Abstract

This article analyzes the history of Coffee Plantations in Gayo Highland Takengon at the time of the Dutch Colonialism era from 1904 to 1942. This historical research aimed to reveal the social and economic background, history, and the labors' condition of Gayo Highland Takengon Coffee Plantations. The historical method, which consisted of five analytical stages, was used as the method to reconstruct the history of the coffee plantations in Gayo. The findings of the research show that the geographical factors supported Gayo Highland Takengon as the area of the coffee plantation. Coffee was firstly developed at Gayo Highland by Veenhuyzen in 1908. From 1908 to 1918, coffee was a non-commercial commodity and produced on a small scale. In 1918, after the establishment of Wilhelmina Blang Gele Coffee Plantation and other plantations managed by both private and state companies, coffee increasingly became a commercial commodity. Private and state-owned companies started to employ Javanese laborers or popularly known as Jawa Kontrak and Jawa Kolonisasi. The laborers were brought in gradually from Java and bounded by the Labor System based on the Staatsblad 1911 and Staatsblad 1915. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the geographical factors and the spirit of capitalism had driven the Dutch private and state companies to develop coffee plantations in Gayo Highland by employing the Javanese contract laborers.Tulisan ini merupakan kajian tentang analisis historis perkebunan kopi di Dataran Tinggi Gayo Takengon pada era kolonial Belanda (1904-1942). Tujuannya tidak lain untuk mengetahui faktor dibukanya perkebunan, sejarah perkebunan pertama dan buruh yang berkerja pada perkebunan kopi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode sejarah dengan menggunakan lima tahapan. Adapun hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara geografis Dataran Tinggi Gayo cocok dijadikan sebagai kawasan perkebunan kopi, hal tersebut telah mendorong adanya penerapan kapitalisme Barat. Tanaman kopi untuk pertama kalinya dikembangkan di Dataran Tinggi Gayo pada tahun 1908, pelopor pertamamnya seorang Belanda bernama Veenhuyzen. Tanaman kopi tersebut awalnya hanya sebagai tanaman non komersial dengan jumlah terbatas, namun sejak tahun 1918 dengan dibukanya perkebunan kopi Wilhelmina Blang Gele, tanaman kopi menjadi tanaman komersial baik yang dikelola oleh Belanda maupun swasta. Buruh yang diperkerjakan pada perkebunan baik Belanda maupun swasta merupakan buruh kontak orang-orang Jawa yang disebut sebagai Jawa Kontrak dan Jawa Kolonisasi. Para buruh tersebut didatangkan dari Pulau Jawa secara bergelombang dan terikat dengan sistem kontak yang mengacu pada staatsblad tahun 1911 dan staatsblad tahun 1915.

Abstract

This research aim to find: (1) the analyze how conditions of teaching materials history; (2).the described of the development local history of teaching materials based on values of The Embroidery Kerawang Gayo to improve nation character of the students, and (3) the description of the effectiveness local history of teaching materials based on values The Embroidery Kerawang Gayo in improving the nation character students.Research method development (Research and Development / R&D) of borg and gall was used in this research to produce teaching materials. Stage methods are: (1) the preliminary stage of the study, namely the study of literature, field studies, needs and findings of teaching materials; (2) the developmental stage, includes: design prototypes, validation expert’ s judgement, the trial and the revision of one-on-one, and piloting broad; (3) And the test of  the  effectiveness stage, includes: test the effectiveness and appropriation teaching materials local history. The results obtained: (1) the teaching materials referring to KTSP, focused on one text book without any partners and also the development of teaching materials, regarding school facilities in the history of teaching materials are not enough, less of giving materials about character education, and teachers are too pursue time to resolve the matter, so that needs of teaching materials with an emphasis on the  nation character; (2) teaching materials local history is based on six components determined, the syllabus and lesson plans, validation of three experts give the value of the average score category 5 with very good, one by one the trial conducted in 5 students and 13 students with the value of the average score 4.4 with the category of very good, the revision of which are only the format of the writing, the results of the trial wide showed that there are differences in between average value of the experiment more increase than both control group of achievement and the attitude of the nation character; and (3) the application of teaching materials local history based on values kerawang gayo embroidery in order to increase nation character has proved effective, proven by  the value of post group test on control and the experiment group, to yield achievement of 0.005 < 0.025 and attitude nation character of 0.005 < 0.025 by this  Ho rejected so there is a difference of positive and significant.

