Abstract

Mastery of concepts is part of the important thinking skills dominated by students to be developed. Mastery of biological concepts held by students is still low. The fact that the mastery of concepts tends to come from teacher questions and student questions in finding answers to teacher questions or through learning models that attract students' attention in learning. This refers to the 2011 TIMSS (The Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study) report, showing that the ranking of Indonesian children in science occupies the 42nd position of 45 countries. The TIMSS results show that Indonesian children are still unable to: among others: show some abstract and complex concepts in science. One of the efforts to improve the quality of conceptual mastery is to apply guided inquiry model. This study aims to develop inquiry based learning tools (PPBIT) and analyze its effectiveness in improving the mastery of the concept of biology of SMAN 2 Taliwang-Sumbawa Barat students. PPBIT is implemented with reference to the 4D procedure. to know the effectiveness of PPBIT then conducted quasi experimental research with pretest posttes control group design design. The sample of research is 66 people spread in two classes selected by purposive sampling technique. The results showed that PPBIT was feasible to be used with average feasibility of syllabus 78.71%, RPP 83.5, LKITS 75%, and conception mastering instrument 81.25%, and effective in improving ability mastery of biology concept of students of class X SMAN 2 Taliwang, and waste recycling with an average score of students' mastery skills from 58.82 to 94.09.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the validity of inquiry-based teaching materials oriented towards sustainable society in waste management on pollution materials. The development model used in this research is 4D, which is modified into 3D with detailed stages, namely: 1) define; 2) design / design; and 3) develop. The research sample was 25 students of the Biology Education Study Program, FKIP, Cordova University. The research instrument used is a validation sheet, which includes a construct and content validation sheet. Data collection techniques in this study by means of validation. The data analysis technique is descriptive quantitative. The results showed that, based on the two expert validators in the construct section which were stated to be very valid, the average score was 3.75 and the percentage was 93.75 with very good criteria. The validation in the content section is stated to be very valid, the average score obtained is 62.5 and the percentage is 91.9 with very good criteria. Based on the results of the validation, it can be concluded that, inquiry-based textbooks oriented towards sustainable society in waste management on the pollution material produced are declared eligible to be used as teaching materials.

Abstract

Arguing ability was a part of critical thinking skills which important to be mastered by the students. In fact, students’ ability to argue was still relatively low. This referred to the TIMSS report (The Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study) in 2011, and showed that Indonesian children’s level in science was positioned in 42 from 45 countries. One kind of efforts to improve the quality of the ability to argue was applying the model of guided inquiry. Abstract

This study aims to analyze and implement strategies for empowering the "Karang Biru" business group located in the coastal area of Labuhan Lalar, Sumbawa Barat. The group faces challenges in optimizing their economic potential while maintaining environmental sustainability. Through community engagement and sustainable development practices, this empowerment program seeks to enhance their economic independence while promoting coastal resource conservation. The focus areas include capacity building, market access, and sustainable resource management. This initiative is expected to serve as a model for other coastal communities in Indonesia.

Abstract

Proses penyusunan skripsi terkadang membuat mahasiswa merasa terbebani dan menambah tingkatan stres mahasiswa. Penelitian membuktikan terdapat hubungan antara motivasi mahasiswa terhadap tingkat stres mahasiswa dalam penulisan skripsi. Hal ini memberikan tantangan tersendiri kepada unit pengelola program studi dalam memberikan pelayanan kepada mahasiswa yang sedang melakukan penulisan skripsi (mahasiswa semester 7) dan memberikan strategi penyusunan skripsi bagi mahasiswa semester 5. Tujuan penelitian untuk menganalisis arah penelitian skripsi, menilai peningkatan progress capaian penyusunan skripsi, serta upaya percepatan penyusunan skripsi. penelitian ini termasuk penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif, menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen angket berbantuan platform Google Form. Data dianalisis menggunakan metode analisis data interaktif serta penilaian skor persentase dan indikator peningkatan progress capaian penulisan skripsi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan mahasiswa pendidikan biologi lebih banyak memilih penelitian pendidikan sebagai arah penelitian skripsi. Capaian penyusunan skripsi mahasiswa hanya berada pada persentase 40%. Salah satu upaya yang dilakukan unit pengelola program studi dalam percepatan penyusunan skripsi adalah pendampingan, pembimbingan serta mengadakan seminar pendidikan dan workshop penulisan karya tulis ilmiah untuk mahasiswa.

