plants is also very good. Keywords: Organic farming, organic seeds, organic rice, self-sufficient seeds villages, empowerment of farmers.

Abstract

This study investigates sago-based food processing businesses' cost structure, profitability, and sustainability trends in North Luwu and Palopo City, South Sulawesi, Indonesia. Despite sago’s strategic role as a traditional food and a climate-resilient crop, the industry faces declining raw material availability, low farmer income, and limited technological adoption. Using a combined qualitative-quantitative descriptive approach, including structured surveys and focus group discussions (FGDs), this research provides a detailed cost and trend analysis of micro and small- scale enterprises producing local sago foods such as bagea, dange, and kapurung. The findings reveal that while these businesses remain economically viable—with R/C ratios above 1.0 and the dange business reaching 2.1—profitability is constrained by small-scale operations, high input costs, and inadequate support systems. This study fills a critical research gap by shifting focus from upstream sago cultivation to downstream enterprise viability, offering a rare empirical insight into the dynamics of traditional food microenterprises in Indonesia. The novelty of this research lies in its integrated assessment of cost efficiency, scale potential, and policy implications. It proposes strategic interventions including modernizing processing technologies, strengthening farmer- producer linkages, and scaling up through cooperative models. The results provide actionable recommendations for local governments and agribusiness stakeholders aiming to revitalize indigenous food sectors. Future research should explore the design of sustainable enterprise clusters, examine consumer preferences for sago-based products, and evaluate the long-term impacts of technological and institutional interventions on sago industry resilience.