Abstract

The planting of character values in schools based on local wisdom is one of the breakthroughs that can be done by the teacher. One of them with the values the Kenduri Laot tradition that can be developed in the form of learning media. This study aims to develop a lesson plan design in the form of audio visual media-based of the Kenduri Laot tradition to improve the character of students in SMA Plus Athiyah Banda Aceh. The method used is research and development. This method refers to the model of Gall and Borg with the simplification of the stages from ten to three, namely the formulation of the problem, the designer of the development, and the effectiveness of or reflection. Based on the results of the study found a problem that during this time the planting of character values-based of the Kenduri Laot tradition is still not maximized. At this stage of development, carried out the preparation of the synopsis to test the expert audio-visual media. The results of the effectiveness of the t-Test shows that the significance value in the experimental group of 0.000 < 0.05 and in the control group amounted to 0.025 > 0.05, meaning that there is an increase of the characters in the experimental group.

Abstract

Abstrak : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mendeskripsikan sistem pembelajaran bahasa sumber Arab Melayu yang berlangsung pada program studi pendidikan Sejarah Universitas Syiah Kuala, (2) menguraikan mekanisme pengembangan bahan ajar bahasa sumber Arab Melayu berbasis infografis, (3) menganalisis efektivitas bahan ajar bahasa sumber Arab Melayu berbasis infografis dalam meningkatkan minat belajar mahasiswa pendidikan sejarah Universitas Syiah Kuala. Penelitian pengembangan (R&D) ini mengacu pada desain model ADDIE, yang terdiri dari beberapa tahapan diantaranya: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementasi and Evaluation. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) proses pembelajaran sejarah lokal yang diterapkan di program studi pendidikan Sejarah Universitas Syiah Kuala selama ini bersifat teacher center, (2) mekanisme pengembangan bahan ajar bahasa sumber Arab Melayu berbasis infografis dilakukan dengan prosedur R&D yang diawali dengan studi pendahuluan, uji kelayakan produk, dan uji efektivitas produk, (3) efektivitas bahan ajar bahasa sumber Arab Melayu berbasis infografis membawa dampak yang positif dan signifikan dalam meningkatakan minat belajar mahasiswa pendidikan sejarah Universitas Syiah Kuala, hal ini terlihat dari perbandingan nilai post test dengan nilai pre test minat belajar melalui uji paired samples t test dengan ketentuan nilai -t hitung < -t tabel yakni -12,608 < -2,093. Abstract

This paper examines the development of infographic learning media based on Gayo filigree embroidery values to improve student character during the covid-19 pandemic. This study aims to explore, develop, and test the effectiveness of the media. The method used in this research is using the Borg Gall model. The results of the study indicate that so far teachers have used learning media and instilled character education. However, the material developed is only limited to the material contained in the textbooks. The development of historical infographic learning media based on Gayo filigree embroidery values is used as a solution for exploratory or preliminary studies. From the results of the media effectiveness test, it shows that the developed media can improve students' character.Keywords: Learning Media, Infographics, Gayo filigree embroidery Values, Character.

Abstract

Kurangnya pengintegrasian materi lokal pada mata pelajaran IPS, khususnya kajian sejarah ternyata berdampak terhadap rendahnya tingkat kesadaran sejarah siswa. Masalah tersebut menjadi alasan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran sejarah berbasis situs-situs tsunami Aceh yang kaya nilai-nilai dan moral. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran IPS, khususnya bidang sejarah berbasis situs-situs tsunami untuk meningkatkan kesadaran sejarah siswa. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian pengembangan dari Borg and Gall, yang terapannya disederhanakan menjadi tiga tahapan yaitu pendahuluan, pengembangan dan uji keefektifan. Objek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri se-Kecamatan Sakti. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa selama ini umumnya guru masih kurang menggunakan media pembelajaran dan fasilitas sekolah masih minim. Guru jarang memasukkan materi yang berkaitan dengan peristiwa lokal, sehingga berdampak terhadap rendahnya kesadaran sejarah siswa. Temuan awal tersebut melandasi pengembangan media pembelajaran IPS sejarah berbasis situs-situs tsunami yang disesuaikan dengan KI dan KD, materi dan gambar. Pada uji keefektifan menunjukkan terdapat peningkatan nilai rata-rata kesadaran sejarah siswa secara signifikan. Terbukti dengan dengan peningkatan hasil perolehan skor post test kesadaran sejarah kelompok eksperimen.