Abstract

Permasalahan penelitian ini adalah memperoleh solusi dalam proses pengelolaan alat-alat laboratorium biologi serta melakukan pengembangan E-Modul pembelajaran. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui solusi dalam proses pengelolaan alat-alat laboratorium biologi serta melakukan pengembangan E-Modul pembelajaran. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode pengembangan 4D. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa proses pengembangan E-Modul melewati 4 jenis validasi instrumen yaitu validasi konstruk (87,5%), validisi isi (87,5%), validasi uji keterbacaan oleh tenaga pendidik (96,25%) dan peserta didik (87,5%) serta respon peserta didik terhadap keterbacaan E-Modul dengan kriteria sangat baik. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa perlu adanya pengembangan E-Modul pengelolaan alat-alat laboratorium Biologi di SMPN 5 Seteluk.

Abstract

This research was carried out with the aim of finding out the validity of POE-based practicum instructions (Predict, Observe and Expline) at SMP Negeri 4 Taliwang. This type of research refers to the 4D development model, which consists of four stages, namely Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. This research stage was only carried out until the develop stage, namely testing development on a limited scale. This is because the POE (Predict, Observe and Expline) based practicum instructions have not yet reached the Disseminate stage, namely the dissemination stage at the high school level in West Sumbawa Regency. The instrument used in this research was a validation test sheet for POE-based practicum instructions with data collection techniques using the average expert validation score. The results of data analysis show that the development of a POE-based practical manual is valid and very suitable for use. The validation results obtained very high feasibility from the 10 assessment indicators with a value of 87.5%. POE-based practical instructions have been validated by a team of experts, then revised based on suggestions from the validator. As well as the results of the POE-based practicum instructions readability test on 15 indicators with easy criteria with a score of 98.64%. Among the 15 readability test indicators, there were 2 indicators that received hesitant answers from respondents and 3 indicators that received disagreeing answers from respondents. The implications of these practical instructions can be utilized by educators and students in learning in the classroom and outside the classroom, especially in laboratory activities.

Abstract

Kelompok Tani Ai Sanger merupakan kelompok usaha yang telah menjalankan usaha madu sejak tahun 2015 di Desa Mataiyang, Kecamatan Brang Ene, Kabupaten Sumbawa Barat. Kekayaan madu hutan yang berlimpah di Desa Mataiyang memberikan peluang bagi kelompok tani untuk mencari dan memproduksi sendiri madu yang dipasarkan. Hasil panen yang diperoleh dalam satu kali musim sangat berlimpah. Namun dalam lima tahun terakhir Kelompok Tani Ai Sanger menghadapi masalah dalam menjalankan usahanya dimana hasil panen semakin berkurang dan hasil produksi kurang berkualitas disebabkan oleh proses pemanenan dan pengemasan madu yang masih dilakukan secara konvensional. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut. Program Kemitraan Masyarakat (PKM) dilaksanakan guna memberikan solusi bagi kelompok tani melalui kegiatan pelatihan dan pendampingan tentang metode panen lestari, proses madu tiris, dan pengemasan produk. Kegiatan dilaksankan selama lima hari dengan jumlah peserta 11 orang. Berdasarkan hasil pelatatihan dan pendampingan, Kelompok Tani Ai Sanger mampu meningkatkan produksinya dengan rata-rata 50-80%, dan kualitas madu lebih baik dangan kemasana lebih menarik

Abstract

The use of chemical insecticides as mosquito repellent has the potential to cause negative impacts on health and the environment. Therefore, this study aims to develop Citrussera Spray, an organic mosquito repellent made from orange peel and lemongrass. The content of active compounds such as limonene in orange peel and citronellal in lemongrass have properties as natural repellents. The research method includes extraction of active ingredients using steam distillation and maceration methods, spray formulation, and effectiveness tests on mosquitoes. The results showed that Citrussera Spray has high effectiveness in repelling mosquitoes compared to controls without repellent. In addition, safety tests showed that this product is safe to use without causing skin irritation. Thus, Citrussera Spray can be an innovative alternative as an organic mosquito repellent that is environmentally friendly and safe for health.
