Abstract

Mathematical creative thinking is an important skill for students to face global challenges and advances in science and technology. However, previous research shows that this skill is still low among Indonesian students. Accurate measurement can be ensured by valid and reliable instruments. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the validity and reliability of the mathematical creative thinking ability test instrument using the Rasch Model and SPSS. The research method is quantitative with a survey approach, involving 106 participants from various demographic backgrounds. The results of the validity test using the Rasch model showed that the eight items on the mathematical creative thinking ability test instrument met the criteria with the ideal value range for Outfit MNSQ, Outfit ZSTD, and PTMEA-CORR. In addition, the validity test results using SPSS show that the eight items have a correlation coefficient value that exceeds the r product moment value. The results of the analysis showed that the instruments tested were valid and reliable with a Cronbach's Alpha value of 0.73 using the Rasch Model and SPSS. However, the Rasch Model showed 24 persons that did not fit, which means that the Rasch model's ability to provide more specific results. Both methods can be used effectively to measure the validity and reliability of mathematical creative thinking test instruments and the Rasch Model provides more detailed information in identifying persons who do not fit

Abstract

The mathematical reasoning ability in understanding mathematical material in high school students still has not touched perfect scores. A valid and reliable instrument is needed in measuring mathematical reasoning skills in students. Validity and reliability testing of the instrument is carried out to ensure whether an instrument can be used to provide accurate results in a measurement being performed. Therefore, this study aims to determine the level of validity and reliability of mathematical reasoning skills in students using Winsteps. The method used in this study is a quantitative survey method, with 252 respondents in high schools in Jakarta. This study uses 3 indicators that are a reference in measuring the mathematical reasoning ability possessed by students. The validity test on the instrument shows that all items on the instrument are valid because they meet the criteria of MNSQ, ZSTD, and Pt Mean Corr except for item 1 which has a ZSTD value of > 2.0 and item 3 has a ZSTD value of < -2.0. Meanwhile, the reliability test obtained an Alpha Cronbach calculation of 0.74 which means that the value of the reliability item is high so that the instrument is declared reliable for use. The DIF analysis using winsteps shows that all question items used in the instrument are valid because none of the question items contain bias referring to the DIF Analysis criteria, namely the DIF Contrast value > 0.5 and the probability value < 0.05 where all the value of the question items actually obtained a DIF Contrast value of < 0.5 and a probability value > 0.05.

Abstract

In Indonesia, students' reasoning ability is still very low, especially in mathematical reasoning ability. It was found that the data of mathematical reasoning ability test results of class X students where only 47.22% reached the minimum learning completeness. Reasoning ability also plays an important role in the process of thinking creatively, logically, and systematically so that students can conclude solutions from several known facts as well as proof of mathematical statements, find new ideas, overcome challenges in solving mathematical problems, and reduce dependence on memorization. This study aims to determine the validity and reliability in mathematical reasoning ability of high school students using two statistical applications, namely SPSS and Winstep. The research method used is a quantitative research method with a survey approach, which has a total of 252 respondents from class X high school students in Jakarta. The results of the validity test research using SPSS have 6 valid items so that they are in accordance with the criteria. While the results of the validity test using Winstep there are seven items that do not match the three, and there are twenty-nine items that only meet one requirement, so 154 items must be maintained because they are fulfilled. Meanwhile, the results of reliability calculations using SPSS and Winstep obtained the results (α = 0,74). By using two different statistical applications, namely SPSS and Winstep, it can be stated that the results of the mathematical reasoning ability test have been declared valid and reliable.

Abstract

Critical intellectual skills are very necessary to make a decision, but students' critical intellectual abilities are still very low due to students' lack of ability to solve problems. This research aims to determine the results of instrument validation of applications of the Rasch model to critical thinking abilities. This study employs survey methodologies together with a quantitative methodology. The subjects of this research consisted of 134 high school students consisting of class XI. The results of this study showed two valid items, with one misfit item and five misfit items, while the DIF test showed all items indicated DIF. Testing the reliability of the instrument with the Winsteps application, obtained reliability with a Cronbach Alpha (KR-20) of 0.87, it appears that 0.87 is greater than 0.7 thisfalls into the category of excellent. People's 0.84 dependability score falls into the excellent range. An item's dependability of 0.98 falls within the excellent range. The 2.31person separation falls within the "good" category.

Abstract

Creative thinking skills are important skills in the world of education, but students are less enthusiastic when solving math problems which causes students' mathematical creative thinking skills to be low. This study aims to determine the validity of students' mathematical creative thinking skills on quadratic function material with the Rasch Model. This study uses a quantitative method with a survey approach. The subjects of this study are 106 students consisting of school students, this research is carried out by testing instruments on research subjects. Through the instrument, there are four indicators consisting of eight questions that are tested for validity and bias using the Rasch Model, the results are that all items are declared fit on the validity test, 24 people are declared misfit, with a reliability test score of 0.73 including high criteria and seven items are indicated as biased items.

Abstract

Mathematical literacy skills are needed in everyday life, but the mathematical literacy skills of students in schools show that Indonesian students are very low in the field of mathematical literacy. Therefore, this study aims to determine the Rasch model analysis survey of mathematical literacy skills of senior high school students. This study uses quantitative research methods with a survey approach and uses the Rasch model as a measurement. The subjects studied were 100 students consisting of grades X and XI of high schools in Bekasi city. Furthermore, the results of this study indicate that there is 1 out of 8 items that are misfit and for the provisional calculation of reliability is 0.42, so it is declared not reliable and for the DIF test results there is only one item that is biased.