Abstract

The events of the Gayo-Alas War that occurred between the Gayo-Alas people against the Dutch colonial marked the end of the Aceh War. This bloody conflict also marked the Gayo Plateau region, especially Takengon, which was occupied by the Dutch colonial authorities. Since then, Takengon, which was originally just an inland region of Aceh, has begun to grow, especially its infrastructure. Therefore, this study aims to examine the infrastructure that was built in the colonial era (1904-1942). The method used in this study is the historical method, which consisted of five analytical stages, namely topic selection, heuristics, leverage, interpretation, and historiography. The results of the study show that since the Dutch colonial came to the Gayo Takengon Plateau in 1904, Takengon was more developed comparing to previous period, all of which was inseparable from infrastructure development by the Dutch colonial. Some of the infrastructures were built successfully, there were the main road between Bireuen and Takengon, central government, Dutch and Tionghoa society, market, and Dutch school.  The development of infrastructure also has had an impact for Takengon's area, such as the new society along Bireuen-Takengon highway, and the construction of Takengon-Gayo Lues' road. In addition, the opening of the road was aimed at opening the Dutch plantations and the private sector has  made the emergence of the society's settlements, like in Redelong, Pondok Baru (Janarata), Lampahan and Isaq.

Abstract

The research aimed to describe the life history of King Sejong the Great and his contribution to the field of alphabet and law, especially law for convict, marriage, and heir. The method applied in the research was the historical method. The results show that Korea is in a golden age because of his policies during his leadership. His most outstanding contribution is the hangeul alphabet which gradually replaced idu and hanja. In addition, in the field of law or policy regarding prisoner sentences, the law must be fair and adjusted to the age limit, and the community must understand the law. Marriage law where women can only marry when they are 14 years old. The last is the law of heirs, which divides fairly and is no longer patriarchal. These policies are related to moral ethics, virtue, truth, and wisdom based on Confucianism.

Abstract

This research traces the origin of traditional fracture treatment, and identifies the values of local wisdom, especially in traditional healing process performed by the tabib family and to describe how the traditional healing system is developed from ancient times to the present. This study used a qualitative approach and historical methods through topic selection, heuristics or collecting sources, verification or source criticism, and sources and historiography interpretation. Based on the research that has been conducted, the following results were obtained: (1) Fracture treatment has been performed since 1950 in Aceh, especially among the tabib family coming from South Aceh through the inheritance of knowledge from generation to generation; (2) The regeneration process was performed in the healer family, in this case the father inherited from his children or grandparents to his grandchildren to study this knowledge, and practiced it in their entire life; (3) Entering the modern era, traditional medicine has developed in several aspects, so, people tend to believe in this treatment. This study is a part of the historical local wisdom (HLW) to determine how the development of traditional medicine in Aceh from time to time.

Abstract

This research discusses about umah pitu ruang found in the Gayo community in Tanah Gayo, Aceh. The purpose of the study is to describe the meaning umah pitu ruang and the history of the emergence of umah pitu ruang in the Gayo community. This study uses the historical method using five stages, namely topic selection, heuristics, verification, interpretation, and historiography. The results showed that umah pitu ruang is a series of words from the Gayo language, umah means house, pitu means seven, and space means space. Thus, umah pitu ruang can be interpreted as a house with seven rooms. The term umah itself is the influence of Austronesian traditions and languages. Umah pitu ruang is thought to have appeared hundreds of years ago long before the emergence of the Linge Kingdom. It all started with the arrival of the ancestors of the Gayo tribe who initially lived in baking pans but later built simple stilt houses. Over time, the number of residents, cultural, and customary knowledge that developed led to the emergence of umah pitu ruang.
