Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of use of digital snake and ladder media on the ability of summation calculation operations in grade VIII hearing impaired students at SLB Delta Sejahtera. The research uses the Single Subject Research (SSR) approach with an A–B design consisting of the baseline phase and the intervention phase. The subject of the study was one deaf student who had difficulty in simple addition calculation operations. Data were collected through a written test at each session and analyzed using visual analysis including directional bias, stability, level change, and data overlap. The results showed that the summation ability in the baseline phase was at a percentage of 30%, 30%, 30%, 40%, 30% and tended to be stable, while in the intervention phase there was an increase in score to reach 90% with a change in level of +50 points and an overlap percentage of 10%. These findings show that digital snake and ladder media have a positive effect on the ability of tabulation operations of students with hearing disabilities.   Keywords: Digital Snake Ladder Media, Addition Counting Operation, Hearing- Impaired Student

Abstract

This study aimed to explore the impact of the modeling technique on the independence of fourth-grade students with mild intellectual disabilities at SDLB YPAC Jember in the task of buttoning clothes. The research employed a Single Subject Research (SSR) method using an A-B design. The participant was a student identified as R. The study was conducted in two phases: a baseline phase consisting of five sessions without any intervention, and an intervention phase comprising ten sessions in which the modeling technique was applied. Data were collected through practical assessments of the student’s ability to button clothes and were analyzed descriptively by observing progress across the two phases. The findings revealed a notable improvement in the student’s skills. The average level of independence increased from approximately 63% during the baseline phase to around 82% following the intervention. Furthermore, the percentage of overlap between the phases was 0%, which provides strong evidence of the technique’s effectiveness. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the modeling technique significantly enhances students' independence in buttoning clothes. Therefore, it is recommended as a practical instructional method that special education teachers can adopt to support the development of daily living skills in students with special needs

Abstract

Autism itself is a complex developmental disorder caused by abnormal brain function that impacts communication, social interaction, behavior, sensory development, and learning abilities. Most autistic students still experience difficulties responding to simple instructions during the learning process. The formulation of the problem in this study is whether there is an effect of the ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) method on the ability to understand simple instructions in grade 2 autistic students at SLB C TPA Jember. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of the ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) method on the ability to understand simple instructions in grade 2 autistic students at SLB C TPA Jember. The method used in this study is Single Subject Research (SSR) with an A-B design. Data analysis in this study uses data from the baseline phase (A) and the intervention phase (B). The baseline phase (A) is the observation phase on the subject by observing the ability to understand simple instructions, and the intervention phase (B) is the observation after the subject has been given or given intervention. In this study, there are two variables that are the objects of study, namely the independent variable and the dependent variable. The independent variable is the variable that influences the dependent variable, while the dependent variable is the target behavior ability. The independent variable in this study is the Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) method. The dependent variable, or target, is the ability to understand simple instructions in autistic students.
